Tried posting this the other day but I guess I didn't put enough detail. Anyway, this should flesh things out a bit more.

Details:
The story revolves around a girl named Alyssa. One day she awakens to the sound of her neighbors daughter yelling, telling about a guard standing outside her door. She talks to the guard and discovers that she is being called forth by the King, Leodan. After traveling to the capital city Portwell, she is introduced to Mel and Nate. The King informs her that the lands are being attacked by a evil monster, Cyrus, unleashed by the Kingdoms barbarous southern neighbor the Horum. Mel and Nate accompany here on her quest to stop Cyrus the Terrible, and set out south to the RED HILLS where the beast is said to live. Its a fairly straight forward story structure. To spice things up a bit from the other RPG games posted here, I replaced most of the artwork with custom art and I also implemented some cool new features like a bounty system and even a jail system where you can get arrested for doing crime. There are also jobs you can take up to get money such as wood cutting and milking cows etc. The game runs about 3 hours long depending on how well you, player, find yourway around.

I am happy you are enjoying the game so far, and sorry about the bug. It was a scripting mess up. I fixed it, all you have to do is just download the same link posted here ( I can update it without having to put a new link) and copy and paste your old save file back into the folder. Easy peazy, Sorry again about the bug, and let me know if you run into any others. Have fun playing.

I'm brand new to all of this so I can't really say much, but this is the first game i've downloaded and im impressed. I love the music although i've noticed that some of the characters call the GUARDS, GAURDS but there could be a reason for this who knows! Keep it up, can't wait to post a little something i've been working on!

haha yeah, a side affect at working at 1am. There are a bit of spelling errors, but beside that the game should run fine. Can't wait to see what you got as well.

Literally just opened the game. It looks good.

Just to note in the beginning
- You can restart the event with Andrea in the beginning if you re-enter the house. It might be good to throw a self-switch on that
- I dunno if you meant to be able to walk over the cat, but it seems mean lol.

lol Its funny that you caught that. And the answer is that the game originally stared a male character and I decided to change the main character to a female. It would seem I looked over a few words here and there.

I'd give it an 8.1/10 overall. (Lets not start a flame war, it's just my opinion, My opinion is not the final word in anything)

Below are the five categories I used to evaulate it. The explainations are covered as they may contain spoilers. I thought it was a good game and would encourage others to download and play it.


Gameplay: 7.0/10

Spoiler:

Well done, had to level grind to beat the one boss, money is hard to comeby and exploration gets a bit tedious with the large spots of emptyness and random encounters. And early on. Mel and Nathan are kind of squishy.

Mapping/sprites: 8.5/10

Spoiler:

Successfully gave the feeling of exploring a sizable area, had several "goodies" scattered about, but finding them was like a needle in a haystack. Good choice of sprites, some facesets may be pleasently recognizable, several slight cases of facesets not matching sprites. Battlers were good.

Story 7/10

Spoiler:

Seems Generic at first but the setting offsets that somewhat. Does not get into characterazation much. Does not explain now the protagonist starts off a paladin and is deemed qualified for fighting a big monster by the king. A reference of a past adventure or two would have been nice.

Setting 8.5/10

Spoiler:

Unique, with gave the idea of a mostly untamed wilderness.
Well thought out, with the connecting Rail lines going between towns.

Music Choice and Placement: 9.5/10

Spoiler:

The use of some recognizable songs, and where they were used served to enhance the mood.
