Enchanted Forest
~Mythical RP

Introduction

The morning light trickled down into the trees of a forest, weaving through branches and leaves and the mist in the air before it would land onto the cold layer of grass. The dew on the green of the plants would slide down, dropping to the ground where it would soon be absorbed by the soil and used again. The flowers were the first to wake, petals of almost every hue flurling outwards, opening up to catch the morning shine.

But unlike an ordinary flower, they would start to glimmer after a while, their colors getting brighter with each moment of the sun caressing its delicate petals. The small specks of light emitting from them would rise, dancing in the air, making the forest itself, shine with incredible light. These lights would stay, even as evening came and no natural sunlight was present. This would awaken the creatures of the night and guide them, some even finding nourishment in the rich, bright specks of light.

But just before sunrise again, the glimmers would die... only to find that there would be a new cycle of them the very next morning. Who would be drawn by these lights? A traveler finding their way home? An elf? A centaur? Or perhaps the most rare and magnificent creature...

Description
Basically, this is a forest full of magical things. Humans are not common, but occasionally find their way inside. Everyone has their own purpose for being there, whether they just live peacefully, gather materials, or hunt.

I don't like forcing plots down people's throats so the setting is all yours. Perhaps just use this to introduce your character, get to know other ones, make friends, enemies, and just practice your role-playing.

Rules
-Read the rules of this forum. And follow them.

-Please fill out the character form and DO NOT post until you have filled it out and send it to me in PM. When your character is displayed in the second post, then you may post.

-Do not ask to join the roleplay in this thread. PM me your character sheet to join, and when I accept it and post it in the second post, then you may join.

-This is a literate RP. That means you must post in paragraph form with no stars(*) or any other keyboard character to express action. I also prefer third-person pov but, there is no crime against using first-person. To exemplify:

INCORRECT: *Elf walks up to the centaur* Hi, my name is Ezias. *Holds out hand*
CORRECT: An elft walks up to the centaur. "Hi, my name is Ezias." He holds out his hand.

I also prefer more said than above. It doesn't have to be super descriptive like the intro but, give people more to work with, yes? More than a sentence or two, if you can.

-Now the most important rule... do NOT stray from your character form. Too often, in attempt to God-mode, people assume they can just have any power they want to solve any situation to keep their character out of harm's way. Equally annoying is when they dramatically change the personality of their character without any real cause... I know people do change according to moods and all, but, all and all, just stay true to your character, as you filled it out. It's not forbidden to change over time, and learn new things over time, but not at the drop of a hat, at your character's convenience.

-If you did not read that, basically, DON'T GOD-MODE. If you god-mode, consequences will follow.

-Romance is fine, but keep in mind the rule mentioned in the official rules of this forum.

-Do not assign roles to people without their consent. I thought that was just basic manners but from my horrible experiences... it must be said. (Ex. Do not enter and say "HELLO, OOKIE'S CHARACTER, IS MY BEST FRIEND" without asking @w@)

-My favorite rule... have fun! ^.^

Character Form
Fill out as much as you feel comfortable filling out. Give as much as we need to know without spoiling.

Accepted Character List
Ookie Panda
Marlena
Spoiler:
Race: Elf
Age: 16
Appearance

Background: Marlena was born into a family of healers. She never strayed far from her studies, but had desires to travel outside the forest. The elves were a kind people, so she knows not of too many negative things.
Personality: Marlena is shy but curious. She was taught to be timid and flee when in doubt, but her youthful nature often times draws her too close to trouble. She is selfless but to the point where she neglects her own needs at times. She follows her heart even when it causes danger... and she is too sheltered to quite know when she actually is in danger. She is basically clueless and curious, which always puts her in horrible situations unless someone is there to keep her out of trouble.
Occupation: Healer in training. Though she has knowledge of her powers inside and out, she is inexperienced in practice.
Weapons/Powers: Minor healing. She can heal cuts and bruises but not much else.
Exta Details: She can usually be found by the lake, where you can see the reflection of the water lily flower's glimmers. The lily is her favorite kind of flower :3
Jayde
Spoiler:
Race: Succubi / Demon
Age: 22
Appearance:
The alluring beauty of a succubi, with a hint of demoness traits.

