Hello RMVX.Net aficionados; I decided to share some old tiles to the community which I will be adding to.
The tiles include a little for A1, 2, 3, 4, 5, TileB, and TileC. Without further ado, here they are: A1: Spoiler: A2: Spoiler: A3: Spoiler: A4: Spoiler: A5: Spoiler: TileB: Spoiler: TileC: Spoiler: TileD: Spoiler: Character Objects: Spoiler: Parallax Buildings: Spoiler: Old style windowskin: Spoiler: Some of the tiles in action: Floors and how they match to RTP: Spoiler: Walls: If it's only two tiles high, then that's because it wouldn't look right otherwise, so it's for two-tile high interiors. Spoiler: Making objects would not be too time consuming, but does anyone have use for these? They are part of a scratched old-school project idea I had, so you're not going to see them anywhere else for the time being Will be working on each a little bit when I have time. In due time I hope to make an entire tileset pack in the same style as what you see here. Since this is now confirmed a real project of mine; I will leave this support bar to those who wish to support the making of SNES style tiles. ![]() CODE

These tiles are definitely cool. I didn't expect they would go well with RTP, but they did. Great work.

Thanks for the comments guys!
And CrimsonItsuki, these tiles were my way of practicing for more elaborate stuff later on, as I want to contribute a lot of different eras of tiles to fit everyone's needs...I still have a ways to go though. I just updated A2 with a stone road, a table, and a counter. The road is a bit wonky if it goes beyond 2 tiles wide; I'll fix it later though when I'm less tired Check the original post for the update. Here's an example with the table/counter: ![]() -------------------- The words that sprout of lies to our souls; if they bear fruit the lies disappear.

These look really nice, Radscythe!
One thing - they don't really match with the RTP at all. OTL I think you should try making your own sprites and object tiles to go with these - I'm positive you can do it! |

I totally agree with you, and that's what I plan to do at some point...but for now I need to sleep before I collapse. OTL I should at least show what I do have for my A3. I'll update the OP with it, and here is for those who want to see it: ![]() What it may look like: Spoiler: -------------------- The words that sprout of lies to our souls; if they bear fruit the lies disappear.

HOLY CRAP O.O
These are awesome, man. Totally awesome. Brings back memories of RPG Maker 2003. Damn. Would be nicer if you added some more fitting objects in the future. I tell you, I'll make a project using these if you do that. We'll bring back the 8-bit glory. Okay, userbar added. Keep it up, man |

I am actually planning on making objects both animated and non-animated once I've finished up the A tiles. So if anyone has any requests on what objects they want I will gladly fit them in there. Here is the almost (if not already) finished tile A3: ![]() Also I've made a really quick windowskin that is guaranteed to further increase the nostalgia I'm running with here. Wow, these look great. Not sure how feasible it would be, but here's to hoping you eventually decide to update the rest of the tilesets/sprites to this form. This is as close to an SNES style I've seen for the VX.

Also, I know exactly what you mean, so I don't mind at all Wow, these look great. Not sure how feasible it would be, but here's to hoping you eventually decide to update the rest of the tilesets/sprites to this form. This is as close to an SNES style I've seen for the VX. Although after this update I'll be busy for a day or two; I eventually plan to make a whole collection of resources in this style; that includes character sprites. I get to have fun makin' a bunch of bases to see what works best, but I want to complete most of the tiles first. UPDATE: Added something to tile A1: Spoiler: Here's how it looks with the tiles I created the water for: Spoiler: Made a couple character sheets for dungeons: Treasure Chests: Spoiler: Torch/Defense System: Spoiler: All updated in the first post. -------------------- The words that sprout of lies to our souls; if they bear fruit the lies disappear.

Thanks you two!
I have decided to do a little bit for each tileset, so I'm at that stage where anyone who wants something specific added in may have their wish granted. Later on I will do some for TileC(inside), then TileD(dungeons). TileB(outside): Spoiler: Here's a small example of how it may look, as limited as it is atm: ![]() PS: Adding a tree that isn't dead will take a lot of work o.O How people do it I don't know. -------------------- The words that sprout of lies to our souls; if they bear fruit the lies disappear.

Thanks for the continued support!
I'm really looking forward for more updates, probably some interior tiles, for castles and churchs? (just a sugestion) When I'm done adding a little bit for each tile (D and E come to mind now), I'll add in stuff for castles and churches like statues and a piano/organ among other things. Here is my next update; haven't had as much time as I'd like lately with real life attacking me, but I do have quite a bit for TileC, and another character object. TileC: Spoiler: Example with some of the tiles: Spoiler: Pond: Spoiler: As always, everything is updated in the first post. -------------------- The words that sprout of lies to our souls; if they bear fruit the lies disappear.
