Never heard of the IRC?

Well the IRC is a place to chat and socialize with your fellow Rpgmakervx.net community members or organize your game development in personal real time chat messages.

How do you join?

Choose from 4 listed below or Google IRC Chat and pick your poison, after you choose your preferred method follow the following instructions.

WIN: mIRC UNIX: BitchX MAC:Ircle Web: Mibbit

First, connect to the network by entering: /server irc.synirc.net

Then, choose a nickname by typing: /nick [name]

To register your nickname, type: /msg nickserv REGISTER [Password] [Email]

To identify to your nickname, type:/msg nickserv identify your-password

To connect to the channel, type: /join #vxnet

Mibbit is pretty easy and self-explanatory goto Mibbit.com select chat now, type in your “nick� type in server SynIRC and type in #vxnet in the channel field.

Channel Rules

The channel is a stand alone entity from the site but it does have it’s own rules violation of these rules can up to a channel kick or a permanent ban. However as a stand alone those bans do not follow you to the site, do not consider this a way to abuse the rules on both fronts as such will be noted and such activity will be made action upon.

1. Do not discriminate, race, religion, handicap etc.

2. Don’t flood the chat with SPAM!

3. No flame wars!

4. No cross site/server invasion chat wars!

5. No advertising!

6. No ban evades!

Q: Why a new chat channel why not the old one?

A: The old channel is operated by mods irrelevant to the site today.

Q: How long is a Ban?

We usually use IRC clients (ware) but you can use a web site, like mibbit. The link is up there

mIRC isn't necessarily needed to be bought, you can still use it after the trial btw

Umm, I downloaded chatzilla, but i'm terrible at life and can't figure out how to open and run it.

It only takes a few minutes to figure out... I provided lots of basic info in this thread. If you're really having trouble, use www.mibbit.com and select SynIRC in the server dropdown list. Put your nickname in the nickname box and #rmvx as the channel.

When I try to connect with Mirc on any servers, I get this error message; * Unable to resolve server

and it keeps trying but with the same results, I can connect fine with http://www.mibbit.com
Anyone have a clue to what my problem is?


Edit: fixed, had to do something in Kaspersky to let it go through

Keep trying to connect. It might be a problem with mibbit or something, since I know you normally use it and get on well enough. I'm on and no one else has any problems so... :/

EDIT: You could also just use a REAL client like mIRC ;P

I also have this problem.

I get that problem when I try it from work. The thing is, some servers on synIRC block it, while others don't. So keep trying to connect and you'll eventually get a server that allows it (I think snowball.synirc.net is one of the servers that allows mibbit).

I tried to connect to snowball.synirc.net, and got the following message:

snowball.synirc.net: Closing Link: Abculatter_2 (User has been banned from synIRC (Session limit exceeded))

I don't recall doing anything ban-worthy...