Background: Demons in general were quite the outcast race. So when her mother of the exclusive succubi race had a child with her demon father, she was automatically rejected. Her mother and father didn't intend to have her, but they tried their best. But eventually, the mother died at the hands of angry succubi, calling her a disgrace and impurity to the succubi race.
From then on, she was raised by her demon father. He couldn't do much for her, since demons were mostly independent and he already had his own social status to worry about, he had no time to be inconvenienced by a succubi-demon hybrid. So, though darker races were not common in the enchanted forest, he left her there to assure no other demons would associate her with himself.
Personality: Jayde is a bit resentful since the death of her mother. She carries demon qualities from her father; prideful, greedy, and dominating. But a part of her wants to be wanted and accepted. She is gentle to harmless creatures. But to anything with a speck of intelligence; she is harsh and always wants to prove herself better than them. She wants love and friendship, but being raised by a demon, who had rare ways of showing these feelings, she usually scares people away.
Occupation: Spellcaster, though she rarely uses it. She is usually a dweller.
Weapons/Powers:
Demon Teeth. She'll bite the shit out of you.
((Spells))
Black Hole. A black, swirling vortex thrusts forward and destroys everything in its path. For an average human, the impact would be the equivalent of a 200 lb mass hitting them and jerking them around for several seconds while it passes through.
Thorns. She can raise black thorns at a designated target. Mostly, she uses them to block off escape routes, or perhaps to hold a prey in place. It can also be used defensively to create a barrier around herself. Rarely, she uses the thorns in a whip-like fashion, not only having the sting of a whip, but the stabbing of up to 5-inch thorns. But it has not often been necessary to use this spell in that manner. The common long sword would take several strikes to cut it, like a crappy pair of scissors that barely get the job done.
Poison. Like a gun, she can shoot black poison onto a victim. The poison takes the characteristics of a leech and will infect anything it touches.
Exta Details: Though she uses magic, magic used against her is her weakness. She is also not fond of much physical combat, so, if her attacker were ever to reach her face to face, she'd be pretty weak against physical harm. Her demon blood gives her thicker skin than most, but she never took the time to embrace it and make it stronger.

Chocopyro
Spoiler:
Character Name: Kai "Doncaster"
Race: Human
Age: 18
Appearance:

Background: From his earliest memories, Kai was left to fend for himself on the streets of a city known as Camlorn. Sure, the guttersnipe had friends who taught him the ropes he needed to survive on the streets, but there were a lot of blank spaces that needed to be filled in. He never really knew his parents, nor cared to find out. But his heritage came all to clear after he was detained for snatching his morning breakfast in the bustling markets. As he was held and the guards tried to decide whether to remove a hand like was the custom consequence under the new regime of Camlorn, or let him off with a warning, being that he may just be too young to understand the consequences of his actions, an aging man with a hooded cloak donned entered the room with credentials stating that the boy in custody was no mere guttersnipe, but the rightful heir of a knightly heritage. The man went on to adopt Kai in order to give him an education. Sir Roderick was what he preferred Kai to call him, and apparently, Roderick was a friend of his father, who fell from knightly rank after the power shift in the country. As some would say, he was backing the wrong house. Still, Roderick not only taught Kai how to read or write, but also gave him lessons in swordsmanship. By the age of 16, he was actually getting pretty good. His deft hands used to pick pockets in the markets of Camlorn gave him added finesse for tricky feints. But he was young and hungry for a life of adventure. Seeing this in Kai's eyes, he gifted Kai with one last heirloom before setting the boy off to join a group of freelance adventurers, who like Roderick were also former knights of the realm. This of course was a form of training in its own right. And by Kai's 18th birthday, in one of the adventures across the River Sumberton, Kai was lead away from the group at nightfall by a captivating light. Now Kai is tucked away in a forest of which he has only learned of in legend. And a mixed feeling of wonder and anxiety swells in his chest. For an adventurer, the enchanting forest presents the opportunity of a life time to recover long ancient treasures. At the same time, he is pretty sure no human has ever left alive.
Personality: Kai struggles to understand his adoptive father's teachings of chivalry, and as a result, he tends to come across as more of an honorable swashbuckler than a true knight. He is young, and confident in his abilities to the point of near arrogance. But his street smarts keep him alert, and because of the legends he has heard of these lands, he keeps weary. Legends of faery trickery frighten him more than even demons. As a result, Kai has a tendency to never fully believe anything he hears. He merely plays along with what they say and keeps an eye out for any sort of trickery in the form of sorcery.
Occupation: Freelance adventurer/Squire In training
Weapons/Powers: While he has no powers to call his own, he shows great finesse and proficiency with his longsword, which he claims is a relic of his knightly heritage.
Exta Details: Themesong

Hyrulianhero123
Tokage
Spoiler:
Race: Demon/Pegasus
Age: unknown
Appearance:
Background: Tokage has lived in the forest for as long as there has been a forest. He is something of a guardian spirit, who believes it is his duty to take care of the rare creatures and plants that call the forest home. His earliest recollection is of the forest, his goal already in his mind. He knows little to nothing of the outside world, and has no family that he can recall. As a half-demon, his lifespan is incredibly long, but he is still mortal.
Personality: Tokage is cold and indifferent to most intelligent creature, and is merciless and brutal to any who would dare harm anything in the forest. HE is quick to anger, and becomes irrational and violent when enraged. Despite living in a forest, he has a disturbing fondness for fire. To the other creatures of the forest, he is kind and caring, and he takes care of any animals that may have broken a leg or fractured a wing.
Occupation: Forest Guardian
Weapons/Powers: Tokage has a pair of wings coated with a hard, metal like substance, that allow him to fly and use the wings as weapons. Being a half demon, he is also in possession of a paralysing stare, basically which lets him stun enemies by looking them in the eye, though this power is not foolproof.
Exta Details: Yes, the image was created with a damn pony-maker >_>
Hyphen
Spoiler:
Race: Unicorn
Age: 22
Appearance:
Background: Hyphen is a unicorn who has lived in the forest her whole life. Her parents died of natural causes over the previous winter, but she's moved past that thanks to her optimistic nature. She gets along really well with Tokage, and loves flying, even though she can only do so through magic.
Personality: Outgoing, optimistic, clumsy, and thoughtful. She loves to help, but ends up getting in the way often. Blushes very easily.
Occupation: Self-Proclaimed Expert on Forest Creature
Weapons/Powers: Being a Unicorn, Hyphen has access to many different simple magic spells:

