Aah very nice, this is really helping out. Just a random map generator based on calculations or something scripty-cody like that... ^^
Also on a side note: If you plan on using continents/islands from multiple generates, you should consider setting the settings to size = 4 and continents = 1. This takes less time, and if you're going to use only one of the islands each time, you have a much likelier chance of getting a good island. Pretty awesome, I appreciate people who are dedicated enough to make an entire program for RMVX (my favorite program being SwapXT obviously)
I usually don't use world maps but if I do I might use this -------------------- Variable/Game_Interpreter Fix

Nice find here. Thanks for posting this.
I use Campaign Cartographer to make manual landmasses, but this application really does the job in a jiffy. *Downloads* -------------------- |

Honestly, I think its pretty annoying to copy it into VX, but then again, I hate mapping in general. But I still think anyone who has the patience to map it all in one go would find this very usefull.

A cool feature I think would be to make it export as a RMVX map.

![]() OBJEC- OVER RULED! ... well crap. ![]() Type: Designer Alignment: Chaotic Good |
I used a program rather similiar to this, though this looks like it would be much easier to use to convert into a RMVX use, I had a program that generated a world though it could take 20 mins + to generate a decent one. I'll definatly give this a look for my upcoming project and let you know how it works out.
And I agree with ZeroManArmy, if a program could do that, it would be full of awesome. This post has been edited by MrE: Jul 4 2011, 12:29 AM -------------------- |

I did a little bit of editing of the map that I made using the generator, makes it look less blocky maybe like a painting, might be useful for using it as a picture in something. I haven't had a whole lot of time yet to fine tune it, add different colors, ect. but a good base at least.

(I hope I'm not necroposting, or anything like that here, but...) This looks interesting. I had been wanting to do world maps, especially individual ones. I'm gonna try it out. (needs to start making towns and such)

I downloaded the program its pretty cool.. as far using it with RPGMVX if figured out if you open the map up in paint or any program and resize it so that each pixel is equal to 32x32 then you can import it into resources as a background and use it as a template. just paint the map with tiles and then delete it when your done..

Is there a way to make it not look so 8-bit? (In the program, I mean like import new map pieces)
Well they look more 6-bit-ish really. -------------------- |

I figured out that you want to generate your map to be 192x192px
Then open it in paint or whatever image editing program and resize it 3072x3072px Then in Rpgmvx you make your map size 96x96 several people have said they love a way to have it auto create the map with tiles so I thinking Im going to write the program. I only have one question and that is how do you find out the tiles index_id so i can have it where based off the 9 colors the generator uses to create the map. each can be assigned to a tile. any ideas on this.. and anyone wanting to help with this task.. In theory this is a great program, but there a a couple problems I'm having with it.
1. The window is immobile. 2. The continents get cut off at the edges, and there doesn't appear to be a Maximize function to the window. This is true even of the exported BMP. Is this normal, or does it just not like WinVista? -------------------- OmniMech Bumper Sticker: Some Assembly Required

I'm wondering how people export this to RMVX? Or is that not possible.
