So I've decided to start working on patch 1.2, there are a good few very valid reasons.

- It takes less time to do a major content patch than half of a full game.
- I've hit a roadblock in Menagerie and am suffering from Writer's block, though I have the whole synopsis played out, I'm having trouble debating how exactly to get the story to curve around simply finding resources in a way that isn't grindy.
- I've done no proper work on skills for the characters, and druids are a difficult class to master if you want shapeshifting, which i bloody well do, basically I'm waiting for a transform character sprite in battle addon for Yanfly Battle Ace or Ramiro's action sequences.
- Intelligence is good and ready to go for another major content patch, it takes about this much time for me to get into it.
- The new faces are so damn charming menagerie cant compete.
- Intelligence is something people are familiar with, and know the stakes, where menagerie is a completely different and new experience.
- Intelligence is still in VX, which means unlike Menagerie, it doesn't require a massive overhaul and not to mention loads of scripts that would need editing.
- I prefer working on Intelligence concurrently, and its heroes are just more lovable.

What this means for you? Patch 1.2 is coming to town, I've only just started though, so don't get ya'll hopes up for anything before atleast March.

Menagerie's deadline is forfeit now, but I stopped giving a shit a while ago.

Also, its been 3 days since I last posted, just to let you know I'm not bumping early, and this was important information.

Intelligence 1.2 is coming along well, all the graphics are done for the time being, the only thing left to do is dev itself.

So theres quite a few cool or just badass changes in this patch.

- All four characters now have 16 weapons, 8 primary and 8 secondary.
- Rolly's fists are his primary, his new offhand is ninja stars.
- Pep's primary is rifles, and secondary is bombs.
- Tristy's primary is staves, secondary is Boomerangs.
- Limbo's primary is swords, his secondary is shields.

- All graphics have been reskinned to sync better with the game world.

- New Planetary exploration system should feel a lot more aesthetic, and more advanced. (its in the basic stages now, it will get better.)

- Decided to ditch map Title screen, it was causing errors with save files when certains scripts were imported, might be back if I can get a scripter to work.

- New logo style, introduction has been modified to look atleast 40% more outragelously awesome.

- New SFX, mostly from VX Ace.

- New battlebacks, mix and matches of vx ace.

- Elemental resistance accessories are gone, and 4 new accesories take its place.

- Modifications to the second flashback where Tristy and her followers imprison Maw. Such as no hanging on the blue meteor coming down that releases maw, and a new picture thats show in Tristy's heroic speech with the fighting cats and dogs.

- The Thunderlord, Jolt, is taking his turn in the spotlight, and making a damn mess of it.

Planned:

- Joltian skybridge assault, with elements from the battle on the bridge where you fought maw, but with hazards, eletric bolts to watchout for, holes being made by exploding cars, and an awesome skydive at the end.

- Points in the game where Jolt will turn the lights out, and you'll be forced to carry a small lantern around.

- Patch 1.1's end of Act boss, Pyro the firelord, is going to get some love, from setting forests on fire to making cars explode spontaneously.

- Vehicles will be a thing, without the oppressive force of Maw or Pyro in the way, Technology has been able to thrive, expect to ride around in speedboats (fast shallow water vehicle, equivalent to boat.) Warsharks (equivalent to the ship) and aircraft. (trying to decide here.)

- Most if not all homestuck references will be removed, I had a sense of humor when this game first came out, and taht was long before I read homestuck, and honestly, Homestuck jokes aren't that funny if you haven't read the comic and don't understand the gimmick.

- Reskinning Mr universe to not just be a blue Doc Scratch, will think about it.

- the possibility of a new character being introduced is present, but it'll likely be left to 1.3

- Rideable cars that boost your speed are a possibility. Since it will give more to just fucking around.

- Possibility of making the gold coast (a city between lismore and brisbane) a thing.

- Brisbane will be made into a bigger more excitable city.

- Very likely chance the 'World of the east coast' map will be going away, due to the fact its so massive and grows bigger with each patch. Instead, it will probably be cut up simarly to a giant rectangular puzzle, or maybe not, I might just revert to the ol' instance method. (This will make aircraft impossible and rather redundant.)

- First five levels will be on earth, other 5 on Byteopia where Jolt will basically wreck havoc.

- Slight possibility of converting to Ace if scripting support is given for a similar system to tankentai. (if there is already a Tankentai for Ace out there, please let me know.)

Phew, I think thats about everything, now remember, its a possibility things might change, and this is an ambitious patch, but its what I want to do.

Also, if big maps stop being a thing (i.e. I cut 'World of the East Coast' from the map list.) I won't need to use Anary's Anti-lag script anymore.

