Hello, I have been searching all over the internet for a way to solve my problem... After a few months of searching, I believe that the only way, is to use a script. (except my knowledge of programming is only limited to programming in TrueBasic...
So I ask you for help, for my following dilemma: I wish to change the characters in the menu screen (by default, in the game, I think it's the X button? You know, the one where it shows the 4 main characters in your team?), but still retain the main character that you walk around in. For example, Just like in the majority of the Pokemon games, The way in which the main character (i.e the trainer. The guy that you control to walk around with.) is seperate from the actual pokemon roster that you use to battle with. I wish to implement that into the game. Is this possible to be implemmented in RPG maker VX? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. p.s. I have spent quite a few months attempting to resolve the issue myself, but couldn't make anything like this... I'm starting to think that this isn't possible in RPG maker. |

I wish to change the characters in the menu screen, but still retain the main character that you walk around in. So... in other words you want to be able to do the following: Change the party formation from the menu but, not be able to choose the main character when you swap positions. Is that correct? If this is what you are trying to accomplish then KGC_LargeParty might be a good start... I'll check into this myself and see if I can help you out. Edit: I think I have the solution to your problem... I've made a demo for you to check out. Download the Demo: Click Here Please let me know if this is what you needed. Ok, I apologize for not being clear, but it's rather difficult to explain...
@Omegas7; by "change" I generally mean: swapping out or removing completely (out of the party) or adding characters. (By characters, I mean the "actors" that are in your database) @CTBolt; Thanks for the Demo, but not exactly what I'm looking for. :L Sorry! Umm..., Another example that should hopefully clear things up: There is a party of the following Characters/actors: A, B, C and D The character/actor I'm using to walk around with is A. I want to be able to "change" the characters, eg. Replace the whole party, and replace them with the characters; E, F, G and H, WHILE still using A as the character I'm walking around with. The sprite (let's say is of character A) and I am using this sprite to walk around with. It doesn't need to be the actual actor/character of A, but just the sprite of A that I can control, walk around and interact with objects and events. i.e The actor A TECHNICALLY doesn't need to be in the party. Hope this is more clear and easier to understand! Sorry again, for the inconvenience and lack of detail, guys! :'( |
