Outsiders version is just a fancy way of saying WITH RTP DATA.

Version history

1.00---Uploaded it for the first time
1.01---Found some small errors
1.02---Way too many errors, I'm doing a complete play through before I upload again...
1.03---Finished up the play through! Beta testers needed! smile.gif
1.04---Fixed all the 1.3 errors and a few errors that I found myself.
1.05---Fixed all of the 1.4 errors that I could. There are still a few errors that I can't fix on my own. sad.gif
1.06---Fixed a couple of errors, made it a bit smaller and added 2 scripts.
1.07---A LOT OF GRAPHICAL CHANGES, along with a few bug fixes.
1.08---Added a new font and got a couple errors out.
1.09---Lots of script updates
1.10---Battle backs put in
1.11---A few errors fixed up
1.12---Added skill shop, multiclassing, and a few other scripts
1.13---I'm pretty sure this time will be my last update for a while. Multiclassing and skill shop, glitch less.
x.xx---Final version for all non-beta testers. A bunch of add ons and glitch fixes. I'm incredible proud of my mini-game huts.
x.01---Quick Update. OMG UPDATE!!!
1.14---(Upcoming) More window skins, B and W magic huts have some use, crescent lake and mt Glug finished.

So come on and play the game! There is no RTP data included. You can download the binary file HERE. It is fairly large for a demo...(43.49 MB). And I'm only one forth done. But in all honest, it wont get that much bigger. tongue.gif If you want one with RTP data, post so I know to re-compress a binary file for you! Now...the boring stuff...

Story:

"When darkness veils the world, four Warriors of Light shall come." This is Lukahn's prophecy. The belief that the Warriors of Light will save the world when it is in danger. In time, the world lay shrouded in darkness, the seas raged, the winds die, and the earth rots. But the people believe in a prophecy, patently awaiting its fulfillment. When darkness veils the world, four Warriors of Light shall come. After a long journey, four young warriors did come. And in the hands of each, was clutched a crystal. And with these crystals came the hope that the world would hopefully return to normal, with the glimmer fading, and the hope growing.


The World:

With the world veiled in darkness, the people must believe that the warriors of light will come. When they do come, it's almost as if they are without memories, but somehow know what they must do. Together, the four warriors travel through thick and thin, destroying obstacles, and restoring the peace. In the town of Cornelia, a man named Garland has kidnapped the princess. The king orders all troops to rescue her, but Garland is the finest swordsman anyone has ever known. They stand no chance. When the warriors of light appear from a well, the kind presents them the idea of rescuing his daughter, Sarah. Will they succeed? Will they defeat Garland, and bring peace back to Cornelia? Only time and dedication can tell.




Characters:

During the beginning of the game, a man named Gyde helps you in picking your characters in the paths of fate. Here are your options, along with other important characters.


Warrior
Depiction: The brave warrior who gets the sickest most awesome gear.
Background: The warrior is a rouge that was one of the first Warriors of Light, along with the Red mage. He and the Red Mage both ran away from home when a man named Lukahn told them about a fabulous fountain of youth, and they met up in the Lynardi desert. Then, after they met up with the other four Warriors of light, four crystals (Orbs in the original game) formed in thin air. Touching these shining crystals would apparently take you two thousand years into the future. But there were only four, forcing two of the warriors to stay behind in the Lynardi desert.
Pros/Cons
: The Warrior/Knight can use almost any weapon! That's a pro! The Warrior has no magic potential. Con. The Knight can use up to level three white magic, with low MP and Intelligence. Kind of a pro. Over all, this is the character that most everyone uses.



Thief
Depiction: The sly thief who grows to the most epic of all warriors.
Background: When the Thief was convicted of murder, he ran away from his home town to the Lynardi desert. He met up with the other Warriors of light, and then the crystals formed.
Pros/Cons: The Thief has low weapon and armor choices. Big con. The Ninja can use almost any weapon! HUGE PRO!!! Like the Knight, when he evolves into a Ninja, he can use magic, but he uses Black magic. Most parties have the character, but I, personally, do not use it.