Working solidly on dev.
DONT FLIP OUT, THE NEW PATCH ISNT HERE YET, IM JUST REORGANIZING THE FRONT PAGE SO I DONT HAVE TO DO SO MUCH WORK IN THE LONG RUN.
All graphics are repainted, all user bars redone, a first page ready for launch, another 3 months or so of dev and kaplow.

I'll probably shoot for 6/18/12, but dont hold on to that, its not a promise, just a goal!

This patch is ambitious as this game has ever been, it will take a fair while.

Small bugfix patch to stomp the following errors.

Patch 1.1.6
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a cosmetic issue in the scene where pep returns to the apartments and he missed the door by 4 steps, and so it looked odd.
- Fixed small bug that could be game-breaking if the player transferred back to Mallanganee after the necropolis training was complete, giving them a file missing error.
- Fixed the hang and odd Nature behind the falling Maw meteor in Tristy's flashback, it was caused by the unusual behavior of scrool map, and so now a player simply goes.

New Download on first post.

Yo dawg, I herd you liek necroposts, so heres one right here.

Anyway, I wouldn't revive an old topic without just cause.

1.1.9 is coming, and very soon, what this patch will do in essence, is revamp the graphics, re-arrange music, add 48 new weapons, change a few things around, enchance some animations that were lacking (Gotta love VX Ace importing), dignify a few really sucky maps, rectify the "World of the East Coast" map, remove practically every single homestuck joke (they're not that funny if you haven't read the comic), redo a few flavor texts which weren't humurous enough, adding all the VX Ace sound effects, adding a little more voice acting here and there and in purpose, preparing the games for Act 3 (Patch 1.2).

What this means for you is you will get to play with new graphics, better audio and have a heck of a time and give you the chance to prepare for 1.2.

To keep in mind, saves from 1.1.0 up until 1.1.6 will not be compatible, but 1.1.9 saves will be compatible with 1.2.0

I'll have some videos up soon showing what the fcuk I've been doing for the last month while ya'll soaked up 1.1.0 and its bugfix patches.

Probably will make a 1.1.9 version of the 1.1.x trailer just for the hell of it, and also because it will look a heckload more awesome.

In a world where graphics have basically become notoriety, I'll offer a bit of that and a heapin helpin of the other stuff you've come to know and love from Intelligence.

The quirky characters, the charm that comes from their goofy faces, and the hecktacious mixture of fun, epic, and comedy will now be assisted by the fact it wont look like complete shit. (because apparently thats what you wanted. :P)

Man, this is some weird shit right here, I leave this thread alone for 32 days and I eventually grow the spine to make a post, and a rated review appears only minutes later.

So, for the mapping, I will be doing a hells lot more with it in 1.1.9, which is soon to come, I'm not at all sure why the graphic score is 8/10, because to be honest, the graphics (in the version you would have played anyway) look like garbage. : /

But I'm not going to get all out of line, it has been ages since I've had a rated review, so thanks Edgewing. I am improving the layout too, choice boxes are being modified a fair bit, so that they should feel aethetic, the space travel dealie is being changed a fair bit, and theres probably other tweaks Ive made that I have forgotten about.

I'll make a vid of Neo-Brisbane once I can get a screen capture program that isn't going to be a pile of fat nasty trash, and yeah, hopefully that mapping may impress you a fair bit more than what you would have come to expect from the urban run down cityscape of the old brisbane you would know.

Because honestly, it doesn't even look like a city, it looks like a slum.

So yeah, This happened.

