Story


The story of the game in its nature, is one of that deals with character progression through life changing events.
As the story continues, the protagonist begins to wonder why he has been living a life in which is some how
a lie. The character slowly begins to doubt his new found abilities and therefore begins questioning why he has
to be the one who has to do continue a task passed onto him. The character's life will forever be changed by this enormous
task weighted on his shoulders and he must embark on a journey to fulfill something his father would have
not wanted him to do.

The demo should probably take you an hour or if not a half at most. And considering this IS my first game I am not
expecting it to me a masterpiece however I did spend A LOT of time on it to make sure everything felt
as if it could be done and as well be visually entertaining which I hope it will. I consider this as a DEMO only
because it will expand on what it already is right now. As bugs occur (most likely) please address me so I
can fix them otherwise I don't know unless I go through the whole game again...not sure I want to considering
it does take a while xD

Characters:

???: Protagonist (Knight)

He lives an everyday life fueled by his happiness that one day things will change for the better within his village. As he slowly comes to grip with himself and reality however, he slowly begins to plunder down a tunnel of despair and spirals down into a world in which is beyond what he can comprehend.

???: Magician

She accompanies our protagonist in hopes of learning more about his origins and why he traversed the place
she has been watching in which nobody is allowed to enter.

???: Friend

Later on met in a seaport town, this girl has been known to sail around the ocean however, she is scared, and often is
alarmed by newcomers so she tends to not show herself at all. As the story continues she becomes more aware of what
is happening in the world around her and develops questions to what the world is and its people.

???: Secret Character (Knight)

A clumsy, annoying person who is often looked down upon by other people. He rather makes fun of such people to represent a crude attitude and a "whatever" personality.

You can learn all of < Insert protagonists name here's skills> if you can find the time to grind off of level 2-5 monsters biggrin.gif

Maximum BP that can be earned is 30

14 maps (mentally counting) to explore out of the potential 238 maps

You can only achieve 1 Dungeon traversing item out of a total of <Spoiler!>

Limited in Weapons, Items, armors etc in which you can discover

Only 3 quests are permitted Full version offers over 50 quests

Cannot excavate

Limited in Monster encounters and cannot fully experience over 100 battlers (and I mean over)

Basically you are restricted in a sense to not hinder the full game experience.

Catcat just remember that it's incomplete sort of speak still and I'm still adding things along the way.
However, the game does run till the end, (Unless otherwise something is blocking you from continuing on) so I'm trying my best to include side quests in which relate
to the story and to the characters to further enhance the gameplay.

If you notice anything while playing (like a bug) let me know k? wink.gif

Note: Version 1.2 will either come out tomorrow or after that and will include an array of fixes and improvements
to mapping, dialogue, and side quests...just gotta finish some stuff up first.

Well I have to say, I liked the title screen wink.gif I thought that was pretty cool, the game also reminded me of a classic rpg kinda feel..keep up the work on the game as I'll be checking this one out.

Just to update this topic, I've been rather working diligently on this project for the last month or so and I figured with what I am at right now, I'd wait till updating it again. I see as this version as a "mock" of what to expect from the final version but I can guarantee you that almost everything will be different map wise. Lots of updates to mapping, dialogue, Character growth, classes etc have been rebalanced to match the overall progression of the game. I don't know when I'll update it it but expect it to be VERY soon smile.gif

I should mention that the game is still not yet done. I guess I just put it up for download for feedback but I wouldn't play through the whole thing if I were to download it. I've been working on a new version and it by far surpasses the version that is posted in my first topic. I want to release the game but...slowly perhaps?

Alright, I tried the game. Has good gameplay so far :3

It's funny that:
Spoiler:
You can get Rio's underwear from his drawer and equip it as an accessory =))
This is the first RPG I've seen where you can equip your own undies xD


Btw, there are few 'transfer map' bugs wherein you aren't positioned to the right place.
These bugs start after:

You push the button inside Eric's house.
The scene with the masked guy looked weird, and the dragon didn't look like it saw Rio at all xD
And I got stuck when I entered the 'Path to Ricole something'


This is a great game with a good sense of humor. *tracks topic* :3 I hope you release the new version soon~! ;3

I suggest you to reconsider your music files. 86 MBs is heavy for some people to download.

From most projects out there, this one shows complex sprite poses for the emotions. People usually uses facesets, but this... sprites. I really like this biggrin.gif

Let me touch this one. I smell enjoyment from this thing smile.gif

Yes, I was really trying to cut down the MB from the game but I figured the music fitted the game well. The previous version was 92MB I believe but the most I could cut this down to was 86.5. Perhaps I can still determine what to remove and to keep. Thanks for the feedback though~

The best BAKA ever

Heh, this reminds me some old school games smile.gif. This difficulty... Is like FFI's

- Story: A
This one isn't like the other RM games out there. It's story presentation is good and using variative emotions for each characters, and the NPCs aren't that similar to each other. With those greatly blend humors and some quality choices (yep, not just good and bad!), this game's story can be really enjoyable smile.gif

- Gameplay: B+
Somehow, it has a slow-paced map movement, making the exploration not too comfortable. And dashing is, like doesn't work. Maybe it's because of Yanfly's option menu... And the battles are fast paced, yet has a difficulty of old school RPGs. It gives nostalgia smile.gif. But you sure you don't want to increase their other status other than HP and EN via level up? And the SP gaining is really reminds me of license points...

- Graphics: B
Goodly and naturally (and annoying) maps doesn't that empty. With those emotional facesets of RTP. Is it Vibrato who drew those? And some of the window skins are too flashy to stare on... A good quality for the graphics, I guess wink.gif. Oh yeah, the selected window seems to be unused in the battle, instead, using the default window skin for the battle. Maybe you should ask Yanfly to fix this bug...

- Sound: B+
BOF's battle theme and FFI's boss theme! It does feel old school laugh.gif! We shouldn't forget Pokemon's sexy super effective SFX wink.gif. The musics does build the atmosphere.

Rank: B+
This should be played for some nostalgia wink.gif. Don't forget some bugs there! It does annoying dry.gif. I have some difficulty to enter the cave.

EDIT: Whoops! Almost forgot! Can I ask you what's the meaning of Escavar Fathome? It seems to be having a special meaning from some language...
