One Press Battle System Plugin for Tankentai Sideview
Version: 1.2.0
Plugin by Jeneeus Guruman

Introduction

This script is a fast paced modified battle from Tankentai 3.4e with ATB 1.2c that uses skills not by choosing from the list but just by single press of a button. This is somewhat based (not the exact thing) on the Tales series skill usage (for the active character) and Ar Tonelico 2 1-press attack.

  • Auto-target Type Selection

  • Special move in 1 button (creating my own special skill script)
  • Sprite/Window on viewing equip skill list in skill menu

How to Use

If you have already a Tankentai Script, place this above main and below all Tankentai and custom battle command related scripts.

Demo

One Press Battle System

Known Bugs

Tankentai only bugs (as of 3.4e)

  • Error on autolife state after KO. [FIXED]
  • Confusion/Berserk states will take effect if the actor is selected on the states' first turn.


My script bugs

  • Press 'Space' to use an item and cancel it without choosing anything, it freezes and takes damage. [FIXED]
  • Selecting "Choose" option in the target select will end the selected actor's turn (resets the ATB meter). [FIXED]
  • Selecting a character while others perform an action (includes enemies) will run the ATB meter. [FIXED]
  • Selecting "Choose" option in the target select will return an error in the next battle. [FIXED]
  • Many bugs found at Battle Menu like closing it. [FIXED]


Author's Notes

  • The Tankentai Sideview System is not owned by me. It is from Enu. For more info on the sideview, click here: RPG Tankentai v3.4e
  • This is only compatible with ATB Tankentai Scripts.
  • Since Tankentai itself is available to use commercially for free, my script is free too. Just credit me.

This is such a cool idea! I downloaded the demo and came across only one bug. When I select the character and press 'Space' to use an item and I go back with 'X' without choosing anything, it freezes and I sit there taking damage.
It's a pretty major bug, but overall the script is a very nice Ad-on! Can't wait to see how this progresses!

This is quite interesting, it adds an easier access to special moves, and would have a role to play in strategy if you removed the "Wait till player makes a decision" thing on the tankentai battle system. The only thing I would add to this would be to include some indication on the battle hud with what move is applied to current actor's selected skill button, but that's just personal preference.

I like this script and will most likely be including this in my game (When ever I actually start making my game instead of just messing around with a tech demo). Thanks for sharing!

I see. I've been thinking either I'll add the display for battle or not. My first is not putting it for memorization skills.

Haven't been on the site for awhile, glad to see this script is coming along well, I'll just be updating my resource folder now tongue.gif
still trying to figure out whether I want to add this in my game or not. Still messing with tankentai trying to make it more unique with my game, guess it depends if this is compatible with other addon's or not, but I have a felling that won't be a problem.

quick question, have you changed your user name recently?
