Okay, the VX community has pretty much realized that the chibi style monster is a hard to come by resource.

Can we talk about this? Types of monsters (not invented ones but categories of existing ones)

Other approaches to monster chars? What are the monsters in your game like?

Of course we routinely get monster requests, and Grannie is too lazy to make another list - lol

I suppose "Possessed Objects" (eg. Mimics, Orbs, etc) should be a category? Though the mimic is the only such item included in the RTP "Battlers"....

but I mean, I have some non-Huge monsters, like insects and the like. In my game I have normal-sized foxes, crows, imps, centipedes, and snails all in one dungeon, as well as a "Ridiculous but Fun" Kitten Device (see spoiler below)

OH! You'd best not forget possessed shrubberies "Plant-Type" monsters would be an appropriate title (eg. roses, giant trees, vines, etc), my game has an "Elemental" of the forest with two "Root" enemies as a boss, along with a violent Rose as a general encounter.

I get my resources for enemies at this site, where there are also RTP characters such that the style can be standardized in your game.

I suppose rather then Mythological, Lore would be a more accurate tagging, since all of these monsters are mythological or otherwise fictional ;p

I think another good one could be Machines. Robots, Mechs and things of that nature.

We are talking about charsets, right? If that's the case, then for the category I coin, Enterbrain's robots are the only charset of those that I know of. If it's battlers, I think the link Aarón N.P. posted has some.

I just converted all of the XP monster sprites into VX format using Wortana's nifty converter. Is that worth uploading and putting here or did someone already do that?

All I have to say is thank you, thank you, thank you GrandmaDeb. I use the enemy animated battler script and I've wanted my all my monsters to be animated. But I had the hardest time finding monster sprites till I came across this page. You are trully amazing ^^. Now I have a variety of monsters to use.
