Thanks, I'm very happy with how it is turning out.

To everyone else, Patch will be coming very soon with a small extension to the demo's story (This is what i am working on now :3). and many other cool features which include.

- Cutting Excess Fat off the Chat logs.

- Semi-new opening cinematic, it is a little experiment, if people don't like it, I will change it, but it was pretty bland before.

- A New Mini-game where you have to steal fish from the market, (Per Sketcy-Sketch's suggestion.) My friend Raven Blue Indigo suggested Prof. Meow Meow's Stealth detection system.

- Touched up maps, the maps aren't so bland and boring, and the Necropolis has some new rooms for you explorers out there. Nesmose actually has his own pocket of exisence now.

- The Training halls have been cut down to six rooms, and Nesmose's level adjusted accordingly.

- Some maps have been made bigger, some smaller, I also made my own map for the open meadows, before it was a ready made one from the RTP Pre-packaged Extras

- Credits PC added at the beginning of the game, ust outside the Trio's 3 Floor skyscraper :3

- More polish

- And probably more things I forgot about.

I feel like I should comment since I played your game recently and it looks like you're working hard on it.

First things first though; I really like your style even if most would consider it low quality.
I also really liked the interaction with certain objects the characters owned xD

The story so far is interesting and I enjoy the battles (which very rarely happens)

The one thing I must add is that I wasn't too keen on the arrows, but I can see why some people would want them.

I'll make sure to keep an eye out for extra demo content in the future, keep it up you're going in the right direction imo.
Last thing to add (tis a spoiler, all who have not played do not read):

I like that Pep didn't just free Maw cuz he wanted to know what he looked like, instead his desire to see Maw allowed him to take over Pep's actions up to his release.

Yes indeed, I have been working hard on it, I had to multi-task 5 different things a lot of days, and thank you for commenting on it. :D

I wasn't sure whether having a battle every 15 steps was appealing to a lot of people, when taken in smaller doses battles can be a lot more enjoyable. (though maybe i can find room to fit more)

I didn't add them past the necropolis, so we'll see how people go, the arrows are good in the necropolis because it is very easy to get lost otherwise.

Oh dear, I changed it to Pep being a curiosity killed the cat plot next time, would you like it back to Maw influencing Pep's actions. I just thought I was going a bit too far on the "Ancient One" (Also read Old God, Cthulu Mythos etc.) stuff. Tell me what you think.

My response to your response also in spoilers yet again:

When put that way it still makes sense; but by putting it in the original context it makes more sense to how Pep could bypass all the crazy security measures. Either way though it is your game and Maw needs to be released somehow xD. Use which plot idea you like best.

Okay, I finally got around to playing it (been busy awhile).
And let me say, it's awesome.

The story is really well-written and very funny. It doesn't seem too take itself too seriously, and that's
what I like in comedy games. Speaking of comedy, you're a comedic genius. happy.gif

The maps were....okay. Some of them, like the Market, Outside the Apartment, and the Roof needs
some work. They look kinda bland. Try to liven them up with NPC's, y'know? I would also recommend limiting
the HQ of those...weird alien things (excuse me, I forget their names.) The lag there is incredible.
It took me a few minutes to get to the leader. Either limit it into a few maps, or get a lag reducer script,
because that almost stopped me from playing.

The character graphics look like they were made in MS Paint.
In this case, it's alright. But they look weird when they are mixed with the RTP. :/

Finally, the green arrows. I think some of them should be removed.
Some of them can help, but some point out the obvious. In one of the halls, there are four arrows
leading to the same place. I think common sense would know you would have to go forward.

That's my mini-review for ya. I'm going to be like IGN now.

I expected this, especially if you are playing Version 0.1, I will be fixing these maps in 0.3. I've said it before, I polish my maps after I get the basics down, I have already polished Brisbane (Outside the Apartment) and the Market in 0.3 (which are now one map). I didn't even think of Polishing up the roof, great idea! (done) Adding of NPC's is also a good idea, I will do that too.



I should have thought of it before. :3

I assume you are talking about the Necropolis? (I'm not really sure, weird alien things make me think of the Exodus (which are actually humans) and I don't know what HQ could stand for other than high quality? I have no lag when wandering, but I have a really good computer. I will try getting an Anti-lag script for 0.3 (Done)

They are made in MS Paint, then enhanced in Paintshop Pro 7 with inner bevel, and sometimes texture effects to give them a more 3D look.

@Peva: I don't plan to let it die, thanks for your support. :D

0.3 is in the works and I will list some of the features coming.

-Map Names being shown on screen.

-The Title Screen, load screen, and game over screen are now presented as interactive maps! (done, and they are really cool!)

-A new party member! A Wacky dude who you may have met before. He will be a meat shield for your party. (Done for the patch but he's not fully where I want him yet)

-Hopefully 30 minutes of additional game-play. (done)

-Enhanced maps. Some maps have been merged. (done)

-No more RTP faces (done) save for some from RPG 2k. (because I do not feel like drawing a cow, a sheep, a horse and a chicken.)