Telekinesis: Anything she could lift with her hooves or mouth, she can lift with her telekinises

Flames: She can use the heat in the air to produce a small, condensed flame in her hoof. lasts about 15 seconds.

Radar: She can use her magic to detect relics underground, be they small artefacts or ancient cities.

Wings: Her only really potent spell: She summons a pair of magnificent wings that will last for 6 days. She can only use this spell once a week.

Exta Details: Yeah, another pony tongue.gif

Cass
Spoiler:
Character Name: Sorelle
Race: Night Hag
Age: Unknown
Appearance:

Background: Belonging to the notoriously secretive race of Night Hags, Sorelle
has little ties with the other inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest. Due to her race’s
nature and history, Sorelle is feared by many, and is seen as a predator by most. Her
past is enveloped in mystery, like all things related to Night Hags.
Personality: Night Hags are stereotyped as being be bloodthirsty, determined individuals, a mould
of character that has never been seen broken.
Occupation: Lurker/Dream Eater
Weapons/Powers: Like other Night Hags, Sorelle appears only once the sun has fallen,
to feed on the dreams of unsuspecting creatures. This can bring ill thoughts to the victim,
or can even send them into a coma. If ever confronted by a force stronger than her, Sorelle
can shield herself with a coat of darkness. To paralyse her prey, she uses frightening
imagery.
Extra Details: To make the character seem ambiguous, this form describes Night Hags rather than
Sorelle herself. This is also because of the nature of Night Hags, which can be attributed to sharks – cold, emotionless and wicked.

BlackMuffin
Spoiler:
Character Name: Iako
Race: Fallen Angel
Age:500
Appearance:
Background: For as long as he can remember, Iako has been watching mankind and elvenkind develop. However, he was never allowed to go down into the world of the living to actually intermingle with them. However, 200 years ago, when he was on duty to watch the races, he noticed a young human girl who attracted his eyes. He obsessed with her, constantly watching her. He eventually became so distracted by her that he absolutely had to defy God's orders and go down into the world to be with her. However, he had angered God, for He can see all, and since He saw what Iako had done, Iako had to be punished. He had been given enough to time to be with the human, who had also come to love him, and therefore struck Iako a shattering blow. He struck the girl with an awful plague that killed her, and Iako was banished from Heaven, forever to roam the Earth. He eventually found refuge in the Enchanted Forest, but never fully recovered from his loss, which still hangs over his shoulders like a burden and pierces a hole in his heart.
Personality: Very quiet and intrapersonal, very musical; always carries a harp with him. He still holds this obligating sense that he needs to guard all he sees, but unfortunately sometimes becomes overprotective, to the point that he will attack any who approach what he is guarding.
Occupation: Roaming, Banished Angel.
Weapon: A fairly large katana that he uses to defend himself if he ever needs to.
Powers: Healing Himself.
Seperating one's soul from their body. His work as a guardian angel implied that he could also take away people's lives when their time had come, and this power was never removed from him.

Chaike
Spoiler:
Character Name: Chaike/Dergion (Goes by Chaike)
Race(s): Chaike - Minor god
Dergion - Demon god
Chaike/Dergion - Wretch (god/demon hybrid… this is the race that Chaike appears as)
Age(s): Chaike - ageless
Dergion - 600 years
Appearance:
Chaike:
Spoiler:

Dergion (never appears, just an idea of his appearance):
Spoiler:

Background: Chaike and Dergion were once two different beings. Chaike was a minor god (minor god of order), and Dergion was a demon god (demon god of insanity). One fateful day in heaven, sometime after Iako fell from glory, the demons rose up against the gods. While the gods were powerful and numerous, the demons were completely unpredictable. Granted, demons are never truly organized, but there was something new about their randomness that made them deadly. It was then revealed that the demon god Dergion was leading the assault on heaven. His insanity slowly spread from the demons to the gods, and eventually, only a few minor and major gods remained. All of heaven was immersed in chaos. It was at this time that Chaike decided to sacrifice himself for the sake of heaven. Chaike, along with the help of the other gods, lead a final assault against Dergion. During the heat of the battle, Chaike flung himself at Dergion, and both of the beings fused together, becoming one in the same. The transformation also turned the new being into a stone statue, which was flung from heaven immediately in order to prevent Dergion’s return. Who knows where the statue may land?
Personality:
Chaike - Chaike remains calm most of the time, seeing as stress brings forth disorder, and disorder causes Chaike to suffer from an unfortunate case of OCD (he is a god of order, after all). Chaike is also easily annoyed by Dergion‘s random antics.

