Linus' Adventure

Intro
A simple little game to start out with.
I realize that the story is fairly weak but it's just to get me started with properly making games and such.

"Story"
Spoiler:

Linus is a simple dog, owned by a little girl named Lisa. One stormy night, Linus goes to fetch his favorite possession, his bone, to find that it's missing. Distraught, Linus runs off into the night to find his favorite bone.

Characters
Spoiler:
Linus: The doggy protagonist of the story. Linus wants his favorite possession back before returning to his owner. He talks all through the game but only other animals can understand him.

Bo Bo: The mischievous cat. Bo Bo is sarcastic and opinionated but can also jump fairly high. He's the first animal Linus meets.

Artimus: The friendly rooster. Artimus was captured and when Linus frees him, decides to help him find his lost bone. Artimus can fit into small spaces.

"Screen-shots"
Spoiler:

Some simple screen-shots. They don't give to much away, unfortunately.

"Download"

Spoiler:
Without RTP.
Link to Download

"Video Walkthrough"
Spoiler:

"Credit"
Spoiler:

- Enterbrain

- Woratana

- KGC

- BulletXt

- SuperOverlord

- Mack

Thanks for giving my first project a look.

And Enjoy.

Haha, that's kind of the basis for my own game. (The main character/dog looking for his bone)
But only for the first ten minutes or so.

EDIT:
I can't figure out what to do with the rope and bell :/

Actually, according to correct English grammar, Linus's is correct.

According to correct English grammar, both are correct. The deciding factor isn't grammatical, but more stylistic. It is dependant upon which spoken form sounds more appealing.

This looks adorable! I'm actually very impressed by the simplicity and the fact that you're not including every feature under the sun in your first game. Quality over quantity, for sure! I'll be playing this promptly.

Thank you, thank you! biggrin.gif

I've pondered on the possibility of a sequel but, to be honest, this game was to pretty much
get me used to RPG Maker VX before starting something big, so I don't see a sequel coming
along.

Thank you for the kind words, folks! smile.gif

It was rather fun and cute. Good Job. Couple bugs I noticed: the Cuckoo Clock passage setting is wrong, it's below character, I noticed this in the castle town. Also in the castle town, the green haired man has a direction fix. Hope I've been clear on what I pointed out.

Quite an idea. I'm not sure if some people might pass it over for it's cuteish storyline, but I thought it was rather well done. I'm impressed, actually, that someone managed to pull off an all-animals RPG and do it so well too.
Good job, man!
Keep up the good work!

I-- I'm still rather in shock that so many people actually enjoyed this game! smile.gif

I was expecting a maximum of 3 people to say "Yep, it's okay, try something bigger". So, to all of you, thank you, so so much!

There is nothing that boosts my confidence more than to see your loving comments so I appreciate that you've given the time. biggrin.gif

Me too, I like the simplicity of this game but I cant figure out how the cats jumping helps me anywhere.
Good Job though.

Okay, once you get the cat, you're able to jump up on the walls near the gate at the bottom.
Unlocking the gate lets you continue onwards, but you've got to be Linus before you leave.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

Hi, I think it's brilliant.

It's such a warming game to play. It has a certain charm.

Now I'm a musician and the one thing that really upset me was your choice of music...it didn't seem to fit.

Therefore, I would like to ask you if you would like me to compose the music of your next game. I will send you some samples in a few weeks if you're interested because I think an original score would make your games a bit better. My favorite style is music that sounds orchestrated but I can try out as many kinds as you want and I can do MIDI sounding music if required.

Again it's up to you but I just wondered if you'd like services. wink.gif