Patch 1.1.9
General:
- Asides from item icons, all art has been redone, and the tilesets modified in such a way as to not force the game to look like shit.
- Faces are now 192x192 pixels, allowing for extra expression and less limitations on size.
- Additional flare has been added to existing cutscenes, the most notorious example of such would be The War between Cats and Dogs and the Opening Sequence.
- Universal Travel has been modified and feels a fair bit more aesthetic.
- Galaxia has been given a face lift (again) and the art for each Galaxion has been updated.
- Music Rearrangement has taken place, all World of Warcraft music tracks are gone (thank god) and scenes should play a lot more aesthetically.
- The Map of the East Coast is gone, It was too big, took too long to load, and made events bug if they were outlying too far from center.
- Map Title Screen script removed for now, but it did not go without reason.
- Players can now have up to 99 save slots.
- Many maps have seen small to significant redos, examples of small touch ups include Tristy's Attic (Verandah again), Tristy's House, Brisbane (only a little, sadly, until neo brisbane anyway.), Roof, Pep's Hovel, Rolly's Shelter, Tristy's Apartment, The Pacific Highway, Casino, Prison of the Frostlord, Prison of the Firelord (and the others too.), The Darkvoid, Spriteopia and The Necropolis. Significant Redos of maps include all stages of the Untai Shrine and Brisbane in Act 3, which I will let you take a look at, the game will end when you attempt to teleport up to the skybridge.
- 64 weapons now take the spotlight, but in truth, you'll only see 24 of them pre-1.2 (sorry!).
- Each character has a choice of two weapon types, based mostly on preference, since currently the mechanics for each weapon are practically the same.
- The Sleep, Shop and Explore commands are gone from the main menu, there are now inns and shops that dot the land and you can find your Galaxion Zipper post Maw's Defeat at departure island.
- In order to seal the above change, Tents no longer exist as an item.
- Trains, Buses and Monorails now dont all look like Buses, Monorails look like Monorails, Trains look like Trains and Buses look like Buses, obviously. (All modifications to Pineda's Bus sprite, seriously nothing will defeat that thing.)
- Many skills and some items have been renamed to feel less like they were pulled from Final Fantasy and more like I thought of them, hopefully.
- Limbo has been modified slightly, he now has two more skills to learn, and he has become unique because of the star on his shirt.
- All other Skeletopians now do not have a yellow star on their shirt.
- Choiceboxes have been redesigned to be less shitty and support waypoints.
- More polish and flavour text has been added around, its fun to do!
- Safiercat has been renamed Safael and his sprite has been updated to not look like a garrish piece of shit.
- Got rid of shitty singular resistance trinkets (Maw's essence, Pyro's essence etc.) and added four new ones with meaningful effects.
- New animations have been placed, most noticeably those from VX Ace.
- All VX Ace sound effects are now in the game, but are currently not all used because theres a lot of them.
- A lot of battle commands have been changed in name.
- New Battlebacks, ported from VX Ace and possibly modified by my own doing.
- Pyro got a new mechanic that is... well wait and see! He also now goes by turns instead of health, dont worry about killing him too quickly, it wont be a thing to worry about. (Unless you beat me at my own game. :P)
Characters:
All characters have a new skill at level 30, that they will be able to test out on Pyro.
Rolly
- His class has been redacted to Brawler. His abilties command is now 'Green Esteem!'.
- He can now choose either Fisticuffs or Ninja Stars for weapons.
Pep
- His Class is now called Demolionist. His abilties command is now 'Destruction!'.
- He can now choose either Rifles or Bombs for weapons.
Tristy
- She is still in the class of 'Cleric'. Her abilities command is now 'Transendance!'.
- She can choose either Staves or Boomerangs for weapons.
Limbo
- He is still a 'Guardian', his abilities command is now 'Party Fever!'.
- He can choose either Swords or Shields for weapons.
- He has two new abilities, Antematter Blast (Single target wrecking blast that is unreliable in hitting, but if it hits does 750 Damage and inflicts Burn, Blind and Silence.) and Death Storm (All target storm of death that inflicts death or does 500 damage to all opponents who are immune to such effects.)

Boy, that sure did come out of nowhere!

Updated to fix two game breaking bugs I spotted while my friend was playtesting (a fair ways in) and a few other things.

Patch 1.1.9 - Build 2
General:
The Installation of the project is now a little more complex, but will make it easier for me to update in the long run, VX's size cap of 128 megabytes is the cause, so when you download the newest version, the zip will contains an extractable game application, as well as an archive with the games bgm, extract it into the games Audio Folder.
Removed Limbo's ability to Summon the Necropolis, instead, you may now visit the cemetary south of Brisbane and north of Lismore and enter the abbey there.
Bugfixes:
When killing Maw, Safael would remain in the party and get the experience for his death because he died before he was meant to, and then the game would crash, fixed by adding Maw's Immortal tag back.
Magnamose under certain conditions, would kill the party with his final phase, this has been corrected.
Fixed a few inconsistencies.
The RTP version was misplacing the title screen, using the VX default, this was caused by it favoring the .png format over .jpg, the easy correction was to replace the jpg wth a .png version.
Some other small things I probably forgot.

After the massive on-site revolt against iEntry and the bitter leaving of most of our beloved admins, this site is upon dark times, and thus, while Im not getting many replies on the games thread, Im not the only one, this is the first bump in 11 days and only 6 games have been replied to since, im still #7 on the list, this site is as inactive as Omega-dev now, actually I've gotten a reply there, weird!

This once bustling epicentre of RPG Maker VX activity is now a dwindling husk on the precipise of oblivion, most of the admins and famous members have absconded to places anew, and we are left with the crumbs that the woodpeckers eat.

