I just downloaded this demo Bulletxt. I'm impressed.
You took DKAINERU's script idea of switching tiles and improved it with passage settings solving... Poccil's script is also useless and pretty much a drag compared to this... -------------------- |

![]() What can change the nature of a man? ![]() Type: Writer Alignment: Lawful Neutral |
Am I to understand, by the instructions given in the script, that only one Tileset "part" (A1, A2, A3 and so on) can be exchanged per transfer? Does it mean that, if I want to transfer the player to a map that has 4 "parts" different from the previous one, I'd have to make 3 other transfers before actually sending him to the intended map?

Exactly, either you do that or you wait for me to update the script that will support swapping all tilesets in 1 transfer I released the script quite fastly because I didn't have much time to implement that feature. But don't worry, it's coming This post has been edited by bulletxt: May 15 2009, 09:28 PM -------------------- Developing the following scripts: SwapXT, Audio Engine XT , Do $something if inside an Area , Warning Before Random Battle Starts , Arabic Reading Right to Left, Enable Battle in Vehicle, Fast Boot For Developers, Pause Game, Disable Main Input Keys, Remove Attack Command, Reduce Battle Encounter with Accessory, Disable AutoShadow Plus, Paper Mario Walk, Minigame: Win the Lottery!, Thomas Edison VX, Continue Map's BGM after battle, AutoSave VX and more... |

Nice to know you're planning to update it, but even at its current state it's a wonderful work, I'll certainly use it.

Hey bulletxt, if this script does break the limited tile constraint in VX then you are my hero! It's exactly the kind of thing I needed. Thanks. Problem is it sounds kinda complicated. I know how to copy n paste the script (duh

Hi bulletxt, a great script for swap tilesets! But I have a little doubt about.
The script will only replace the tilesets on real time but it wont let me map with other tilesets on RPG Maker VX, right? Or maybe for a next update? I'm a bit noob still with RGSS 2 (no with RPG Maker) and maybe it's a stupid question. |

CeroNegativo, all this script does is swap ONE tile at a time (A1, or A2, A3 and so on). You can only not use the original tile that you swapped for your new one. So, if you swap Tile B, what was in Tile B will no longer be available until you swap it back.
With some careful planning you shouldn't run into any problems. Of course if I'm wrong, bulletxt might be able to explain it better. -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() I love Ookie, and you should too! Well CeroNegativo this script is about a million times easier to use than Poccils, and it also allows you to create new passage settings for the tile you are swapping in.
But at the end of the day it is all up to personal preference. Oh, and welcome to the forum. I'm in the process of creating a tutorial on how to use this script so bulletxt can spend his time scripting, not explaining ;p will edit or repost with a link to the tut asap This post has been edited by VIII: May 20 2009, 09:10 PM -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() I love Ookie, and you should too! As promised, here is the complete 0.2 script!
Finally, you can swap all tilesets! And also, passage settings and swapping tiles are 2 indipendent things. You can swap tilesets without changing passages, or you can change passages without swapping tiles! And of course you can both swap tiles and change passages at the same time! This script finally fully breaks VX tilesets and passage settings limit and it's very easy to use! Cheers, BulletXt This post has been edited by bulletxt: May 21 2009, 04:32 PM -------------------- Developing the following scripts: SwapXT, Audio Engine XT , Do $something if inside an Area , Warning Before Random Battle Starts , Arabic Reading Right to Left, Enable Battle in Vehicle, Fast Boot For Developers, Pause Game, Disable Main Input Keys, Remove Attack Command, Reduce Battle Encounter with Accessory, Disable AutoShadow Plus, Paper Mario Walk, Minigame: Win the Lottery!, Thomas Edison VX, Continue Map's BGM after battle, AutoSave VX and more... |
