Battle Result Window
Version 1.0
by Woratana
Release Date: 05/08/2008

Introduction
I discussed about battle result window for VX with my friend for a while.
The problem is that there is no built-in battle result window in VX.
(The result will show in message box instead)

So I try to script this to see if it's possible to make one.
I put the same information as the battle result window in XP.

Enjoy~ laugh.gif

Nice job woratana. The only beef I have with the script is the "doubling" of the exp/gold result. It displays in your new menu and in the default box on bottom at the same time and looks a little tacky. I do really like the display box you made though with experience to next level and hp/mp status.

I'm definatly going to use this in my game. It looks great and thanks for this!

By the way, I think it would be even greater if it would show your total amount of gold too. Do you think you could add that on there?

- Another question, if you receive items from monster drops, will it show up alright? If I receive around 3 or 4 items, it won't clutter?

Exactly what I would say... (Is there a way I can take off the default box??)

**EDIT**

I mean keep the default box only for when abilities are learned (like in Woratana's screenshot).

Looks pretty awesome!^___^

Maybe someday you could make a new version that resembles final fantasy battle result windows. That would be pretty cool.
Anyway, thanks for this!

Hey nice script buddy, but i was thinking, wouldnt it be cooler if you can change the battle music to lets say a different song when an actor levels up, and a sound effect when an actor learns a new skill? Like in earthBound...

That's what I was going to say. Whenever you finish a battle, the "To next level" EXP part tells you how much EXP the characters need to level up from the start of their level, not how much left is needed to reach the next level.

I think some people are wondering about this. . .

EDIT: Yeah this is a wonderful script, Woratana! And I was also thinking about having a Get Item Window box pop up when you get an item and/or removing the bottom default box, as a suggestion.

I think the script was supposed to do that. IT makes perfect sense in incorporating it, but I, personally, can't really bother whether the EXP shows how much is needed to gain the next leve or how much needed subtracted by how much EXP you already have.

This is a great script though Wora! I don't think I'd use this, but It is great nonetheless! I've seen one version that shows a larger window with faces and such, with one window per character. I'm not so sure if you or someone else made it, but adding, maybe, the character's map image next to the actor's name would make it more aesthtically pleasing. I'm no scripter, but in NMS3, you had the ability to insert images into text. You should be able to include such a feature in this script. It's just a suggestion, not an order.

Keep up the good-- I mean, great work!

I'm fairly certain that's not something to do with the script. You'd have to go to the Vocab section of the script editor and change the line for Obtain Gold. This script just finds what's there and displays it.

So, by default is should say something like: ObtainGold = "%s%s were obtained!"
I'm guessing you'd want to change it to say: ObtainGold = "%s %s were obtained!"

That way there's a space. Someone who actually knows scripting can go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong. wink.gif