Well atleast you guys are, Im going global all up in here, by which I mean, Im simply posting this on more than one site.

Its amazing, really, how a single infiltrator can cause such havoc, while most of the admins absconded gleefully to a new home of promise, the promise was a lot less enjoyable when it displays a lack of members.

Despite being on the official Rpgmaker sites forum, they lack the numbers we all had here pre-revolt. While they would gleefully abscond, it wasn't without some bitterness they would realise that iEntry had gotten the better of us all in the end.

Back before the revolt, this thread got a fair bit of activity, not as much as some, that goes without saying, but its been dead now, and a patch is usually always a reason for people to start rushing back in, and it was spring break (to my knowledge) so usually that warrants practically immediate vassalage.

The revolt has ensured my threads both here and in the new promise land have gone unreplied, and im sure many people are feeling similar voids.

The decline in thread replies is not my fault personality or developer wise, it goes to a horoscope much broader than that.

While I admit, this is practically a fancy coat of paint with music re-arrangement, people have found reasons to praise bugfix patches (1.1.4 comes to mind), so yeah, I'm not buying that this is my fault despite the apparent lack of content.

There is content, theres new things, especially post Act 3, oh yeah, I did mention you can go a little into Act 3 right, yeah I thought so.

Well anyway, gonna go post this on RMRK, since as of now, they are the biggest RPG maker site that I am either not banned from (#RRR) or just never really felt belonging in (HBgames) and havent posted my game at.

I will say that I am absolutely ecstatic with how this game turned out, 7/10 maybe not be the best score for everyone, but its damn well good enough for me, especially after my last games pitiful failure. (its called Terra, heres a tip, dont play it, its awful.) That game took up the first three years of my rpg maker experience, because i made the unbeleivable mistake of releasing a demo to see what people thought, and made an 8 hour long campaign before I released it. To get only a 2/10 was something i could have avoided and should have expected, and now its been proved to me that making demos (especially early in development) and then keep going from there is a great idea, only 3 months did it take too make the first demo of this game, 0.1 was released out of nowhere on 3/14/2011 at 10:51 AM (Syndey time), and wile my first few posts were a tad uncharitable (a certain unbeleivable jerk fayse D8< makes a mess) but once someone actually plays the game, bam, through the roof, flying colors. 7/10 on my first review, and another identical score proceeding it. Then an 8/10, I must also confess my utmost gratefulness towards Pine for supporting my project and dealing with FlowyS, so yeah, 3 months and getting 7/10 was a milestone, compared to three years and getting a 2/10.

Since then, I have yet to see the games rating dip below 7/10, only once going above it, but still, I am so happy with how this game has gone, and it still has such a bright future, I promised Peva I wouldn't let it die, and by my brothers top hat and the monocle I dont have I am going to see to it that I keep such a promise.

And there I go, being all melodramatic, I really need to stop doing that.

Anyway, I am pleased with how this game has gone, and I have big plans for 1.2, which may possibly involve a skybridge battle minigame with enviroonmental hazards, a hefty death course along some 'active' traintracks 5000 ft above solid ground and a skydive back to earth which may involve dodging missiles and making a crater in the cement but still somehow incredibly survive.

All in the first 10 minutes of Act 3.

Yeah, Jolts pretty crazy. I've actually laid out the road work for the most latterly of those three hectic events, the first two are practically already in motion, I havent added the incoming trains to phase 2 yet or got all of the environmental hazards sorted, but I'm working on it now.

Ya'll are gonna love this patch, I just know it! The release date i am aiming for is 6/28/2012, but it might be left to 3/14/2013 assuming were all still alive then and that december 23rd does end the world as we know it which is as likely as half of the other worldbreaking theories we've endured over the past two decades.

Bugfix Patch is up, enjoy!

