Ive had a hard time finding a good tileset that includes a great world map template. I have relatively no complaints with the original VX tileset. For world maps though, the edges from water to land are not very artistic or smooth in any way though, its very square.

Such as these two examples

I was using a different tileset in the XP version of my game and i was quite fond of the way its nice and rounded out.

Heres da wan

Another issue i have with the original VX is with the mountain tiles. They dont fade out very well at all. And they dont have much going on for bridges either.

In this example they are both very square and do not fade well for tall mountain sides.

In xp they had it right

Being able to pick a tileset for each map under map properties was also a great feature. I wonder why they took that off?
Anyways, if theres a tileset that would attune to my picky-ness, please let me know about it.

The first two examples were made with the original RTP tiles. You just need to learn to map better.

There are not many new tiles out there, but if you look in the resource forum you will find what is available.

for the world map problem, try looking at C-7's parallax mapping tutorial. Many great mappers use parallaxing as opposed to regular maps

there's a rounded tileset to help your map to look smoother and less square
for example Nightwalker's tileset http://rmvx.gameclover.com/t/night-walkers-tiles/
there are other tile like these but I didn't save them so I forgot who made them

I guess i could. It would take a little modifying, but im willing to put time into it.

I would however like to be able to switch between tilesets when in different maps. Is there any way to do this? Im assuming I would have to script something like this.