Dergion - Seeing as he is the demon god of insanity, Dergion is usually quite random. Even though Dergion himself is trapped within Chaike, he is able to occasionally take control of Chaike’s body, which leads people to assume that Chaike is very bi-polar, if not insane. Dergion is also quite clumsy, in a comical fashion.
Occupation: Troublemaker and/or Ordermaker, depending on whoever has control of Chaikes body.
Weapons/Powers:
Morphing forearm that can turn into a:
Arm cannon that shoots flaming brimstone (flaming brimstone is sticky and hot, like burning wax. It also gives off fumes that are toxic to humans)
Party horn…. For when Dergion wants to make noise
Insanity/sanity spell: Dergion (while controlling Chaike) can cast a spell that will cause anyone to become insane, while Chaike can cast a spell to restore sanity.
Chaike is also proficient in hand to hand combat, and is very acrobatic
Extra Details: Chaike, while immune to death (he is a god, after all), can be injured to the point of broken bones by any form of weapon, but only while exposed to light (He is also completely invincible in darkness). If exposed to large, concentrated amounts of pure light, Chaike will become stone once again.
Also, I know my appearance pictures are crappy, but my scanner is being retarded. I’ll update and color them soon.
Also also, Chaike will always speak in Green, and Dergion will speak in Red.

Sir Drakous
Spoiler:
Character Name: Kothar
Race: Half-Demon
Age: 21
Appearance: much like an elf but the ears are black around the edges

Background: Born in a realm of daemons and raised in a realm of mortals he has always been an outcast. He grew up alone and talking to the statues at the abandoned temple where he lived.
Personality: A little crazy, and willing to put his life on the line to help friends. Normally can control his temper but when he loses it every thing around him heats up almost to combustion.
Occupation: Swordsman/Spell caster. He has spent most of his life with a Black-Steel long sword that a demon brought to him on his 7th birthday. His only magic is to create and control a small black-colored fire, that never burns him, (about the size of a baseball)
Weapons/Powers: Black-Steel long sword described above, Fire described above, minor regeneration (heals about a week earlier than humans/elves)
Extra Details: Not a full blooded demon, so he cant claim all of the benefits of being a demon. He gets weak and loses all magical abilities around silver.

((I guess I'll just start to break the ice ;3))
M A R L E N A
A butterfly with red wings fluttered near the lake that the enchanted forest held deep within itself. It held countless creatures whose origins were only heard in folk tales. Many gathered here for the purest kind of water, or simply a beautiful view of the clear lake reflecting the magnificent forest.

One who did gather here was a young elf girl of sixteen. Her hair was light turquoise and her clothes were white with intricate purple borders and details. The elf would normally be seated at the base of a large tree which the elves called oakana, meaning a hybrid oak and mana tree.. but today she decided to take a dip in the lake.

Finding no shame in being completely exposed and bare, she removed all of her clothing and entered the water. The elf gently waded deeper, seeing small fish squirm away before her toes would touch the bottom of the lake. The splashes of the waves were cool against her skin, refreshing from the slight heat of the summer. Finally, the elf was in the lake up to her chest, the longer half of her hair floating on the surface. Her arms would rise, lifting the rest of her hair and tying it into a ponytai, the tips dripping now.

"The lilies look so calm today," Marlena would say to herself with a smile. Her eyes would shift, looking up towards the layers of branches covering the full view of the sky. The shadows of small birds and larger beings, such as fairies and imps with wings, passed overhead, constantly bustling with things to do. "I wish I could fly..." said Marlena, sighing a bit. It was clear that the elf longed to be simply anything other than who she was. A beautiful mermaid, a magical fairy, a powerful centaur.. But here she was, an elf with the power to make a few sparks that made little children stop crying when they hurt themselves. Really impressive.

The elf would lean back, letting herself float along with the current of the lake. "What would it be like, to just meet a creature like that?" she said, continuing on speaking to herself and assuming no one could hear. "I bet mermaids are so gentle.. and fairies.. they're probably so much fun to be around.." A thought would occur to her and she would stand upright in the water again. "What about humans? What must it be like not having any magic at all..? Basically like me I guess... I can hardly do anything with these stupid sparks..." She flicked a blue spark from her finger, the ball of magic skipping across the lake and tapping a lily, making it grow and blossom even more. With that she sighed again, slowly lying backwards again to let the water carry her.

