Spam bots still seem to be getting through even with the advanced CAPTCHA enabled, so I'm activating user email registration validation.

Validating members should use the "Validating Issues" subforum to address problems they have during validation.

Don't know if this already exists, but you can add the "are you a bot?" question and leave it marked as "Yes" by default, so ordinary bots can't change to "No" and get registered tongue.gif

So there was a spambot invasion...hmmm...anyone say how bad?

And BTW, it couldn't have been bad as the one I had...we had around 5 to 10 spambots everyday, before we had a revolution, moved, and had the Textual Confirmation MOD installed wink.gif

Yea, we had that problem once...expect, it was posting pics, and the links to them...from then on, I removed all topics from the Mod control centre, rather than directly...

Once, we had a spambot that looked like a real person...he didn't post any links, he just said Hi, and said a few good things about the community and such.

And that is the only good spambot I've seen to this day wink.gif

On gamefaq's, i remember there was a bot where each time you post something it just take the content from the last post and make a new post with google link related to the last post... it was only doing this on the Baldur's Gate board.

Hotmail seems to be the way to go, I use that normally, so I had no problems, good idea Duran.

What on earth is your point? smile.gif Yea, I'll pay a one-off fee for a software program...but I'm using some free, and sometimes annoying, email service, when I can use my own domain email, with no problems at all smile.gif
