Yes, providing you bought RMVX and you only use the RTP. If you use custom graphics (that you didn't make yourself) then you'll need to sort it out with the creators individually.

It's not my intention to come off as rude, but, I think a bigger question you should be asking yourself first is: what can you bring to the table that trumps what is already found in free games?

Keep in mind that people will be hard-pressed to pay money for a game they've never heard of unless what is presented is something of better quality than the free RPG's out there and a feel that will remind players of the console RPGs they loved.

Just my thoughts smile.gif

The theory is you can as long as all the graphics and the audio are either from the RTP or created by you, however it would have to be unique and something really worth spending the money on for anyone to buy it. No easy challenge.

I have no intention of selling games made by RPG Maker.. I just wanted to know if it's legally safe to sell games made by RPG Maker. Now I know. smile.gif

But, is it illegal to buy points and can be used in your rpg? But, you still have the orginial RTP.

I have a shop in my game where players can buy points and spend them there (points cost real money) , is that illegal with/without the licence?

I doubt that's illegal, but it's a lame idea for a single player-rpg imo.

I agree, make an an MMO.
And making people buy "points" for real money is pointess, nobody will buy them.
It's legal i'm guessing.
if you're selling your game, i'm pretty sure you'll have to discuss things with enterbrain's Head ADMIN however, you'll probably have to give more than half of the profit to enterbrain if they approve but i doubt they'll approve

It says in the disclaimer somewhere that you may sell the game IF you buy the licensed version of the software.

If it's your intention to create a game, at any future point, then I say give it your best shot. Don't worry about what anyone says. If it's your dream then do all you can to make it happen. You may just end up making some money and you may not. You'll never know if you don't try. Forget the free route. I like free games as much as the rest of us but if I was making a game, making it free would be my last thought. There are quite a few less graphical games, comparatively speaking, that actually make a nice little chunk of change. Take the Avernum series which actually sells quite well. Granted this engine is vastly different but the sky is the limit. Make your masterpiece and hope it does well, if not then it's back to the drawing board. Good experience though.
