Orb Puzzle Event System
By Sean of Arc

Well, I saw a charset, and I just made this to go with my game. I thought it was pretty nice, so I'm posting it! Basically, you place orbs in pedestals to open doors, melt ice, catch things on fire, anything you want, all with the help of switches! And I was lazy and added an Item pop-up script, mainly because I transfered the event system straight from my game to the Demo...

1. First off, Here is the Charset I'm referring to. (I did some editing to it from the original) Credit Matsuo Kaito for the originals.

And this one from the same person is also used in the Demo:

2. Before we actually get going, I have spare time, and 3 more colors to use yet, so any ideas for Orbs? (You should probably read the whole thing first before giving any input...)

LET'S BEGIN!

Part 1: A-Z Vocabulary
Spoiler:
Connection- Wires that connect pedestals to other events
Knowledge Orb- First Orb, ice-based
Orb- Placed in pedestals; so far, there are three types
Pedestal- Orbs are placed in these
Power Orb- Second Orb, fire based
Static Orb- Third Orb, thunder-based (Not shown in current demo, working on more chambers)

Part 2: Actual Events
Spoiler:
Here are screen shots of the actual events. But not ALL of them.

First is the Pedestal Event.
Page 1-
On this page, I created a system that would show options of which Orbs that can be placed in the Pedestal.

Page 2-
Plays a sound effect, and turns on a switch that allows the system to register what Orb has been placed in the Pedestal.

Page 3-
This page allows you to take back the orb that's been placed.

The rest of the pages are just variations made for the other two Orbs.

And the Connection Event.
Page 1-
How it looks normally.

Page 2-
How it looks with an Orb in a pedestal.

And the last two are variations of page 2.

Part 3: Demo Download
Spoiler:
Here is a link to the demo (no RTP)-
Orb Event Demo 1.01
The rest of the information and some examples are in there.

Tell me what you think. All criticism is welcomed.

This looks really cool! I might use this in a future game.

P.S. You're demo is REALLY flawed. Make sure you fix the transfer events, and either add the BGM you used, or change it to one everyone has. Other than that, good job.

I like the char sheets. Sorry that I don't have much feedback on the tutorial, cause I could probably event this, but it does look pretty clever so good job

Try not to post spam that is wholly about pointing out how great you are at eventing. - Celianna.

I like the whole idea of it and it's not bad but does the crystals actually blend in well with RTP? They look like a different style?

@dragonmark-
Thanks! I know, I'm updating it now.

@kingsofrpg-
Thank you. I only edited the first one. the second I just got from google... Again, If anyone knows who made those, inform me!

@ShinGamix-
The graphics don't really go together, I agree... But I'm using Mack's Tileset in my actual game, and they go much nicer together.

EDIT: I fixed all the bugs I know of, and changed some things... FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! and you'll be fine.

I agree. I actually started with XP, then I tried VX and I like it so much more! But I'm not enjoying the RTP tiles...
And yes, I am working on a project right now. I will create a thread for it once I have a demo finished.
