Is there possibly any proper way to have a good chase scene in a game? I mean I've been trying to set one up, but its not working out too well.

It takes SKILL to be able to trip when you have wings.

Describe the scene a bit please. What is chasing what/whom?

As a general tip I'd make movement between the event objects simultaneous, turn off wait for completion and increase speed and frequency on them.

For example... Lets say that you enter a room when suddenly a big monster drops down and you have to escape from it by running across a hall and
getting to the next room.

Probably best to use a 'Set Move Route' command or autonomous movement on the monster event, and have it 'move toward player' on repeat with wait for completion unchecked biggrin.gif

I remember doing what Piejamas did. Heh.

Here's how I did it (in script form!)

Girlie: "W-what was that?"
Guy: "..!"
Girlie: *steps back* "The wall's... moving!"
*Girlie moves back, and monster bursts out of the wall, hitting Girlie*
Girlie: "Aaah!"
Guy: "Girlie!"
*Helps Girlie up*
*Roarr! Then Guy grabs column and crushes monster with it. The pair run off.*

Then there's a little timer, set to 3 seconds (just to give the characters a little head start), after which the monster will appear.
It's move configuration thingie is set to the highest frequency, with Normal (just as quick as the main characters) speed. It's move route is set to "custom," (press the Set move route button after setting it to custom) with 2 "Move Towards Players," and after that a "Play SE" which would be a footstep.

When the monster touches you, have an unbeatable battle ensue, and if you want, make it escapable. Also, make sure to make the hall straight and easy to navigate so the giant monster wouldn't get trapped somewhere. The "move towards player" function is hardly perfect. And top it off with hectic chase music!