The Scoundrel of Knightly Heritage

"By the blood stained blade of the war god, Gorum. They're everywhere..." The human, just out of youth, hissed silently as he prowled the forest. His hazel eyes skimmed the branches above with a mix of fascination and fear. With each shift of his eyes, another pair stared back with just as curious of an expression. Creatures in the air, hanging from the trees, or peering shyly through the leaves. Kai did not like it one bit. He felt like a harlequin in a foreign court, who risked execution if he did not abide by their unknown customs. Still, his own survival beyond the basic needs had to be met. His water skein was empty, and he hadn't eaten breakfast since the former knight when he was just recently separated from his adventuring party. A growl of his stomach was enough to tell him that. With a scowl, he gazed downward at his feet and pulled his pack from over the shoulder. In one of the crudely sewn pockets, he pulled out a fishing hook with about five feet of string, then scanned for a lengthy stick to tie it to. Sadly, just as he veered off the path, a pair of winged creatures zipped down from above and began fishing through his belongings with childlike greed. Listening to their giggling, Kai's head twisted sharply as he glared at the two creatures. His compass, a few articles of clothing, and some fire starting tools were tossed carelessly along the path. "Hey! Stop that!" Kai snapped, stepping back onto the path. One of the pixies popped its head out from his pack, staring at him with slanted squinty black orbs. "Please sir, we are only looking fer some eats." He said, in attempt to get the human's sympathy.

Kai's eyes narrowed as he slid the fish hook into his back pocket. "Trust me, if I had food, I would be eating it right now." he grumbled as he walked closer to his pack. As soon as he did though, both pixies appeared to be thrown out onto the ground as a third head popped up. This time what appeared to be a small humanoid with a tall pointed cap. "Nay! This is my home now!" The gnome commanded. Kai watched helplessly as his own belongings became something of a territorial dispute as the two parties bickered back and forth. Finally, just before Kai was about to put a word in, the two pixies grabbed both sides of his bags with the gnome in it and zipped away deeper into the forest. Kai dropped to his knees and punched the dirt out of frustration. "Damn it!" He hissed. His gaze inclined to the direction they took off in with gritted teeth and a look of fierce resolve. He knew this was probably the fae trickery he had heard of in his homeland, and that by pursuing them, he would only be guided further into the forest and never come out again... But right at that moment, he didn't care! The fit young man rose off his knees into a charge, whipping past and dodging branches and tree trunks. He vaulted fallen logs and large stones. His bag was finally within arms reach. Kai extended his hand to grip it, but found that when he made his last step... There was no ground where he stood. As if in slow motion, his eyes glanced downward to see about twenty feet below him was a lake of which he was soon about to collide with. Now he was free falling, with eyes widening, and arms and legs flailing in the air. Yet the only thought to cross his mind was something along the lines of what could possibly be lurking in the depths of the lake, waiting to devour him whole. Splash!

M A R L E N A
Marlena had been floating for only a few minutes when she heard some shuffling in the bushes. This was normal, and she only gave it a small glance before sighing and closing her eyes again. But the sounds persisted, getting closer.. The snickering of multiple small creatures... pixies by the sound of it. Marlena's elven ears would lift a bit, involuntarily paying attention and she heard a larger creature charging through the forest in quite an unnatural way. Most dwellers of the forest treated it with grace.. but this... why, it was thrashing about like a drooling ogre.

Marlena sat up in the water now, her eyes peering into the moving trees. Swsh! Two pixies carrying a cloth of some sort would launch into flight, able to hover over the lake, unlike the next creature that emerged. Marlena gasped, seeing a man of some sort. It was only a glimpse, her own voice calling, "Watch out!" much too late as he was soon a blur that fell into the water. "Oh... I hope he can swim!" Marlena would take a dive, her legs gently kicking to propel her to what she could see was... a human.. She kicked faster, her arms reaching out to him. Her slim frame would easily move faster than average as she saw the human tumbling further down in the lake. Perhaps he was too stunned to swim, or maybe his heavy armor was dragging him down.. but either way, he was going further away until her hand reached him. She'd wrap her arms around him, in the most tender and nonthreatening way she could, carrying him upwards with a bit of a struggle. She was not used to such heavy equipment, but her sheer will to do, what she believed was saving, or at least assisting, this human, pushed her to reach the surface.

Finally, Marlena and the human's head would break through the surface of the water, the elf gasping a bit from the energy she exerted, helping him. Her eyes would quickly turn to him, trying to tell if he was alive. "Sir?! Are you alive? Are you okay?!"

Behind her, she could hear the two pixies nearly dying of laughter, quite proud of themselves to have fooled the human. She shot a glare at them. "This is your doing, isn't it? What's that you've got in your hands? I insist you give that back." This is YOUR doing! This is YOUR doing! the pixies would say mockingly, then continue to laugh. Marlena grunted, then turned her attention back to the man. "Sir..?"

