So, I was playing my Nintendo the other day when the question hit me: Am I the only one who plays this anymore? I'm not talking about an emulator either, I'm talking about the actual systems. So... do you play any old systems, what's your favorite, and what's your favorite game for it? It doesn't have to be your actual, all time favorite game, just the one you like the most on your favorite older generation system.
My System and Game: System: PSX Game: "The Misadventures of Tronne Bonne" Reason: One word: Originality. Well, now that I did it, it's your turn. -------------------- If you are a believer of Jesus Christ, and are 100% proud of it, put this in your sig. Hmmm, wonder if this is video gaming discussion. Hey, I wonder why they have a subforum called video gaming discussion...
Anyway, I still have my old systems, but I tend to emulate things just because its too much trouble to drag them out of my closet to plug them into a tv that doesn't display them well(I don't have any SDtv's in my house). I have SNES, NES, Sega Genesis, PSX, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, GB, GBA... |

Oh yeah, sorry. I just thought that that was for discussions of individual series. Anyway, I have all of those as well. One of the perks of having a gamer for a grandpa. Since this isn't supposed to be here, can it be moved?

SNES. Was my favorite video game system way back when, still is my favorite video game system now. I always set time aside to play it. When I have a whole weekend off you can bet that I'll be playing that the whole weekend. Hell my 10 year old SNES operates better than my 1 year old 360. :x

I was a huge fan of the game "Air Fortress" on the old Nintendo. I don't know why, but I just loved the heck out of it. Then along came Zelda, Harvest Moon, (Yes, I am a guy who plays Harvest Moon. Don't judge me!

Then, when i went to a friends house, I met my true love: Fire Emblem. That sir, is one of the greatest games ever created, the only bad thing I have to say about that game is that they never released the sequel outside of Japan, pretty much forcing me to break the law and emulate it! I still find myself breaking out every fire emblem game from the nes titles up to the gameboy advance ones, they just never stop being fun, which is a sad rarity in video games today. -------------------- |

![]() Hello, my sweet lil' honey bee. ![]() Type: Designer Alignment: Chaotic Good |
I have a PS1 that has a single cable instead of the standard cables you usually get with a console, and unfortunately, it doesn't plug into my new TV so I'm forced to leave in the closet and emulate on the PC. I'm also one of the few people in the world that probably still has an Atari Jaguar (and proud enough to say it) and I happen to plug that in time to time to play Alien vs Predator. I also had a Sega Genesis, but I don't think I have that anymore.

At my school, it's pretty much me and a few others that love all the retro games.
I recently put homebrew on my Wii, and have been emulating SNES games among others. And I've been playing the SHIT out of Earthbound and Super Metroid. It's amazing. :3 But yeah, I love all systems (except Atari). It saddens me that my generation will play them. It's either Angry Birds, or the next Call of Duty game. >.< -------------------- |

The furthest back i went was Dreamcast, i love my N64 i have great classics for it but the Dreamcast is always sitting under my tv next to my 360, PS3 and Wii so on occassion i reach for my dreamcast and play classics like
Shenmue 2 EU Power Stone1/2 Jet Grind Radio/Jet Set Radio JP Vigilante second offense Bangai-O Sonic Adventure 2 (i think it fails when compared to the first one) and other games i can't remember |
