The RMVX Free-For-All AND IT BEGINS~! Hello, my marvellous game-making munchkins~! Today begins our wonderful contest - read on for the details. Your Goal The focus of this contest is game play. Game play means anything you play: puzzles, battles, etc. Your game must be focused on at least one original gameplay element - how you present that is completely up to you! You will event or script something playable and present that as your entry. Other than that, you're free to do whatever as far as setting, characters, visuals, etc. goes. Just make sure you make something original and playable! Please bear in mind that gameplay does NOT mean cutscenes, so walking between a series cutscenes isn't gonna cut it here. Rules 1. Your game must include at LEAST 10~20 minutes of gameplay. This doesn't mean overall game time, but 10 minutes of actual interactive play time! 2. You must use original characters. If you want to use community characters, that is fine too~! And by original characters, I mean no fangames, no expies, no Cloud Strife. RTP dudes are fine. 3. If you use other people's materials, make sure you credit! Anyone found NOT crediting sources will be disqualified, as well as be facing suspension or banning depending on the severity of the situation. 4. Teams are allowed! You can have as many people as you like in a team, or you can go solo. Either way is fine! 5. Your entry MUST be made using RPG Maker VX. 6. All entries will be due by October 31st, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST. Anything submitted after that will not be accepted. Submissions Submissions will be accepted until 11:59pm PST on October 31st. Anything submitted after that will not be accepted! All submissions must be posted in the Free-For-All 2011 forum! All game submission threads must follow the same rules as those in the project development forum. If a submission comes in before the deadline, you can do bug fixes and what not up until the deadline, at which time your work must cease! After the deadline, however, no one can edit their game until the judging has finished, and the winners have been announced. Judging Your entries will be judged by panel of four judges: Emmych, your host and a mod of the Res. Showcase boards! Jet, coder and ReStaff! Also a jet. FenixFyrex, another coder and mod! He'll torch you with his kind words and criticism. and finally, Ookie Panda, mod and resident RMVX darling~! owo Entries will be judged on a few points: 1. Originality /10 (How innovative is it? Have we seen this before? Has this been done from scratch?) 2. Playability /25 (Does it work? Are there bugs? Lag? etc.) 3. Fun Factor /25 (How challenging is it? Is it fun to play, or tedious? How is the learning curve?) 3. Story /10 (Does it make sense? Does it mesh with the gameplay you've created?) 4. Aesthetics /10 (Music, visuals, mapping - all of that goes in here) 5. Misc. /10 (Stuff that can't be counted for; anything extra] Prizes First Place: Sponsorship + Sponsorship Forum + $5 Amazon Gift Card + Trophy Second Place: Sponsorship + Trophy Third Place: Trophy People's Choice: Trophy + Somethin' from Emmych! About the something from Emmych - I'll draw you something, make you a sprite, or a tile, or help you with a character design - WHATEVS~ You make a simple request of me and I shall fulfil it! Also, if the folks who come in first or second are already sponsors, you can sub that in for a somethin' from me, too. >w<d Let the games begin! Good luck, everyone! might be a stupid question but by "original" sprites do you mean ones you've made and/or ones that peaple have made
