Side-View Battles
by Jet Introduction So, this was my ReStaff release for Nov. 15. I'm sure most of us know what a side-view battle is. This is a simpler one than most others, though more advanced than Reedo's. I made this to be a smaller, more efficient, but lighter alternative to Tankentai. No Action Sequences yet, sorry. This is very cool, I like the way the damage nummerals pop up way better than tankentai's (which i'm using now)

This script is superior to the other SBS mainly because of it's compatibility. It's great. Also the Damage Display looks a lot nicer. Kudos Jet.

I know this is a very noobish question to ask because im new to scripting but here it goes. The monsters appear at the bottom center of the screen like it would for the default battle system, how do i fix that?

Shinsei, have you tried rearranging them in the TROOP tab of the database?

Not quite sure what that means really. I was battle testing and a got an error so i think im just going to give up because its just not worth the trouble but i would still love to try to fix it.

Shinsei, if you look into your database in the program, there are a lot of tabs at the top: Actors, Classes, Skills, etc. The eighth one from the left and next to "Enemies" is the "Troops" tab. There you can rearrange how the monsters are displayed on the screen during battle. The reason your enemies appear right smack dab in the middle is because you never rearranged those enemies. In addition, if you did get an error and want that error fixed, it would also be good to tell Jet what that error was! XD

If you're getting an error, then it's an user error, because i have fully tested this. You may want to check the config again. As for moving troop pictures, go into the "Troops" tab in the database, and move the little enemy pictures around. I got an error on - line 122: NameError occured uninitialized constant Spriteset_Battle::JSBS Make sure you copy the ENTIRE script. Line 122 in my script is a commented line, and it's almost another 100 before it gets to the core code. You must've missed part of the script. -------------------- ![]() Spoiler: |
