Started messing around with VX. (Beginner on RPG Maker in general)
For those who are interested on what you can do with VX (Especially beginners like me): http://www.badongo.com/file/7410314 And for those Script lovers, you can check as well. Couple RGSS files has been added and the link for those scripts are shown after defeating the boss. Should be able to beat the game within 20-30 min. Meaning, you should be able to defeat the boss at like level 4 or 5. Oh and my "engrish" sucks so ignore all the grammar. orz (I'll fix those later) Oh also, you'll need to install RTPVX which you can find here if you yet haven't installed. http://www.famitsu.com/freegame/rtp/vx_rtp.html Image Sample: ![]() RGSS2 Scripts: SideView Battle + Special Skills Character Information Status (Can be seen where you look at the status window pushing enter bar) etc. Overal opinion. Very beginner friendly compare to XP. Opinions? Complaints? Rape me? BRING IT ON! *Jab! Jab* *Puts a Iron Shield* ...Oh and hi everyone. I usually just roam on gamefaqs board. |

Woot! While i can't currently test your work, i can say that it's looking good. The sideview batlle is FANTASTIC! It's good that you replace the boring default battle system.
(Am very active on gamefaqs board, but not in the RPG maker section though.) -------------------- ![]() |

Did you code the Side View yourself? Looks decent enough.

I made a claim a while ago to play every game posted in here, so I'm happy to play this to stick to that.
Problem is, Badongo is the work of the devil, do you think you could host it on box.net, mediafire or megaupload? -------------------- QUOTE (Zigma) Justice you are my new Hero ;P |

Thats awesome battle system, but when I try to implement it, I get an error in the Cache Script on line 75. I don't know why...LOL. That thing needs translated cause it is awesome, thanks for pointing us in that direction. Now, only if I could get it to work.
EDIT: Someone at RRR gave me their scripts file and it fixed the problem. Not sure what caused, but may be good to know for future reference. -------------------- Spoiler: ![]() Spoiler: Certified Source of Fig. |

Question, once you download the script, what do you do next to put it in?

Huge bug found. After defeating him, while the earth is shaking, you can move. I moved down and back up so I had to fight him again. That really pissed me off, seeing as how I'm only playing the game to get the script.
P.S Can someone plz give me a link to that battle system. I can't find it and when I try to the use the one Jason sent it gives an error "missing cursor.jpg" I've searched all over the japanese sites. -------------------- |

I'm only 2 save points in; the maze at the beginning was somewhat uninspiring but there's something insanely..'playable' about the VX RTP that makes you want to keep going...

After all the bitching, I think it is much more fun to play with the VX RTP over the XP. I really like it a lot more than XP now that I have got a chance to use it. -------------------- Spoiler: ![]() Spoiler: Certified Source of Fig. |

Thanks a lot for the script Jason. I did look all over those sites, I only found the one on Code Crush site.
Another thing, why is it that when I import my own character it doesn't select the whole character set. It only selects part of it as if it were a charset with 8 characters. Even though my character is the same size as the ones that come with the script. -------------------- |

Example: If you named your character Fred in the DB, name his character sprite $Fred. -------------------- Spoiler: ![]() Spoiler: Certified Source of Fig. |

I can't quite figure out how to make the system work. I don't have cursor.png for one thing and the battle system asks for it, plus I can't figure out how to make the sprites work correctly. It uses my whole SET of characters instead of just the 1. Anyone else having this problem?