White Mage
Depiction: The only female character that is the cleric of the party.
Background: The White mage was kicked out of her city after being blamed for killing a patient that a man named Lukahn actually killed. Upset, the village leaders dump her In the Lynardi desert.
Pros/Cons: The White mage dose low physical damage. Con. Her white magic will make a dead man move. Awesome. Having this character in your party is a necessity. Without her, you characters will seem to die off pretty quickly.



Black mage
Depiction: The mysterious black magician that pumps out damage like milk.
Background: The Black mage had a perfect life. He was a tyrant of a city with his magic. But he felt empty. Then a man named Lukahn kidnapped him and dumped him in the Lynardi desert.
Pros/Cons: The black mage piles up damage easily in the beginning of the game. Toward the end, he begins to do less.



Red mage
Depiction: A misunderstood rebel that is a hybrid of the blank mages.
Background: The Red mage, like the Warrior, ran from home to the Lynardi desert.
Pros/Cons: A necessity. Not literally, but its so awesome that it should be one! Not only can he use almost all level seven magic and lower, he doles out huge damage almost equal to that of the warrior!



Monk
Depiction: A confused but determined fighter.
Background: One day, when praying, a spirit, Lukahn, told the Monk to go to the Lynardi desert to meet up with a couple other fighters. He did, and that's how he became a warrior of light.
Pros/Cons: NO MAGIC! Yeah, I know. But it's OK; he doles out more damage with the crappiest weapons. Not a necessity and almost nobody uses him. Probably the most misunderstood class.
Note: Do not use this class! I can't configure his parameters just yet! If you chose to use him, you will have a fighter that has no parameters! Ignore him!



Garland
Depiction: A feared swordsman, known to be the finest swordsman in all the kingdom.
Background: Once under the King of Cornelia's control, garland escaped and kidnapped the King's daughter!



Lukahn
Depiction: Lukahn is the one that told the people to have faith in the warriors of light. He is a quaint gnome from crescent lake.
Background: Lukahn secretly store the warriors of light to the right paths, giving them extra guidance.

Though it is a remake of FF1, I don't think it should be specifically named "Final Fantasy". I have no problem with the game itself, it's just isn't there something called Copyright Infringement?

While true, this isn't neccesarily an issue in the RPG Maker world.

I do however think a remake is rather pointless and you'd be better off making your own game with simalar idea's.

Despite that, the game itself looks good and i wish you good luck.

What ever you say, I wouldn't even call this a remake though, more like a fan-game at the most, since FFI got remade three times o_<

Mah, it looks good but still remaking something thats been remade many times over is...meh, but its you game and your devotion, make it into something I'd play eh? ;D

Harsh much? But in reality if someone who loves you isnt going to stay around while you accomplish your dreams, then they are not
worth your time no matter how much they say they love you.

Aside from that, I absolutely loved FF1 I EXPECT this game to feel like to original FF1, if you need help with beta testing or anything non graphic related
I can help you out with that no problem.

I started playing so far, and what I have noticed is, the mages(black and white) seem to have physical attack power pretty close to the warriors, I expected them to be a bit more physically weak especially early on.

The mapping is okay, but there is room for improvement, the main thing was the ice tiles in the castle.

Its just in Beta so I know there are alot of things that need to be done, good luck with it all ^^

I think that i'll lower the attack power of the mages then. biggrin.gif
And with the ice tiles, what do you think i should use then? It is supposed to be light blue, but i can compromise tongue.gif

As for the mapping improvement, since it's a remake, i dont think i can change that :/ thanks for the feedback tho...

I'd suggest the default RTP castle tiles, I know you're trying to recreate FFI, but no need to make things exactly if it ends up making things look weird, everyone would understand that your kind of limited to RTP so you can't exactly recreate 100% xD

Well, my goal is to make it as close as possible to the original, but i guess i can add in some extra detail...but you do have a good point. But theres no way i'm changing the shape of the castle. I already feel bad enough making the overworld bigger than it needs to be and same with marsh cave :/

The size is perfectly up to you, its just the ice tiles that bothered me xD

And once again, the overworld has to be bigger to accommodate bigger tiles, so its basically to scale, dont feel bad xD
