I guess...if I gave you guys Chapter 1, I might as well give you guys Chapter 0 (Prologue):

Prologue: the Opening

-The Smash Realm-

Note: the opening sequence is played both when the player turns on the game and when the player starts a new file. However, the player is only able to skip the former.

Scene: as the opening credits are being shown, the prologue is commencing. A mysterious figure is in a strange place. The figure is named Emmitt. Emmitt is looking over the universe from the Smash Realm. The player won’t know what this place is called yet, though. Then, a second figure appears on the scene. This figure is named Spaak. Emmitt and Spaak are growing bored of the fact that nothing interesting ever happens to the universe.

Spaak: So, what’s happening, Emmitt? Nothing again?

Emmitt: No unorthodox activity as of yet.

Spaak: Ugh…I’m so tired of this! Why do we even have these jobs? Nothing ever happens to the universe!

Emmitt: Spaak, we must be patient. When the universe loses stability, we must be ready to—

Spaak: I’ve been patient for over 9,000 years! The universe has always been stable!

(There is a pause.)

Emmitt: …Spaak…have you ever heard of something called universal duplication?

Spaak: Uni-wha?

Emmitt: It’s a process in which the universe can be multiplied. However, the duplicate universe is made empty upon creation.

Spaak: So…what you’re saying is…what, exactly?

Emmitt: We can create a universe of our own, and do anything we like with it.

Spaak: Mwahahaha! You don’t say…

Emmitt: I, too, have been growing rather bored of all this nothingness. Spaak…how would you like to make something happen?

(The scene then begins to show clips from the game itself, without showing too much. After those clips are shown, the scene shows what is going on with Emmitt and Spaak. They have created a new universe. Suddenly, a new figure appears on the scene. This figure is simply known as the Master. However, the player won’t yet know this.)

The Master: A universe of your own, eh? Interesting…I think I’ll take it.

(The opening ends here.)

Can you be more specific? I'm not sure what you're asking. The ideas for maps are in the script. I just need people to think about the best way to make maps from those ideas...

Those space Pirate sheets you gave me are a killer to work with. I always have one thats bigger than the rest in size, meaning I have to resize the entire thing to fit those needs. I just need to do one of them tho. After that, all it is is taking the same sprites from the other one and placing them over top of the old one.
I haven't started on the new ridley yet, just so you know.
My mario converting is just gettin held back every day. If you guys could find some XP Mario Tilesets for me while I work away at this, that would be great. I'll try and hurry up with everything while still making it all work.

And don't worry about Mario tilesets, for now. I'll probably rely on parallaxes for the look of the maps. You guys just need to worry about base maps that I can draw from. It'd be easier that way, as well as faster, seeing how most tilesets we'd need don't exist...

I have another crazy idea. Instead of copying the M&L battle system, how about coming up with our own? Here's what I was thinking about:

It would be turn-based...still. When a character attacks, though, you have quite a few options. For example, if you get to the enemy, and you push the action button, you'll do an attack. If you push, and hold, the action button, you'll charge up, and then release a strong attack. If you push the button again right after that one, you'll do a strong combo. If you get to the enemy, and push the button rapidly, you'll do more, but weaker, combos. Think of this as the actual games, but, mixed with an RPG battle system.

Tell me what you guys think...

sounds nice , but because im not a scripter I do not know how hard it would be to actually perform the stufff


about the maps , Ill get to them right now =)

The big thing is the power thing. If there isn't any consequences to holding the button down, then people will always do it. Also, the combos would have to stop at some time, otherwise you could just kill an enemy in one combo.
Also, I remember you saying you wanted animated battlers. Just so you know, I probably wouldn't be able to make those. I don't know how the sprite sets work, and making there animations work would be extremely difficult because most of the ones in the game use more than 3 frames.

Well...it's only a rough idea. A final version of it would definitely have restrictions. I mean...when you do a power attack, it would be a two attack combo. The multiple, weaker combos would be, like, five hits. So, you see, we could definitely balance it out.

And don't worry about the battlers. It's not your specialty. And, if you can't do it, I'll find someone who knows how it works.

Actually, the prologue won't need a map. However, there will be a map for the Smash Realm eventually. I will probably end up drawing a parallax over the map, though, so don't worry about the way it looks...
