Introduction

I was planing on delaying the release of this until the 13th but, I needed some feedback to improve this.
**Note This is my first CBS. So I need some help to improve it.
Anyway now for the real intro.
I present to you Yggdrasil! A one of a kind ABS, that was designed with Multi-Battle systems in mind!
O.< You can disable this at anytime with a simple Game Switch, or leave it on permanently.
So you can use your other Favorite Battle systems like Melody, Takentai and GTBS and have Yggdrasil on the side.
You don't have to use Yggdrasil as a Battle System, with a little eventing tricks and some custom attacks you can make Mini-Games.
There is one downfall, this script requires a bit of configuration, before use.
It is not a simple plug and play, and is not Noob friendly.



Features

wink.gif Fully Custom attacks - Almost all the features in Yggdrasil are REGEX driven, the attacks are no exception, create multi-hit attacks, long range, bow effect, knock back, etc.
ohmy.gif Projectiles - No ABS is complete without flying things! You can create interesting projectiles with some eventing knowledge + Some special effects!
laugh.gif Switch Operated - Yggdrasil won't eat up your game all for it self, you can turn it off (Not really necessary) to go and use your Normal Battle System.
So if you have GTBS + some other Battle System + Yggdrasil you have a whopping 3 BS, now that sounds interesting!
tongue.gif Action Sequences - Something you don't see on an ABS, action sequences allows you create, fancy effects, killer combos and interesting skills.
biggrin.gif IRME Support - This script supports IRME - Icy Random Map Encounters, so you can create enemies with ease and have them ready for the kill.
tongue.gif Skills and Items - Yes there are finally skills and items!

FAQ

Q. Can I use this for commercial projects?
A. As of 28/03/2013, you may use this script for commercial projects free of charge.

Q. I'm getting Jagged/Laggy move scrolling, how do I fix this?
A. Turn the Yggdrasil Switch ON, and then OFF (Place a small wait between that)

Q. Its still laggy.
A. >.> Blame the AI, I'm still working out a Logical Anti-Lag for enemies, just try to keep maps small, and events limited.

Q. How do I change the Attack Animation?

O_O I'm still working on it, its apart of the action sequence script, (I also have to edit the main script again, >.> I wanted to avoid that)
Forget that line, I'll just add it to the main script.

I kinda forgot to setup targeting type weapons, and some projectiles. Sorry about that..

IceDragon......This is definitely one of the better ABS I've seen out there.....

GOOD WORK!!!


Rest assured I will try my hardest to try and break it......meanwhile I need to find my controller blink.gif ......playing this with my directionals was kinda clunky last night (I suck with the directionals.....)

Very nice IceDragon, I played the demo and it's very good, fast paced and fun! I just want to give some suggestion for the addons, maybe this will help you :

-I want to have active party members, and usually people doesn't like to do solo hunting like that, A.I systems like
Kingdom Hearts works well. biggrin.gif

-I wish I could Jump, run, swim,etc. because these thing will give you freedom in RPG . biggrin.gif

-Skill addons.

Well, I can't think anymore, I will wait for the next release.

I noticed something slightly annoying.
If you use attacks or change party member when you are standing in a teleportation event, it teleports you to the defined location.


Pretty good so far, keep up the good work!

I'd figure you'd be used to that, being an ICE dragon and all laugh.gif

Seriously though I have a couple ideas: 1) The boss tag could be used to give a special death animation to a particular monster. 2) You could add destructible monster generators like in soulblazer.

1st - is a bit tricky. >.> I have the resources to do it but... yah.....
2nd - Yggdrasil doesn't really break anything really, there are a couple Jump, Swim and Run scripts lying around. So you can use those
3rd - I'm currently working that out, just a few more tweaks and it should be ready.

Its because you move when attacking. Even though it is just a half tile move out.

1 - Why didn't I think of that earlier! Also I plan to drop in the Big Boss Hud.
2 - IRME Handles this, and with Yggdrasil you can make it destructible by giving it an enemy tag.

So now my Todo list is
1 - Skills System (About 80% Complete)
2 - Actions System (About the same as the skills)
3 - Boss special death anims, and big boss hud (Woot)
4 - Active party battling

*May do these*
5 - Probably the Jumping, swimming, and running (Though I'm sure there are other scripts that do this)

This is quickly and efficiently becoming an ABS of utter awesomeness! Great job, Ice. I will definitely be using in one project or another XD

Oh, and a suggestion, a morale system. When you are taken by surprise by an enemy, they have the advantage for a set amount of time, and if you surprise them, you have the chance for double exp, easier kills, better drop items, etc. Have you ever played Infinite Undiscovery?

Anyways, I think that would be a nice feature to have. And great job biggrin.gif

I echo these thoughts.

Here's some suggestions for you:
1) A summon-type skill that summons a nonplayable/playable (definable of which) summon, similar to FFXII's or FFXIII's summoning system.
2) Active party battling support (summoning could perhaps make all party members other than summoner vanish for summon's duration)
3) Active party battling - when main character is so far away, they break off the attack, and pathfind their way back to the player

Or, maybe, the summoning system could represent that of Final Fantasy Tactics, where you summon the beast, a screen animation plays, and every monster within a radius of the player(definable radius) takes damage. And there would be a recharge for these skills/summons.

Just an idea, possibly both? :3

For the boss tag why not just set a giant hp at the bottom of the screen to show its the boss?

As for skill can you make like a Barrier kind of effect?
Like were the skill would surround you and hurt any enemies that get too close will get hurt and get pushed back. That could be a skill type.

That would be cool...

Might want to add in SUBBOSS tag... or support for more than 1 bosses hp tag if you have it.

MultiBoss Tag:

Could make a 3part boss. IE: 3 different monsters that make up 1 BOSS hp bar at the top/bottom/side of the screen and that hp bar goes down little by little and you can actually kill one of them at a time. (Could add in a resurrection skill/timer that takes 5 minutes and brings one of the multibosses back to life and adds their hp back to the top of the screen.) Would have to disable EXP gain till all 3 were dead if they had a resurrection skill/timer.

Tried the demo and I must say it's pretty damn good

suggestions:

1. Hotkey function like the PRABS one. Should be able to hotkey both items and skills (selected as 'hotkeyed' with a tag or something)
2. A shortcut (opens up when pressing some button) window where all hotkeyable items/skills will show. On that same window/menu you should be able to change hotkeyed item/skill.
3. Breakable events like stones etc... for example; add a comment in the first event tab to make it a breakable item.
Triggered by chosen skills/items instead of the character using it as ordinary events.
4. Pets, just for company or autoattacking.

well the list could go long but I guess you're already pretty busy with this so I'll stop here for now smile.gif

Not sure if you're serious about that question, but I already had them typed up, so... well, here you go.
