Now that a (Japanese) Trial version of RMVX has been released, (See this link [We don't have one at RMVX.com
---- I have played around with it, and have also played with the Game (that came automaticly when I created my "Test" game), and I must say, from what I can see and understand, its very impressive. As expected, its got the features of RMXP, but the style of graphics from RM2K3 The Map Editor, the only other thing which I really tried out, was easy, and kept simple Overall, I enjoyed playing around with it, and now hope that a English Trial is released early next year! ---- Discuss here the goods, the bads, and any other comments of the trial here, and give the rest of the community "Your Thoughs!" Thanks All! Keeping the dream alive! -Tayuke (P.S I made this topic so we can keep the other one to what it was: A topic about RMVX events, not the trial L.R Tay -------------------- |

I like the trial so far, but I hate having to increase my resolution so I can click the buttons at the bottom of the events.
Also if anyone looks at RPG RPG Revolutions translation of the restrictions for the trial this is what Number 9 means. QUOTE 9. Updates not supported The trial version does not support released updates. It just means that once RMVX is out and if a update is released for it you will not be able to apply the update to the trial. -------------------- ![]() RPG Crisis - The Maker Archive Site. No problem.
In regards to writing a review, I haven't used RMVX enough to form an absolute opinion on it yet. -------------------- ![]() RPG Crisis - The Maker Archive Site. The only thing, which was pointed out by a good friend of own apart of this community, that now annoys me is that the 5 layers aren't what they seem to be: You only can put 1 layer on top of the Ground Layer, which really is abit odd... I so hope this is a bug! o_o Really, if I can't use more than one layer on top of the lowest one the fun is immediately spoiler for me... Now we can all go and abuse events for a third layer like in RM2k(3)... Aside from that, I do want to try it out. >w< -------------------- My games: Ae Games ![]() Walking The Plank - Project topic - Development blog - Concept Art Gallery (DeviantArt) - Teaser » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Ground and the whatever is above the ground. If there is no way around this... or they dont fix it. To hell with VX I will stick with XP, because layers is a BIG part of the entire mapping proccess and needs to be there in order to make a good looking map. |

Oh, and maybe this layer thing is because it is just a demo, an incomplete demo(I hope so -------------------- ![]() Hello, I am jumbo! As you can see, I don't post in RMVX related threads (well, sometimes...). That's because I don't like VX, I'm staying here just because of some friends I met. So, you'll only see me in the Fun&Games forum. |

Yes, the layer thing is very annoying. Asides from that, it's...okay. Obviously I can't judge if it's in Japanese as I can't use many event functions at all. The mapping process is quite awkward but I can imagine myself getting used to it after a while - I just hope the layer thing will get improved!
EDIT - the message box too, is both bad and good. Bad insofar that it no longer has the shortened box and you have to judge it by arrow, good that you can preview your messages much more easily than on XP. The check box that allows you to make the messages automatically wrap is good as well, better than the "batch text entry" options. -------------------- QUOTE (Zigma) Justice you are my new Hero ;P |

I think the 1 layer is a trial limitation cause i heard that you can create more layer than XP on VX.

Well, I'm not too hot about it yet. Of course, this IS a demo, but unless the amount of layers will grow I will be sticking with RMXP and RM2k(3).
This is an easy program, but since I have tasted what RMXP's maps could do, I want to be able to do the same (or even more) in RMVX. Seriously, I want more than just 2 layers. I think the 1 layer is a trial limitation cause i heard that you can create more layer than XP on VX. If this is true, I will await the release. If it is not, then Enterbrain has disappointed me. -------------------- My games: Ae Games ![]() Walking The Plank - Project topic - Development blog - Concept Art Gallery (DeviantArt) - Teaser » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Oh my god the music sucks on ice!
It's re-using the icons from RMXP, and it's using sound effects from like RPG Maker 2000. Why did they get the guy who made the music for those RPG makers to make the music for this one? Looks like I will have to find music/sound elsewere because this is just horrific sounding.... like nails on a chalkboard. What is up with the battle backgrounds? I want some normal backgrounds.... I do like the right click functionality for Telelport, Chests, Doors, and something else though. It's also nice to see that areas are back... For some reason I feel we are getting a rehashed RPG Maker 2000/3 :-/ |
