I like the title picture, pretty beastly. Story doesn't sound very original, but then again, neither does mine. Hopefully that means the story is actually pretty good. How long do you expect the game to be?
One thing about the mapping, when you use the mountainous wall tiles, and then the grassy tops, they clash. I don't know if you can notice, but they just don't look quite right together. Maybe its just me. -------------------- |

Well, right now, it is a bit hard to tell because I've focused on mapping and writing down the story.
The demo will be expected to last 20 to 30 minutes and will not include the major sidequests. As for the full version, it could be around 1 hour long if you go straight for the main quest, but around 1h30 if you follow the sidequests. I will make a note once I time it. As for the grassy tops, I don't think it clashes that much. It is hard to make hills or grassy cliffs with RTP, though... -------------------- |

The story sounds like it has been done before."He never met his father, and lost his mother at 21" I think I've gone through this story in about 97% of all the games I see. If only some could make a game about a boy who has a loving father who he talks to often and has a mother with immortality. I do agree with GrandMasterTrea about the grass and the cliff. I also really hate it when the main character is one of the few people who can see a fairy or something like that. Again someone should make a fairy that can't be seen by the main character but can still be heard. But there is a draw back to that because I've seen that too so I;'d make the fairy unhelpful and annoying. Other then that the mapping seems about as good as you can do with RTP.

An hour long game seems REALLY short. I'm having trouble seeing alot of storytelling go into it.

This could be a great eye opener to newbies or the types of RMer's that aren't determined enough,
It's great what can be done with the default RTP and I love this project so far, well done brother -------------------- ![]() Projects I solemnly support:~ Spoiler: |

Thank you guys for showing some support!
I'm sorry I am late with this project. I overworked last week and needed a bit of rest. Hopefully, I'll be able to release a good demo before I go on holidays. About the demo: Spoiler: If you want to volunteer to beta-test the demo, PM me. (I don't need many testers, though, but their names will be included in the credits) I'll add the few RTP reworks on the main thread (except the ressources made by cdx, namely title and gameove screens). @Ostrich: Well, I have to agree with you that it seems terribly cliché, but in facts, these elements have a role in the story (but telling it out loud would spoil the story, so I decided to remove them from the presentation and put them in spoiler tags). Besides, I truely think that it is unfair and non rational not to use Ralph's face just because it was over-used, should I say, in a wrong way. Would you feel the same if it were Ulrika's face or another popular RTP or Mack character's face ? Ralph's face has something unique among all the actors set: he looks innocent, idealistic, and common. That's why I picked him up. But if people don't like it, so be it. But they should not judge a game on such a criteria. @GrandMasterTrea: it's hard for me to give an acute expectation of how long the game would be. Since the story is quite simple, it is hard to make a long and good game out of it. I'd rather like people to think that a game is good but short, rather than long and boring. There is some kind of a puzzle to be solved, but I don't know if they really are difficult to solve... Also, I haven't completed a full cutscene yet, so I can't make an average expectation of how long it adds to the game. @Ooda: I hope it goes the way you say ! -------------------- |
