Synapsis:
This thread is for the disccusion, display and compilation of pokemon based resorces which I am congeling into a KIT with the help of many other talented members. My goal is not to create a game, but to create a base which contains all the basic elements of the pokemon games, and thus enable people with the VX engine to create a pokemon themed games.
I've attached two RARs; PokeTiles contains the 116 tile sets formated for use with XP engine and PokeSprites contains complete sprite sets for all 493 pokemon, also for use with the XP engine.
This kit will be provided free of charge and those who help in it's creation do so on a volunteer bases. You will however be credited for your contributions.

Tilesets.
116 tiles sheets reformated for use with the VX engine. Only about 10 are ready for use. The remaining sheets still need to be refined and condensed.

Audio.
This is a just a stright up pillage from Pokemon Essnetials. Some of the audio files need to be converted to MP3 format.

Overworld Sprites.
This is a colletion of people in R/S, FR/LG and DS style as well as about half of the pokemon. Some of the prites still need some work, in particular are the R/S sprites.

Battle Sprites.
This all the pokemon and trainer sprites front and back. Some still need to be proccessed.

Latest Base: This thing is huge. It's SowS latest script pumped full of all the latest graphic resorce and several scripts I've been toying with.
(time system error is a known problem. Delete Jet's Day/Night System to resolve the issue.

Retro Graphics Demo Download. This is mearly a graphic demo and does not contain the latest form of SowS' script. All it does is look pretty...or ugly, depending on your point of view.

Bonus for those helping out:

The finished Demo will be a "Developer's Room of sorts where characters explain how various features are used and how they work. If you have made a significant contributing and would like a sprite, PM me a reference pic, this is just a genral idea of who you want the sprites to look. It can be anythng from a photograph to a pencil sketch. It doesn't even have to be human, if you want to be represented as a pokemon, that's fine, but you'll have to wait until that pokemon sprite is finished. I'll be making two sprites, a DS version and an Advance version (for human sprites).


Terminalogy:
A list of words or phrases that have thier own meaning in this project. Some are obvious, I just don't like people playing the stupid card:
PokeApps - collective term for PokeTech, PokeGear, PokeNav, and the PokeWatch.
Player - The person who will being playing the games made by this kit.
User - The person who will use this kit to make a game.
DS Style - refers to resorces which came from either Diamond, Pearl, Platnium, Soul Silver or Heart Gold
Advance Style - refers to resorces which came form either Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire red and Leaf Green.
R/S - abriviation that refers to Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.
FR/LG, F/L, R/G - abriviatio that refers to Fire Red and Leaf Green.
Overworld, OW - refers to sprites and objects outside of battle.
Back Battle sprites - battle sprites which face away from the player/user.
Front Battle Sprites - battle sprites which face the player/user.
Battle Sprites - large non-moving sprites displayed during a battle sequence.
Icon Sprites - two frame sprites used in the party menu screen.
(If you can think of anymore let me know and I'll add them.)

Converting the sprites is what's really going to kill me. I mean, there's 493 pokemon and about 50 general OW, plus all the heros, rivals and other named chracters. I'll be honest, if no one helps out, this will prolly fail or it will take a LONG time to finish.

Great. And if you want to work on any trainer sprites, I found the best looking size is a sheet 96x170. That's 32 pixels wide and 42 tall for each stance. They'll look like this:


For the pokemon themselves, I'd perfer they be different sizes, that way Rattata isn't the same size as Snorlax. smile.gif

I would definitely like to make a Pokemon style game! But it's so hard to find all the things I need to make it.
I'm really in need of the whole thing; Sprites, tiles, scripts, the lot!
I'm really hoping that there is someone who has all the resources needed to make a very Gameboy style pokemon game.
I was able to get this though: first 151 pokemon battle pictures: Front and back.

Very Nice. You are definatly getting big credits for this kit. Now there's just 342 more pokemon to go. sad.gif

Anyway, I put together a first draft on the Iconset. This is meant to be added to the RTP set. (I don't plan to make a standalone Iconset)
(Each Iconset I post is completely functional, I'll just be adding more icons to it as time goes by.)

Also, there was a problem with the Brendan. So I'm removing it for now, I'll repost it soon.

TileA2 is looking better. I'll post the latest one some time tonight.

Begun work on TileA1, hopefully it will be done in the next week.

Also, Begun work on TileB

Completed one set of doors. Will post them when all sets are done.

Threw together a support bar. Look on the first post for it.


*Side note: if you do want to help or are helping, please let me know what it is you're working on, because as you can see I jump around on projects and I really don't want to do something someone else is working on. Also, just because you made something and submitted it to me, doesn't mean I'll use it. This is my project and if I think something is low quality or doesn't fit right I reserve the right to throw it out. Sorry if I sound like a douchebag, but I don't want my handle and those helping to be associated with crap.*

if there is a battles sys like phantasy star shoulbe be easy to change it to pokemon,

Ok, I looked through all my stuff and I have the Front and Back of all 492/3 pokemon. I also have alot of the trainer's front and back if you want. Hole on, Ill try to post them on a file site. Know any good file sharing sites?

Posting links to "raw" content is extremely unhelpful. Please only post things that are ready to be put in the kit. We all know how to use google.

Begun work on A3. Having issues with the rounded corners on the roofs. They are a pain. >.<

Continued work on A1. It's mostly done. One of the lateral currents doesn't go in the right direction. Still need to modify the inside corner on the deep water.

Continued work on A2. Rearanged the autotiles and added a new fence.

Without a specilzed battle script the back sprites are kinda useless at this point so I can't really say how they should be formated.

Make's enough sense but
Pokemon doesn't use faces
so that's kinda strange

But still
And they look nice (The one's in the picture)
