Enterbrain has announced the newest piece of information about RPG Maker VX. As spoken by Arts Kawashima:
The other day we had the company physical examinations. In this industry, there are many people living an unhealthy life, so I honestly believe this was well-appreciated. In this industry, I'm occasionally told to try "sleeping in my chair" and the like by students, but I wouldn't be so quick to laugh about it coming to that point... I'd like to further explain the "Dungeon Creator" process introduced on Tsukuuru Web. Dungeon Creator I thought I'd make a dungeon, but I can't figure out what it'll look like. For people for which this is the case, we have prepared the "Dungeon Creator" function. Even if you have the form down, looking at the map chips and deciding what will be the floor and what will be the wall can be hard for beginners. Even if you've easily set it all up, you cannot really draw it well in the beginning. Surely, these poor lost lambs will also make use of the Dungeon Creator. 1) First you must make a map as you normally do with the "Map Set-Up". As the creator function will not work properly if it's too small, aim for no less than 50x50 when preparing the map.
2) Right click on the name of the map you've made and choose "Dungeon Creator" at the very bottom of the menu.
3) Choose an image for your floor and wall. The items are ordered in pairs, so at times when you're unsure of which to choose, just select images in the same position.
4) In the blink of an eye, a dungeon like this will be created.
From this point on, you can make some adjustments. Size and images can be changed. Also, if you use the "Dungeon Creator" once again without changing the size or images, the dungeon will be created again with a different form. You can redo it until you're pleased with the results.
By the way, this is a dungeon created in 200x200. Who's hiding inside? -------------------- Please read over the Board Guidelines. It helps.Favorite Quotes: Time... lines? The 200x200 dungeon is amazing, i don't think it will find its way in a game though... it's a real maze!

It's actually not a very good map. The only reason why that is impressive is that it took ten seconds to make. If you made it by hand it would look way better, but it would take longer, so I guess it's all just personal preference. You could make a map like that and then tweak it to your specifications, but why not just make it the way you want it from the get-go?

True, it isn't so good even while it is complex. I really prefer to create my dungeon by myself though.

You could always just use the Dungeon Creator as a template for your own dungeon *shrugs* Personally, I think its cool that a map that big can be wiped up in a small amount of time, but it looks its repeating itself over and over...and seriously, face it: If you knew the dungeon would be that BIG, who would spend all the effot fighting all the monsters in it, or jsut getting through it....

Agreed with tayuke; you'll most likely gonna die mid-way within these huge dungeon but this problem can be overcome by creating "Regeneration Pool" each 1/10 in the dungeon.

But that would take abit of effort...then add some extra's to the map, to make it look more...appealing...in the screenshots
I would only make a small dungeon, before modifying it to me liking -Tay -------------------- |

Anyway, dungeon creator or not; am sticking with XP for the moment and am going to draw all my dungeon myself(more personal satisfaction)
