And, so I can learn, I'm going to ask:
What does "unless $@" mean? It means set_max_battle_etc and spg_lpatb_game_party_smbmc are interchangeable unless it's preceeded by $ or @, right?
What exactly does the N01 section do?
What does "eval("N01::MAX_MEMBER = value")" do?

also, this little section:

This means if I don't have a value for @max_battle_etc. then it goes back to the MAX_MEMBERS as defined in the Config of this script, but if I do, it uses the value for @max_battle_members (right?)
I have a feeling that even with this, SPG::LPTSBS::MAX_MEMBERS still takes precedence over the other values, but I could be wrong.
Sorry for being such a newb; i'm learning all this best as i can ^^;

and, I wanted to be sure the script worked before I got into any explaining.. but

one of the things you are referring to is an alias which allows you to update an old method without having to rewrite the whole thing :
CODE
alias new_method old_method

adding the "unless $@" prevents any errors from occurring when you press F12

eval(string) will evaluate a string like any other line of code, so eval("@some_variable = 2") is the same as @some_variable = 2
what I was attempting to do was update the SBS Configuration's MAX_MEMBER variable prior to entering a battle (this way I wouldn't need to redefine other methods)

yes, it's setup this way so that if you change the size of your party then save the game and close it, you aren't set back to the default party size


now as for it not working, like I said it's working for me, so I might suggest trying to change members outside of battle (if you haven't already) because you wont be able to see "EMPTY" character slots in battle (too many errors that way), or you might want to try starting from a new game rather than continuing from an old save, just make sure it's not something on your end that could be causing issues and if it's still not working I'll take another look at it..

Yeah, I tried all that, still didn't work; even deleted the script and put it back in

This is how I scripted it in the event:

This is in a test room I made, and it's only accessible from a new game, and I made it so the player couldn't save in it.

HI I was using your script together with newest version of TankentaiATB and LargeParty scripts.
In my party I have 5 characters. When I switch displays with L and R inputs, even though name, HP and MP changes, ATB bars does not change at all.
I tried to solve this problem on my own by I can't find the code responsible... or maybe I don't understand it?

just got back and tested it today, works fine for me, be sure it's no other conflicting scripts or addons

I'm having the same issue as jaydee15 did, I have everything exactly like him, and when I got to the final part it tells me that there is an error on line 100 its exactly the same thing he got, can you please tell me how you told him to solve it becuase after that post he made about how he got an error on line 100, he just dissapeared and you never answered his question... if your not sure what comment it was it is on the 2nd page of this forum and it is the last post he made on that page.

Ok I resolved most of my issues and I am rebuilding my scripts piece by piece however this is one error i cannot fix.

Also to make things easier if anyone has a working DEMO of ATB + Large party working that would help me alot on importing over the fixed and working script!

Great necropost... we have a forum where you can post questions about scripts.

Not sure what you were asking exactly, but yes, this compatibility patch is only for ATB,
meaning if you're using normal Tankentai, then using the main script only should suffice.