The Scoundrel of Knightly Heritage

While plunged in the strangely clear waters of the lake, Kai's attempts at swimming upward with his clunky equipment weighing him down were unsuccessful. Sure, he was looking for water to fish in or to fill up his water skein, but this was not quite what he had in mind. Out of the corner of his eye, as bubbles obscured his vision, a graceful figure swam straight for him through the water. Kai's first reaction was to reach for his sword, but even with his quick reflexes, the movement in the water was hindered, and the feminine figure was already on him. All the squire could see were long locks of turquoise hair, and the quick glance at pointed ears. He was determined to fight, but when he noticed she was attempting to help him up, Kai's chances of reaching the surface once more had risen. He too attempted to help the feminine figure bare his weight by kicking with his own legs, and periodically stroking with his arms. Finally, they broke through the rippling sunlight, and Kai was allowed to gasp for the fresh air his kind required for life. His eyes blinked a few times, as if trying to get the water trickling down his face out from his eyes, but the close words of the being who currently was attached to him caught his attention. Still short on breath, he wasn't quite ready to answer right away, considering he was still wading harshly to keep his head afloat. Its a good thing his early childhood was spent at a seaside town. Swimming was just one of the things he grew up doing. "Yeah..." the squire finally said. He swallowed and shook his head so that the wet brown locks of hair weren't in his eyes. "Yeah, I'm still alive." He confirmed again, ignoring the pixies in the background. His hazel eyes glanced at the pale skinned woman with locks of turquoise and pointy ears. A squint of his eyes revealed that he was trying to decide if his life had just been saved by a water nymph, or an elf. Neither of which were exactly beings he would expect to save his own life, though such stories were not unheard of among such creatures. It wasn't as though he entirely had to trust her, but he was clearly at her mercy right now. "Uh... Thanks... Could we just get my feet on something solid now?" He pleaded as his strength from wading the water began to wane. Right now, the pack the pixies had was the least of his concerns.

Marlena's cheeks flushed with pink, embarrassed for not thinking of getting him on land sooner. "O-oh yes! My apologies!" Slowly but surely, the human and elf made their way to the shore of the lake. The elf stepped out first, then turned around swiftly to pull the drenched human out of the water. This is strange... thought Marlena. I don't even know this person, yet I feel like I need to help him... A few tugs got the man out of the water, on solid ground as he had wished. He was no doubt cold and tired now, all thanks to those rotten pixies. Once she was sure he was on his feet, she reached over to her clothes and grabbed her robe, seeing as none of her other clothes would big enough to wrap around him.

Carefully, the elf would approach the man again and hold out the robe. She of course, was still completely nude, but mind you, she saw no shame in being naked in front of others. "You can wrap this around you if you like... I'm afraid I don't have anything much bigger.." she said quietly. "Are you okay? If you're hurt at all, I can help..." Marlena would hold her hands to her chest, ready to heal him if he asked. Though, from the looks of it, the only thing he might have hurt was his pride. Marlena recalled many a time in her childhood when she blindly followed the pixies into even more extreme situations. Even now, she could probably be tempted rather easily due to her wild curiosity.

Marlena's eyes scanned the human now. Though soaked in water, she could clearly make out the details of him now. He was definitely alive.. His eyes were quite interesting, and his posture said a lot about him. Very prideful, she assumed. Maybe he was a knight? This made her gulp a bit.. Widely known as valiant heroes amongst humans, knights were often depicted slaying the very mythical creatures that were held in this forest! A knight was the most ignorant type of human, according to most of the beings here. Though this image was instilled into Marlena's beliefs, she tried to ignore the notion. She'd met plenty of creatures that defied their stereotypical role... what would make a knight any different?

But the age of chivalry is gone. That of sophisters, economists, and calculators, has succeeded; and the glory of Europe is extinguished for ever. Never, never more shall we behold that generous loyalty to rank and sex, that proud submission, that dignified obedience, that subordination of the heart, which kept alive, even in servitude itself, the spirit of an exalted freedom. The unbought grace of life, the cheap defense of nations, the nurse of manly sentiment and heroic enterprise, is gone!

The Scoundrel of Knightly Heritage

Kai exhaled a deep sigh as he found himself once again on dry land. With his party, he had just recently traversed high icy peaks across the wyvern tale mountains, forcing him quickly to adapt to the cold, and allowing him to readily greet the borders of the forest. Still, being wet and in all his equipment did not do well to warm him, and even after just coming from such a cold region, he was still shivering. He stood and immediately began stripping chunks of his armor off, starting first with his gauntlets and then plates that guarded various weak points. The pile of steel grew at his feet until he was in his damp tunic. As he turned however, the squire was met with the nude elf maiden's image, holding a robe out to him. His eyes swiftly averted out of respect as he held a hand out to her, waving in motion to stop. "No. No. I've got a cloak in the pack." He assured her. An eye glanced back to the direction just above her bare left shoulder and her face. "Look, I'm not the most classy knight in the world, but don't you think you are showing a little too much skin in the presence of a stranger?" the squire suggested. A cloak dropped upon Kai's head shortly after the comment. He slowly slid the brown cloak off and gazed up at the gnome who was still inside his pack. "Smells too much like a domesticated animal anyways. I wouldn't want such a hideous thing in my home." The gnome said, taking another swat at the pixie to his left.

