Party System
Version: 1.03 by: Zetu


Introduction
Tired of relying on Eventing to change your party? This script will allow you to customize your party with ease (for both the player and developer).

Instructions
Install and customize following in script instructions. By default, starting party members are set for unlocked, while other party members are locked. You will not be able to add/remove Locked actors from your party.

Installation
Insert this script in the Materials section above Main.

nice script. but would it be possible to do something like this -

some party members (which are locked) will not be visible until the developer wants them to. and then also have the option for them to be visible and locked.

hope you understand what i am saying. if you do and yes is the answer to my question then how? cause i am no scripter.

That is actually coming up. Right now, within class Game_Actor, there is @locked (default == true) and @unlocked (default == false) (both boolean). When added for the first time, it is permanently unlocked. I had some... errors trying to hide them. For now, you can just have a blank face graphic for the non-unlocked actors, although you'll still have to deal with the text, which I'll remove in v1.02.

Only it gives me error on line 312...

You mean "y = xo/2 * 96 + WLH / 2"? Give me a better description. Copy/Paste the line and tell me what the error says.

I also had a problem with your script and was wondering if you could help me.

I copied and pasted your script from the site you said and read a tutorial about adding menu buttons and did everything to the letter. It gave me a bunch of errors. So i went back to square one and started from the top to figure out where the errors started. Found out I got an error just by posting your script. I copied and pasted from the raw section on the site you gave me and was wondering where I went wrong

The error says

Script 'Game_Party' line 164: NoMethodError occured
undefined method '[] for nil:NilClass

---
I found this beyond off as I wasn't even near that part of the script. I did as you said and right clicked under materials, clicked insert, and then copied and pasted the script into the new area created.

NOTE: This error doesnt start when the game opens up but when I click on new game
Any help would be awesome

Could you be more specific as to where it is... my line 164 is "def initialize", and don't see any arrays nearby.

I really would love to use this script in my game project, however I keep on having an issue with it that's driving me mad.

Whenever I attempt to take a step in-game with this script in my project, an error comes up as:

Script 'Game_Party' line 155: NoMethodError occured.
Undefined method '+' for nil:NilClass

This happens in every project I test it in. Could you please help me?

I like how nobody specifies what it is... I have made changes to the script, so my version is different. Therefore, our line numbers are different. Please tell me under which def and copy/paste the line itself.

Got this error. Pretty sure I don't put in Party System v1.02 as the title for the script or anything. sad.gif

I even put in Materials. Engima Ferrum has nothing to do with that other game: Celestial Ferrum.

Nevermind that error. The link on your first post is still inked to V 1.02 btw, I found V 1.03 and the step error is fixed.

I'm using your Menu system, and when I select Party in menu items it gives me the error

"NoMethodError occured while running script.

Undefined method 'Scene_PartySys'for # <Scene_Menu:0x2bf74f0"

Any idea what that means?

I pasted the script above Main (I also did this in a fresh project to make sure it wasn't compatibility issues) - and when I use an event to call

CODE
$scene = Scene_PartySys
it gives me this error:



which is referring to line 10 in Main:

CODE
$scene.main while $scene != nil


I'm probably doing something wrong if I'm getting an error like that right? Hope you can help me out. smile.gif
