Warning> This is a french tutorial at the base. I translate it by using google traduction.
![]() Part One Heads To follow this tutorial you will need Paint.net and templates Sbs: ![]() ![]() ![]() -Template_1---Template_2---Template_3- Introduction Hi everyone, this is Xavioo. Note that this tutorial is a basic character. I could teach you how to make pixel art but it is much more complicated and I believe those to follow this tutorial will instead be beginners. Once the head finished, you can use it for most of the poses. Just tweak the hair to create a better sense of motion. Part 1 We start with this character: ![]() -First you create a new layer and name it whatever you want. The layer must be above the template Sbs. -Then cut the head of your character base like this: ![]() -When you get the head, you copy / paste onto a new layer (layer-2 here). Note: Make sure you do have more selection before this step. In selecting the layer-2 in the small window layer, you go to the section layer at the top of the software window, Rotate / zoom or rather Ctrl + Shift + Z Paint.net ....... \ _ Layer ............... \ _ Rotate / Zoom -By using this roulette: You handle it to get around this: Before: Spoiler: After: Spoiler: For me it gives me this: ![]() You can stop here if you are happy but you can do better. Part 2: We saw earlier that the rendering was so and so. Well it is because it is vague and it completely changes the style Vx. How to avoid this? We will start with the hair. This part is almost like a recolor, but a little different. In short: For the tutorial I've broken facial hair but it is not necessary. - Start with shadows or reflections. Take command of the second stage of the first part and take the 5 colors of hair. (I said 5, but this may either witness or more) ![]() -Delete the contours + - opaque because they are superfluous. -You can easily IDENTIFY THE 5 colors on the new hair (which have undergone the transformation). The colors should be slightly modified and there should be more. Once the five-spotted areas, you can proceed with colorization. Many of recolor tutorial are at your fingertips. It's the same principle. -Your hair is made (easiest) Your head is ready, then paste into layer 2 and voila! My head: ![]() Result: ![]() -> -> ->![]() -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ![]() Part Two Death To follow this tutorial you will need Paint.net and templates Sbs: ![]() ![]() ![]() -Template_1---Template_2---Template_3- Première Partie: We continue with the same character but this time from the back view! ![]() -Create a second layer Cut-back head ![]() Note: Make sure you do have more selection before this step. In selecting the layer-2 in the small window layer, you go to the section layer at the top of the software window, Rotate / zoom or rather Ctrl + Shift + Z Paint.net ....... \ _ Layer ............... \ _ Rotate / Zoom -By using this roulette: You handle it for this: Before: Spoiler: After: Spoiler: It gives me this: ![]() Part 2 (pixel art): -Identify the colors of the sweaters of character ![]() -This is the part of the sweater we will work on ![]() -With the darker the color, you make the outline of the sweater and you fill the rest with the second color the from the palette ![]() -Make the little details like folds with the second darkest color but do not use more than one pixel wide for that. If some pixels are isolated by the contour of the jersey, complete with the same color. Make a small line with the paler color in the hair for highlights. ![]() Part 3 -For pants, recolor them normally. Look, there are other tutorials for that. ![]() Part 4 -For shoes, you repeat the same pattern as the original but twice as big. Instead of being 1 * 3 pixels, you do 2 * 6 pixels. Wrap it all with a black outline and delete the rest. petit zoom: ![]() Résult: ![]() -> -> -> -> ->![]() --------------------------------------------------- ![]() Part Three Body To follow this tutorial you will need Paint.net and templates Sbs: ![]() ![]() ![]() -Template_1---Template_2---Template_3- First part: From my head and my death, I made the body. - Import your head and your body individually -Create a second layer and paste it your head Create a three-slap between the layer 2 and the template, then hide layer 2. You can put it back to see the result from time to time. -Trace the red sweater on another layer if you're not sure you'll do a good job right away. (recommended for beginners). ![]() -Take the colors of the jersey on the side like this: ![]() -Take the second color the paler color then fill inside the red limits. Do not touch the boundary. ![]() Replace the red-limit by the darker the color of your small palette except under the head. ![]() -Once that is done, the second shadow color to the underside of the head. ![]() -If you have any pockets or other, draw with the darker color then the pixels below the second you put the darkest color to the shade. ![]() -For the reflections, the light reaches the top-right corner to the lower-left corner so you draw a line outwards from the character's left arm (left arm not your left) and for the shadows and you make a replits online media arm of the second darkest color and a spot (2 * 2 * 2 or 3 up, for me, 5 pixels) below the shoulders. ![]() Part 2 The pants-it's just a recolor. QUOTE -For shoes, you repeat the same pattern as the original but twice as big. Instead of being 1 * 3 pixels, you do 2 * 6 pixels. Wrap it all with a black outline and delete the rest superfluous. little zoom: ![]() Result: ![]() With Head: ![]() -> -> -> -> -> -?>

![]() Part Four To follow this tutorial you will need Paint.net and templates Sbs: ![]() ![]() ![]() -Template_1---Template_2---Template_3- Part 1 -Turn your head 90 degrees to the right with the wheel. ![]() -Put the head on the template by putting both eyes the same way. ![]() It's simple as that! After I refer you to the second tutorial body! Result: ![]() Tip: ![]() You notice anything? (_1) To save time, the third body of the first row is the same pose for that whole second row! Long live the copy / paste! ^ ^ For the effect of movement, in the middle frame, move one pixel upwards. --- ![]() Same idea here. (Planche_3) The first and last columns are identical! --- ![]() here are just the middle one and then copy it twice. Add this on top: ![]() Conclusion: Conclusion: While this tutorial took me no less than 8 hours to do so hopefully it will be useful! I wish you good day or good night and I hope you can put full of custom characters in your projects! A+ I will call him John ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also add a template_2 to dodge a different and much nicer, in fact it is a position often seen but no real template.

Approved, but I edited some parts of the tutorial to make it more readable in English. Google translate can be really... weird. Even then, it might be hard to follow, but such is life!
I hope you all know how to create a three-slap. Edit: I also merged this topic with part 2, because the second post was very small. In general, we like to keep tutorials in one thread! It makes them easier to read together. -------------------- |

Great tutorial Xavioo! I'm trying this out right now, but I am having a some trouble on recolouring the hair. How exactly do you get rid of the transparent pixel and only keep the 5 color pattern?

You select sector by color. You can easily see what color where there before the rotation.

All proportional character templates I saw were for the basic chara, without the extra battler poses. I already can make these.

@Binkiwinki2: This is a tutorial, not a graphic shop. Please direct your request to the Resource Request board (unless the OP wants to fullfill yout request, but then again, this is a tut and not a shop, so he will most probably not take it up, but I could be wrong).