The water of the lake finally grew still, calming itself from the thrashing about that had just taken place. When her robe was waved away, she reeled her arms back in slowly, hugging the piece of clothing to her chest as she watched the man stripping away the wet pieces of equipment and clothes. Her bright blue eyes were dazing out for a bit, wondering how she might have met someone like this, no sooner than she had wished to meet one. Maybe there was something special about her after all. In this moment of ecstasy, she found herself offering her hand, about to introduce herself until the stranger said something else. "Too much..?" she repeated, thinking about what he might mean. Suddenly it came to her, that humans held the image of nudity sacred. She blushed, embarrassed for being ignorant of his customs. "Oh! I am so sorry! I'll get clothed then!" Hurriedly now, she began to re-assemble her outfit onto her body, slipping into the dry garments that would resist a bit from her pale skin being wet. I'm so nervous.. why am I so nervous? If I keep acting like this, he'll simply lose interest and be on his way.. And even Marlena noted the odd wording there. Ah.. What am I saying...? That's rather selfish isn't it? To want him to stay here.. to inconvenience him for the sake of my curiosity? Marlena sighed as she tugged her boots onto her feet, standing straight and fully dressed. She gave the man a bit of a hopeless look, her ears pointing downwards like some animals were known to do.

Even though I want to know more.. I can't be anymore of a burden.. At least in the end, I will be the one who saved him.. right? Now that the two had gathered themselves, Marlena offered her small hand. "Uhm.. my name is Marlena.. I'm an elf.. specifically the division of spirit elves.. We are healers of the forest, plants and animals alike.." she said calmly and with a smile, but a sad one. Though she was introducing herself just now, she knew it'd soon lead to a parting gesture. She was taught that you would always see whoever you meet again, some time or another, but it still made her sad to not know when.

Deeper in the forest, a dark figure stirred, as if awoken. The figure rose groggily, and made it's way out of a hollow, dead tree. As the light of the sun touched his face, his features became more clear: Hid black and green coat camouflaged him against the foliage, his piercign red eyes seeming to float in the air. His wings, made out of a substance as hard as steel, shone in the dappled sunlight peeking through the leaves, and his short black mane and sharply angled tail brushing the leaves as he passed. He stood on all fours and inhaled deeply.

Something had entered the forest.

This wasn't anything new; plenty of inquisitive minds found this place, and most had enough sense to respect it and it's creatures. The ones who didn't were never seen again. Tokage stretched out his wings and flew up to the branches of a tree. He spread his wings out wide, and used them to glide from tree to tree. It was time to see if this new creature was pure enough to stick around....

The Scoundrel of Knightly Heritage

A few foul words escaped Kai's mouth as he donned his cloak. Soon, he picked his sheathed sword from the pile of armor and fastened it around his waste where it rightfully belonged for the sake of his own protection. "No need to appologize. Its a request out of respect for you rather than my own comfort." he answered. No sooner did he turn to face the elf girl once again did he see a hand offered. This time he gazed past the hand into the vulnerable eyes of the elf. "A healer..." he said with a smirk. "That's quite an honorable trade. You could call me squire Doncaster. Or Kai if title and rank mean nothing in these woods." Kai reached out and shook the elf's pale hand. He was glad at the moment that some gestures seemed universal. Though the look in her eyes betrayed the smile on her face. Kai also knew what the ears indicated, as they were similar to that of a dog. The hounds of his country were much loved by the people. It wasn't until he began his adventuring career that he learned that many countries on the borders did not share the love for canines that his native folk did. So while not calling himself a dog lover, he did know the subtle indications in their ears and tails displayed the mood of the creatures. Kai withdrew his hand and offered a confident smirk to try and cheer the lass up. "Uh, don't worry about my pack. I could replace most of the contents in it." He assured as he gazed upward to the sky. "But I don't suppose you are familiar with the lore of the forests, are you? I have a few questions I would like to ask for the sake of my own survival and curiosity."

Tokage arrived silently at the lake, unnoticed up in the trees. His coloring camoflauged him seemlessly against the canopy, his stark red eyes almost piercing through the shade. HE sat silently and observed. There was a small path of wreckage beneath him: the bumbling oaf had plowed recklessly after the Fae, and fallen into the water. He sat now on the edge of the lake with an young elf. Tokage sat still. This would require more detailed observation. It was too soon to know if this man meant any harm.

Tokage closed his eyes and navigated through the trees my memory, before landing quietly behind a bush about 10 meters away from the strange man and the elf. He hissed a breath as he rattled a bush, but the two figures didn't seem to acknowledge it. He opened his eye again, and watched.

"...You could call me squire Doncaster. Or Kai if title and rank mean nothing in these woods."

