Well, on gameclover's site, there are some sprites of characters and monsters, trapped in crystals.
Only problem; they're just single sprites... Wouldn't it be way cooler if they would actually float?

When you animate it, it looks like this (speed might differ from ingame):



Attached is the charset of all crystal characters.
If you want to use the floating animation, just create an event, select the middle position of the character you like, and make sure stepping animation is checked on.

wow thanks. I was dreading doing this myself since each is a single image.... Did you give credit to who made them btw? Thanks again though.

Well, I found the sprite on gameclover.com. I couldn't find any name of a creator of the sprites, so the only credit you could give, is to gameclover for finding it, and to me for making the edit to make them float... I already put the credit to gameclover.com in the subtitle of the topic, but I'll have to change it in the post itself, too...

I actually went and read the terms and conditions for that site, and they say they do not want you distributing their resources around the web, and a simple link is fine. So I removed the image you posted, and left the link up.

Don't do it again.

Edit: making them *float* is not a resource.
