I saw Rush last night at the Jones Beach Theater. I gotta say, it was by far the BEST concert I've seen. I was expecting a great show, but it completely blew me away. I couldn't have asked for a better show. Granted, I'm only 17, so I have MANY concerts ahead of me. But it will be very hard for this one to be topped. So, this inspired me to ask the peoples of this forum; What was the best concert you've been to?

The only concert I've ever been to with real famous people and not just local bands was with Bob Dylan. And thus, I'm forced to say that was the best concert I've ever been to, even if he's from waaaaaaaaaaaaay before my generation. I went with my mom, and he's one of her favorite musicians, so naturally she had a wonderful time, and I enjoyed the music as well.

I really, really wanted to attend a concert from Rammstein's Volkerball tour.
My urge grew even more after one of my friends went to one, while I stayed
home in shitty old Virginia.

Anyways, most of you would shudder at the idea of a person actually wanting to
go to a Rammstein concert, but I find nothing more beautiful than NDH-metal
heads like me all gathered around shouting and shaking their heads. Even if I
don't quite understand the lyrics. :B

@Tarrund I'm happy to say I'm not part of that "most" category biggrin.gif Altough I don't usually listen to Rammstein while I do it, shouting and shaking my head while in the company of other metal heads is one of my favorite activities smile.gif Did at the Mayhemfest of '08 and it was great biggrin.gif

I find this very creepy considering you have exactly 666 posts...

Anyway, I don't mind Rammstein....just not my favorite type of music.

The Tsunami Bomb charity reunion at the Phoenix in Petaluma last year. I thought I'd never get to see them live, since they broke up after I found out about them through the PS2 RPG, Disgaea.

The Action Design opened, which is the new band Emily Whitehurst and Matt McKenzie formed post-TB. Nothington followed, which was formed by other former TB members; their singer sucked ass, but they sounded great otherwise. Kind of amazing to be opening for yourself, I think. Next came The New Trust, who I'd never heard of, and I ended up buying their two CDs that night because I liked that their lead singer plays a mean bassline, which is what I've been trying to accomplish. Then, of course, TB got on and destroyed the place. At the end of the show, Liz Beidelman from Lucky Strike, for whom the charity was intended, came on stage with her arm in a sling and sang Lemonade with Emily Whitehurst.

It was a great show, and I was deaf in one ear for the rest of the night. biggrin.gif

Iron Maiden and DreamTheater would have to be the best I've been to.
I'm going to the Mayhem Festival so idk if it will stay like that.

ACDC at Hampden. Was absolutely epic. This is closely followed by Michael Buble, Placebo and Kasabian. Though I'm seeing Muse next month so expect that to change...

I can't believe Rush still plays live... I'm actually pretty jealous.

Seeing Tool play in Portland, Maine was pretty incredible, and probably deserves my vote, but for some reason I have fonder memories closely associated with having seen Cake live. They just blew me away; they sounded even better live than they do on their albums.

I saw Collective Soul seven years ago on Ed Roland's 40th birthday. The people hosting it had playboy bunnies bring out a cake for him...

It was pretty fun.

I don't tend to go to concerts though... Not a whole lot of bands I like around now anyway.