-Towns and meadows aren't unpopulated any longer. Differing NPC's will be on maps that should have a population over 1.(Done)

-The Necropolis is finished. Another small pocket of existence has been created, awaiting any explorer who may stumble upon it.(done, asides from events in library)

-An Anti-lag script has been added, some people have made complaints of lag on older computers, this should be fixed.\

-Arrows are only used where needed.

All in all this is still the biggest update since release, thus it is taking me time.

Its ready now though, see first post.

Well I gave this a play test. I don't try to spend as much time with demos anymore, considering I'm so busy with everything else, but if I did spend a good 30/45 minutes with this and will have to say this looks awesome. The story is good, the characters are amusing, and I'm not too worried about the mapping. In fact, being that the focus is primarily in the perspective of the animals, I think the mapping gets done what it needs to do and shouldn't get overly complicated. I'd rather see the game get completed first, and then go back to make additional updates.

In any case, much much better than Terra, although I would be interested in a complete/more balanced version of that game as well.

My only real suggestion. You start the game in the present, you fight some monsters. Then the scene shifts to the past, and the HP you had remaining in the present is the same in the past. Considering that (at least to the point that I played) there's not many alternatives for restorative healing, I would suggest that until such a place (like an inn) becomes available, that you auto heal the party in between major scene changes.

Well, I would love to invest further in this, but I'd prefer a complete game. So... any ideas as to a time table for getting most of this game done?

Thanks, I'm glad you like the characters and story, the game is going to take a while to complete. But i will probably just keep adding and adding onto it. There will be optional content once 1.0 is complete.

Yes indeed, much better than Terra. As for re-balancing Terra, I may do it after this game has finished and I have an idea, but i may as well just make something completely new but with same kind of world and stuff, you know, the few things people liked. That's actually a pretty good idea, I did this to extensively in Terra, but you are right, I will add a few (Recover all) events in the past and present switches. That is not hard, and I will see about making the present at the beginning, even I notice the the sudden time shifts, but I'll go address that some other time.

It may be a while, it could be 3 months to a year, I'm really not sure. I've got myself and my top men on the job getting things going. But it's hard not to get distracted, especially since my brother recently got me into homestuck. I've also come down with a relatively harmless but still annoying flu. But fear not, I've been taking good care of myself. I will have to delay 0.3 though, because of... complications. But It should be up and running in less than a week, but I'll say again, no promises.

As it turns out, this game won't be as long as I planned, the next version will likely be a release candidate. 0.3 is out, Don't be surprised if the next version is 1.0, I didn't foresee it happening this fast, I wish I could provide an epic length, but I think it would just drag it out unnecessarily, thus making it not so epic.

You can probably expect this game to be ready for release in a month or two, until then, I encourage you to give 0.3 a good try, I think you will thoroughly enjoy it.

Bump(because all the cool kids are doing it) and future content update.

I have finished the extra 30 minutes of storyline, the fourth party member is at a good stage, from here on its bugfixing and playtesting for 0.3.

The next version might be a release, the story has ended up being shorter than the epic I was going for, but it is best not to drag out a game if it is not needed. And i have said once 1.0 is out i will be working on many cool side quests, minigames, and free-roaming exploration.

The 0.3 update I will guarantee to be at least 50% more epic than what you have already seen. It will be released tomorrow or by the end of today (depending on where you live)

My flu is no longer present (asides from a sore throat when I get up), now all I have to deal with is a toothache. ._____.

Below are the massive amount of features, you can also read this on the front page. Have fun.

Patch 0.3

General:
Updated Credits.
Added even more to the story, including epic star-ship and Galactic scenes and another 2 mini-games.
RTP Facesets are no more, asides from simple NPC's that walk around.
The Skeleto have got some love which has given them a new sprite (frankensprite and recolour of RTP), and a completely new custom face-set.
Another 30 Minutes of additional gameplay, Guaranteed to be more epic than previous epic gameplay.
Another hidden pocket of existence is now in the Necropolis for the explorer's out there.
The Title Screen and game over now have a Map, aswell as the load screen.
Spruced up a lot of maps, and added some new ones, the spruced up maps include Tristy's House, Tristy's Verendah, The Roof of the brisbane Apartment, Open Meadows(some more) and Mallanganee, Brisbane, the Market and a Part of the pacific highway have been fused into one map. New Maps include an island untouched by humans, a new pocket of existence for the explorers, The Pacific highway which also has southern Brisbane included. A Museum, a Mansion, a Subway and an Aquarium have been added in the new parts of the plot. You also get to go to a new Planet. (though only briefly)
A map names script has been added.
All Party members have been given Death quotes.
An antilag script has been implemented (Yes, I did get around to this, I found workarounds for the bugs)
A new Party member has been added, he shall be the meat-Shield for the party. (Though I can't seem to get Threat working just yet)
Encounters:
Atleast 3 new encounters have emerged (sorry there couldn't be more.)
