Well hello people! This is my submission. How about a bit of story-telling for ya?
It all began when the contest was announced. I decided to make a cool ninja platformer, where Dolopilos would enter a palace and kill a bunch of guards with stealth skills and gadgets etc. I began development of that project, but I am currently too busy, and I simply can't draw the necessary graphics for it. So I decided to simplify stuff! If you enjoyed CityRun (I made it long ago - search for it), you are probably going to like this one:

Basically it is a badass ninja, Dolopilos, who runs into an infinite dungeon. With obstacles and stuff. But this time, here's something new: GRAVITY SWITCHING. You can either run on the floor, on the ceiling, OR MIDAIR! So that makes things interesting and original.

I think I covered some decent points from the judging table: it is definitely an original project (of course, gravity switching is not something new, but it probably is in the realm of RMVX stuff). As for playability, it works. It should run smoothly, although it might lag on very old PCs. Dunno. Fun factor? It is challenging! Learning is easy, and almost intuitive! Story? Well.... NINJAS! (I mean come on, this project was made for gameplay, not drama...). Aesthetics? I think it looks good (I am not a good artist): Dolopilos is nicely animated and we got some decent backgrounds...


About the gameplay.
Alright, here goes:

PRESS THE SPACE BAR to switch gravity.
Obstacles appear on both floor and ceiling, doing 1 damage if you hit them.
Life is limited to three hearts. You can collect hearts while running.
Chakra regenerates slowly. Once full, press the X BUTTON to trigger a shield for a while. It will protect you from all damage.
Missiles will be shot. You can tell where they will appear because a warning symbol pops a while before they come.

EDIT: played it. it was fun. pure entertainment. no story though so a bit disappointed. maybe u can incorporate a story later though when u have time!

Thank you guys. As for story, well, Dolopilos is a ninja student undergoing his final Shinobi exam! The dungeon of doom is the place where most of the greatest ninjas of history used to train. Legend says it is truly infinite, and only spiritually prepared warriors may find the way out.

Well, you can always go to the Audio/BGM folder, delete the music file and put yours. But do remember to keep the exact same name as the old one's. Which by the way I forgot.

If you are curious about the gameplay time, I *think* you just divide the distance by 5 (you move 5 pixels per frame) and then by 60 (there are 60 frames in one second). In the case of DkReaper, he played 2420 seconds (around 40 minutes straight) stupid calc. 8 minutes it was XD.

.. although that number sounds a bit too high.... maybe it really isn't 5 pixels per frame.... Hm, I will check later.

According to your formula you forgot to divide by 5. (2420/5)/60=~8min.

Good job, looks like you have a really popular game here. Was it difficult to do in RPGVX? I'd love to look at an unlocked editor to learn how to do what you've done!

No it wasn't difficult, but I am way too busy to work properly on this stuff. You have to code some stuff here and there.

I gave this game a try earlier today, and wow, it's crazily addictive. I'm still nowhere near the top scorers, but I'll keep playing it. At least, until I can crack the 40,000 mark. ^^