Tokage frowned. Another knight. rather, a knight in training, a squire, but still of the same mind. This man was likely brash, arrogant, and most worryingly, out to prove himself. As a squire desiring knighthood, he would be eager to gain fame by slayign some 'beast' or stealing some 'treasure'. Tokage decided to give the boy a chance though. The elf saved his life, and it would be cruel to unjustly take it away so soon. So Tokage simply sat, and watched....

Marlena's eyes would light up, not expecting the knight to seek information from her. She stuttered a bit, then nodded, trying to clear her head. "Y-yes! Ask me anything! I've lived here all of my life!" She would smile. A bigger, happier smile. "I'd love to help in any way I can.. Kai.." Marlena blinked, coming to a realization. "But, let me first ask you something.. uhm, that is, what brings a human like yourself to these parts? That definitely might help me figure out what your needs are..?" She didn't want to invade his privacy, though she was rather curious as to why he was here. And what did he mean by survival? It almost sounded as though he planned to stay long. Perhaps to hunt a rare creature that he might not see for weeks?

And speaking of rare creatures... The elf's ears had only twitched slightly from the noise of the bushes. Though her sense were always heightened, she was much too absorbed in meeting a human for the first time to realize that one of the most beautiful but terrifying gaurdians was lurking about.. watching her and the stranger to the forest. Had she known she was in the presence of Tokage, she might act similar to how she did when she was young..

It was when she was nine when she first met the guardian spirit. Unless his memory was unimaginably vivid, then he may not remember the young elf looking up at the graceful creature. He had done away with a foul beast attacking her village, like one would expect a guardian to do if a harmless race was in danger. Marlena remembered that even in taking a life, he seemed so magnificent. She wanted so badly to thank him, but her mixed feelings of awe and fear kept her words sealed. Instead, all she received a nod, and the spirit was gone.

J A Y D E
Deeper in the forest, where life was not so plentiful and the green did not reach, a maiden was awakening from a slumber from inside a cave. Her eyes of ember slowly opened, gazing upon the pathetic wasted space of the forest she occupied. This was the only place she was allowed to be, because she caused too much trouble elsewhere. Her body would now rise, her slender but delicately curved figure standing upright and off of the pile of moss and leaves she used as a bed.

The woman stepped into the light, revealing her skin of unnatural color and her mid-afternoon matted hair. She would grunt, then make her way to a special tree. Since there was no water here, the maiden had to make do with a man-made mirror, built into the tree, to see her reflection. She combed her hair out of her face, letting the loops and curls undo themselves so the strands of hair would fall over her shoulder. She would now meet eyes with her demon-succubi self; Jayde.

A smirk crept upon the lips of Jayde, combing out her hair some more, untangling her hair from the base of her demon horns. "Oh my~ Don't you just look so lovely~?" She chuckled, then stepped away from the mirror, swaying her hips in a confident manner, like her succubi genes taught her to do. She would continue forward a few feet, then stop, gazing into the green of the forest. This is where she was not allowed to enter. Many a time had she been warned, by MANY different races. But still, how could one expect to live alone like this? It was so utterly boring. And not to mention the severe lack of food and water. Sheesh! Do they want me to die out here? (They probably did though!)

"Peh! I don't care WHO tries to stop me! I deserve better than this," said Jayde loudly, and to no one in particular. "I am going." And with that, she marched right into the green, looking around the forest for trouble-- err, I mean.. food? Probably trouble.

((Double characters up in here. ;O You can be nice, but she probably won't return the favor! Also, sorry if I didn't write-in your character very well, Hyrulian... I just figured, since he's lived forever, that everyone in the forest has probably seen him at least once. owo))

The Scoundrel of Knightly Heritage

A bit taken back at just how eager the elf maiden was to help, Kai took on a bit of a perplexed expression. Wait a second, she saved him. He was the one who owed her and yet she was still eager for him to ask more of her? Strange. He noted her genially happy smile though, and it appeared as though something of the request had helped to pacify the forlorn expression in her eyes. Maybe she just needed to feel needed. "Uh..." He voiced, as though looking for the right expression to convey. Then she jumped to wanting to ask a question first. There it was. The whole "Why are you here and what do you want" question. Honestly, Kai wasn't all that sure. He scratched the back of his head as if searching for an answer. Unknowing that the way his answer was worded could mean his demise by the entity that remained undetected by the human only feet away. "Actually the reason I am here is my first question as well. See, It was when I was by the River, Sumberton which lies to the borders of these great woods." He started. His gaze declined downward as he folded his arms. "I was washing the blood stains out of one of my tunics from a former bandit attack. Then I saw a light reflecting off of the surface of the water. I looked up only for a moment, and it was as though the light on the other side of the river had ensnared me. Before I knew it, my pack was on my back, and I was in the woods walking in an aimless trance. So I have no reason for being here other than to know exactly what had pulled me into this place." he explained as best as he could, He glanced up to read the reaction on the elf's face. "So my first question is... What was it that lured me in here?"

((You know, I've realized that with our current cast of characters, we have a pretty well balanced RPG party. XD))