Patch 1.1.9 (Build 3)
General:
- All JPEG artefacts are now PNG, with the exception of all but one battle background.
- Brisbane got a new battleback, credit to Ronove.
- Introduction and Departure from Earth changed slightly.
- End of Act Bosses now have smaller battlers.
- The Game Launch Icon has changed to something more Iconic.
- Title Screens were modified to contrast less colorwise.
- The ship interface for "Old Ones" in the Introduction has changed color to make it less seemingly identical to Galaxion console.
- Gameover Inducing buttons removed.
- Gameover PSYCHE removed. Have plans to add it in somewhere later.
- BlueSky changed to VX Ace instead of incompetently put together homestuck cloudscreen.
- A few graphics have changed due to my inability to back shit up.
- Pep's Happy mood face has been changed to something less creepy and irrefusably more charming.
- The Angry and Sad Emotion of the Rolly faceset have been changed to give more charm.
- The Wink, Unamused, Angry and Sad Emotions of Tristy's Facesets have been changed in favour of more charm.
- Changed the faces of most of the Ancient Ones.
- A few bits of flavour text have been changed.
Encounters:
- Heelfoxes in brisbane reduced from 4 to 2.
- Shadow Pixies in Spriteopia down from 8 to 4, the mimics are no longer there and instead simply give one item each.
Bugfixes:
- Fixed an issue with Pep's Elemental Fury ability which would on occasion cause Pep to turn invisible instead of growing, now he has an animation play that maybe slightly familiar.
- Fixed a bug that could be gamebreaking which involved entering gaseous when you werent meant to.
- Fixed a gamebreaking issue with Pyro caused by a missing Tankentai sequence he invoked near the end of battle.
- Fixed the passability of some recently modified events.
- Fixed a bug which may have been causing Galaxia to be un-enterable.
- Fixed a few typos and mistakings, such as Trixie which should be Tristy.
- Safiercat's name should now be fully redacted. Safael should have replaced every form of Safiercat.
- Fixed a bug with Old Mac's Munchies that when exited would drop you out the exit of Kirsill's Kiosk.
- Fixed a Gamebreaking Bug that occured when leaving the training halls in the Necropolis prematurely.
- Probably heaps more I forgot about.

Very small bugfix patch.
Patch 1.1.9 (Build 4)
General:
- Ryu's Pendant was changed to Blu Pendant and now gives 5% MP Regen instead of double experience gain, which was breaking the game in some cases.
- Nerfed the Damage multiplier on Party Fever slightly.
Encounters:
- Cenobites had their health increased to 5000 from 750.
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug that occured with Lingoless Lament if you got it early be means of bonus experience gain, and tried using it on Cenobites which would cause an error to occur, removing its death infliction on attack nullified the issue.
- Fixed up some coherency between what happens in game and the Biography on the Status Menus.
- The party now ages 10 years on the status menu when you begin act three.
- Fixed a cosmetic faceset error when you went to hope post-plantation.
- Lingoless Lament no longer ignores defence, meaning it wont pierce Pyro's barrier.

Well, good to see you still hanging in there. I just read through your May 9 posting, and I have to agree with a lot of what you said. The problem with a lot of sites dealing with multiple makers is it's easy for any one game to be overlooked because of the program it was designed on, which is part of why I never felt at home with the new site. At least here, prior to the revolt, you had a family of people all dedicated to one particular program.

Hopefully you'll continue to update your game the way you know how to. And one day I'm sure you'll find the game completed to your standards.

It's good to hear from you again. Dont worry, I'll continue to update this thread along with the five others I have around the cybersphere, I'll probably post each new game I make here with VX as well.

The only thread I have officially debunked is the one at rpgmakerweb, not solely for the lack of attention either, I didnt feel at home.

Despite most of the people who once ran here being over there, I still feel a lot more homebound here, RPGmakerWeb alienates me so I lost interest.

Also, with how quickly I pump out bug fixes and small updates, keeping five threads up to date is enough of a strenuous effort.

How's HBgames? I've only been there very sparsely, and it was back when they were rmxp.org.

The Release of Patch 1.2 is now inconclusive, however, Menagerie is practically confirmed for 12/12/12, also as much as I may not like it, I cannot update progress on menagerie or post it on rpgmakervxace.com because I did something really dumb.

Both Hellcat and Intelligence are winners for Demo of the Year and Game of the Year 2012 Respectively, I hope this establishes how god damn awesome I am and how lucky you all are that I dropped you all this wicked science.

If you have not yet played this game, here's your wake up call. Nothing else needs to be said, though it will because I'm a self-indulgent twat.

A long time down the road I plan to remake this in 3D and with obviously a different engine and more cool stuff. I'd imagine the style would be like that weird ass game for the Playstation, with the Cat called Toro.

Also relevant, when that does come around I'll be having VA's for the characters. Here's a video showcasing Rolly, Tristy and Pep's VA by me.

Chances are when I make Intelligence: Rainbow Reacharound or whatever, Pep will be the only voice I do, and the remainder of VA will be in-house CCC members, friends and family of CCC members and possibly Open Audition depending on how many things come up.

Oh, the CCC. That's some more news I should forecast; Bizarre Monkey Productions is ceasing as a company and re-branding to Crazy Chimp Collective, I'll still be known as the Bizarre Monkey but I wont be at the forefront of the company, even I don't like being that self indulgent.
