One of the areas of interest which I have observed over the years is for undersea tilesets. And although some methods of mapping underwater scenes, such as fogs and tints, can look nice, there are not really very many good resources readily available.

So once again Granny has been gathering up everything she can find, and is posting it here (or linking it here, if she does not have permission to repost, because Grannies always respect original artists!)

But Granny has also been busily frankenspriting and editing, and realises that she could get so much more done with community help. So here is the BIG IDEA!

Some of you may have seen the "What about Ralph?" thread at RPGMakerVX.net, or perhaps the Portrait template thread, in which some materials were posted, and then various artists continued to contribute to the theme. All materials posted were considered to be offered under the assumption that they could be used with the other materials in the set, with proper credits of course.

So here is my suggestion. How about we work on expanding this themed set together. If you have great idea, suggest it or make it. If a great idea has been suggested, and you will make it, post that you are starting it so we don't duplicate efforts. Let's see what we can come up with!

In the meantime, we have many nice materials and links to materials to start our compilation with!

Icy's Incredible Underwater Sound Effects:
Since you will not really have music underwater, enrich your atmosphere as follows:
PLay the Background sound as "Darkness" at the lowest pitch.
Then add SFX sounds to each of the overhead fish and the plants you bump into.

2502 - pitch 50% large fish enters
2503 - pitch 80% magic encounter
2504 - regular pitch - treasure chest - pitch @ 60% magical trasure chest
2505 - school of fish
2506 - magical sound
2507 - pitch 70% - magical sound
2508 - pitch 60% - entrance to undersea area
2509 - pitch 50% - transform (like a shell becomes a door or a statue becomes a mermaid)
2510 - small fish go by
2511 - undersea entrance

Suggestion list

Note: I mean EASY suggestions, like frankens and edits and stuff within reach of our community efforts.
If you are a super artist, well don't suggest - DO it! =]

franken the captain's hat onto a skeleton down
franken the pirate's scarf onto the skeleton down
use the broken ship tiles to make a parallax background for an underwater scene
edit Celianna's underwater tiles to look like they are moving (sea anemones, etc)

Gee, thanks for the collab Mrs. Deb. XD I've honestly been looking for some more underwater stuff and mermaid/underwater creature sprites for ages. And I love the chests.

As for suggestions, maybe it could be water-related sprites in general (like beaches), instead of underwater? That's all I can really come up with.

The RTP Sprites in Swimming gears as well drowning. That is a suggestion and these are nice.

I love this. I think with that tileset swap tool I can finally make my mermaid towns/cities and water temples with these awesome resources ^-^

She may need a bit of touch-up, but I'd say she's pretty decent. I had trouble with the scales, though. Mind you, I used my own fish as a reference, and they aren't your stereotypical fish. I think the kelp hairband is kinda cute, though.
