Pretty good, max.
Except the flowers there on the cobble. Make it grass and I'm glad.

Been awhile, so here's a recent map I've been working on. Nothing special, but the rest of the map looks pretty good and I was happy with the outcome of this one.

I like them, they're very good!
I would give a B+!

Hello, I am jumbo!
As you can see, I don't post in RMVX related threads (well, sometimes...).
That's because I don't like VX, I'm staying here just because of some friends I met.
So, you'll only see me in the Fun&Games forum.

The trees are from Mack. They are a little dark compared to the RTP, but I really like the look of them overall. PLus, even though they aren't an exact match, they give us some variety.

I like the trees. It adds variety, yeah. It looks like an old-school Sega Genesis RPG, sort of.

Also, is that a windowskin there on neat text box? Or, some sort of script? Both ...? Looks neat, though, there is no "name" box that I can see.

It is a windowback I found on a German site. It basically replaces the Dim background which is the messageback file in the System Folder.

My small village and a few of the interiors. It doesn't have many events since I use X/Y coords and put them all into one event to prevent lag.

Here's mine, notice that I made all the houses so that you can just walk right in with no doors like in Lufia games. I absolutely like the way in VX that you can use every object in the tileset inside and outside. Therefore it gave me this idea:

It's actually not that bad with all the grasses and trees. Only makes it a bit more detailed but crowded. I basically randomized all the trees and grass.

- Oh yeah and I'm not completely done decorating it yet. Just wanted people's opinion of it.

@rpg > I'm curious how you'd add second floors to the buildings. Also the trees all perfectly lined up like that on the outside of the fence look creepy. Plus if you wanted the trees to be dense you could have used the tile with the two trees close together. The insides of the houses are nice, though I know you're not finished as a lot more can be done with the outsides of the houses.

@woratana > It looks like you have one of every plant on the map. Though that does make it lively, it also makes it look fairly random. As well as the four different kinds of crack tiles used on the one wall. The water on the two different hight looks nicely done.

Demodronik, to add 2nd floors, you can copy + paste the map to have as a template for the next floor up. Oh, and Lufia is great to get influence from, amongst the 16-bit SNES RPGs.

Foxsuke? Very cute and cuddly! I hope you have super-moe girls, too happy.gif. Wora, your banner link is messed up, by the way. It shouldn't be http://&quot/;http://foxsuke.blogspot.com/", no?

Yeah i still have a lot yet to get done. for the trees outside the fence, they were just there for a finishing touch for a screenshot so it doesn't look so empty but the idea of trees overlapping sounds good. i like making my maps detailed so theres still flowers to add, wells, more barrels, etc.

-for 2nd floors, i just created stairs going up teleporting to a different map and from there made my upstair rooms. pretty simple and it looks nice.

RPG it's a cool idea but that map is a little bit bland. It's sort of identikit to everything else that gets posted in this topic. There's a fair bit you can do with the RTP, try adding some plants and things like Woratana has, maybe not so random though.

Woarata - I like the light effect, not much here tends to have an overlay.

justice what do you mean it's indentikit to everyone else's? lots of people have created the idea of open houses already?

and like i have said previously, i'm not done with detailing the town yet. i'm still gonna add my flowers, plants etc. in it. not like its my final work. i'm stuck with RTP so i have no other choice but to use it. i'll post my final town picture when i'm done with it.
