Hey, guys! Kaptain J here, bringing you some soulful tunes that'll blow your mind! Okay, maybe not. That's for you to judge. Ironically, I don't have many examples in the original music department, so I will have to ask that some of you request something for me to work on. I use FL Studio 9: Producer Edition, just so you know. Here are the examples I have so far:

Here is some classical music! Of course, by classical, I mean 8-bit (what else?). Below , you will see some samples from my secret project I've been working on for hours on end recently. This is just some music from the project, though, and will most likely be worked on further. Go ahead, give them a listen. You may hear something familiar...

Requesting a jTune

If you would like me to make you a tune, follow the request form below. And if you are wondering whether or not you should request from me, then, well...why not? You're not paying me. And note that my songs won't all be 8-bit...

Note that I also have a shop over at OmegaDev, so you could always check there, if the slots are full here. That's right, I have a total of 6 slots for requesting and 6 for waiting...

And for those of you who don't know what the point of the waiting list is, I work on all that's on the request list equally. The waiting list is just the list of requests I don't work on, that I will add to the request list when an open slot appears, of which I then start working on it.

Are you using magical-8-bit plugin? And also a NES 4 channel format? I suggest using The NES Soundfont if you're going to do that, because these sound just like GXSCC. And I kinda hate that program... like kinda...
Also, the drums will sound like 8-bit drums if you use that soundfont anyway. You have a good start though, square waves sound really good!

And yes, those are the 4 channels for the NES. Also there's another one called the DPCM channel used to play samples.(most likely Drum samples and other sound effects.)

Nay. What you hear are a few "version 1.0" 8-bit remixes of RTP songs. Of course, once I learn more about these soundfonts, I'll update my studio with better versions

Length: No preference. You can make it for around 2 minutes
Reference: Actually, yes. I want you to make the song from right here. Skip to 2:54, and thats where I'd like you to start making the remix
Other: Could you make the tempo a bit slower than the actual song? But not too slow

Type: Boss Battle, baby.
Style: There's an FF8 soundfont kicking around out there that's pretty good... if you need the file, I could send it to you. Basically, PS1&2 style.
Length: 1.5-2 minutes, and loopable.
Reference: Force Your Way, man. or Still More Fighting. Y'know - something along those lines of intensity and awesomeness.
Other: NOP. But you're awesome for being a composer.

If you wanted to make a normal battle theme in conjunction to that (So that they'd, like, go together), I'd prooobably love you forever.
(If you did decide to do that, one inspired by this would be totally awesomeee~!)
((And seriously - if you did both for me, I'd be available to help you out with stuff someday. Like, I could cook up a set of non-RTP faces for you or something.))

Also, CHEAAAA, FF8! That game is so awesome... I don't know why so many people hate on it. The cast is just soooo awesome!

Depends. The other two requests are just remixes, so I'll work on it soon. I'd say expect it in a week or two. And of course you can have it exclusive. The only exception to exclusives would be remixes, since they aren't originally exclusives.

The only people I've seen having a problem with FF8 are those who analyze the story too closely, and get confused by it...
