Shanghai Simple Script - Disassemble Shop
made by Shanghai

Link/Script
Click here

Introduction
This script creates a new scene where players can disassemble their unwanted items or break them down into something more basic. That broadsword which has been replaced by a mightier broadsword can now be broken down into various components and aid the player one last time rather than just sitting there in the inventory to rust.

How to Use
To load the disassemble shop, use the following evented script call:
CODE
$scene = Scene_Disassemble.new

Inside the shop, it will only list items with the following tag set inside of their noteboxes.
CODE
<disassemble>
weapon 1
armor 2
item 3
</disassemble>

Place this in the notebox of either an item, weapon, or armor and that item can then be disassembled into the materials you've placed in between the disassemble tags.

Compatibility
This script is not compatible with people who don't care about database efficiency.

Shanghai, You have certainly been making a name for yourself, havent you. You have been releasing some amazing scripts lately and you arnt slowing down yet. Keep it up and you will surely give both Yanfly and KGC a run for their money.

Also, you should plan a big "Shanghai" demo similar to what Yanfly did. It would include all of your scripts to show them off and show how to use them properly.

I have a long way to go before reaching either of their levels. I'll consider the demo though. No promises.

Not as far as you think. You have done quite the impressive work lately. Keep it up and there is no doubt in my mind that you could not only compete with them, you can make them sweat. And the demo should probably wait for a few more scripts. You have quite the collection, but if you notice that Yanfly's demo and KGC's demo are both HUGE.

Thanks for the confidence boost, but it's apparent to me the difference in their levels. The very core of programming and scripting is logic. Their level of logic surpasses mine by far. I've looked through their scripts and while I understand the bulk of how they work, their thought process exceeds mine on an abnormal scale.

However, my focus isn't to beat them at their own game, but instead, just stay down to earth and enjoy what I do. There's no point in scripting all these systems if they're not fun, and that's the way to best operate, too.

I don't see a reason why Shanghai should reach their level. The scripts are fine on their own and improving a project with some nice additions. Honestly Shanghai, this is one of your best scripts so far, you give Alchemists and Blacksmiths a further meaning with that. Good work.

Five things I would tell other RMers:
-Frankenspriting is really easy, anyone can have a go for great results.
-What matters is not the script but how you use it
-NEVER underestimate the power of events.
-When using RTP remember Vibrato and recolours.
-Use the wondereous substance know as paper (plan, note and sketch your work)

Hey Shanghai, why don't you make a compilation of all your SSS because you are releasing 1-2 daily and I'm kinda lost, and it would be more convenient if you pile them up once and while smile.gif

Part of the reason why I'm hesitant on releasing a compilation is because it will most likely end up having more people who just drag and drop the scripts into their projects without bothering to learn how to use them. It's easier to just keep things on a forum or the PocketWiki where people will have to actively look up how to use the scripts instead of posting complaints about the script not working.

@Shangai

Pocketwiki has proven to be a great idea, and please do stick with it. It IS, after all, compilation of your scripts.
Your SS scripts should be an inspiration to every scripter. Simple, short, elegant, efficient, clever.
That's how a script should be. Complexity of scripting techniques or lines of code are of no consequence.

A very nice de-synthesize script, I like it a lot! Too bad I almost never seem to have a use for your scripts, even though I like them a lot.

This actually will be a nice added element to my game, being able to disassemble items for future crafting. :3 Though the menu crafting system I have is a bit confusing and requires an alternative text file... if you could maybe make a similar script for crafting that you just input the craft ingredients into the item notes that'd be really awesome! Simple scripts are really a lot better I think. :3

<lurker>

I do keep en eye on pocket wiki and I must say it's a fairly brilliant little piece of work. Also, while you may not feel your logical process is up to pace with that of your mentors, Give it Time. The more you push your brain to think certain ways the more fluid and natural it will become, and you will slowly begin to change the way you perceive things as well. You may surprise yourself. For now, enjoy what you do and keep up the good work because in my (rather unimportant but still real) opinion you have allot of potential. "Go get 'em champ." tongue.gif

Silly comment: I feel like this script has a sister in an assembly shop (FF9 synthesis, whatever lol.)
