Renegade Farmer is a project which was blindly named but then had it's storyline recreated to fit it's name. So I'll just get straight into it; Story Synopsis:
John wakes up on river harrod. He‚€™s saved by cass and her best friend (Gary), and then is nursed back to health. He learns basic farming from the Gary. He tends to a farm for a while, until Eden comes back and buys Satia due to death threats.
Several months later, Satia has become basically a slave camp. Eden, using robots, has dug into the caverns below Satia. The majority of Satia citizens are forced to become miners, they are mining for precious metals believed to lay below Satia. The rest of Satia is being heavily farmed for food and goods. After a while, John meets up with an Eden miner named Guy. Guy says that he hates Eden corp, and wants to overthrow them. He knows of a way to destroy the hatred in the Boss‚€™s heart: Crystaline essence, which is farmed from pure happiness. Guy and Gary decide to create a secret tunnel that will lead away from the perimeter of Satia, but they have to mine at night, so the guards won‚€˜t notice.
Everything goes according to plan for a while, until Guy and Gary mess up one night (they‚€˜re caught heading into the mine at night), causing the guards to become suspicious. Guards are then planted inside the mine at night. John comes up with a plan. On the night of a nearby holiday, John plans to cause a stampede of animals inside the caves, as well as in the town itself. Guy and Gary plan to steal a mining robot during the stampede. John also needs to sneak into the storage warehouse the night before the holiday, seeing as a large shipment of fireworks will be delivered that day.
After several days of acting normal, the holiday finally arrives. John releases the cows, and sets off the fireworks, causing the cows to stamped in several directions. John, using a tractor, then steers some of the stampeding cows into the mine. The cows trample some of the guards, and cause the others to give chase. Guy and Gary then get to work, and manage to finish the tunnel by the time the night ends (John heads back home to make sure nobody gets suspicious. Also, the tunnel is covered up by a large grey blanket that looks like a rock wall).
A week later, John manages to escape through the cave, along with several rebellious farmers and a few crops (during week leading up to his escape, John gathered the crops and recruited the farmers). John heads to the western forest, and manages to set up a farm in a clearing. The farm begins to prosper, and it also grows steadily due to the large amount of lumber. During one night, Guy and Cass visit John, and they tell him that the guards have been searching all over the town for him, and they‚€™ll soon start searching outside Satia. Guy says that John needs to start making aquamarine essence immediately. Guy heads back to the town, and John tries his hardest to make his animals happy. Cass decides to stay with John, seeing as the guards have been pestering her. Two weeks later, Guy returns with grave news, the miners became impatient and started a violent rebellion against Eden Corp. Guy says that the miners are planning on flooding the mines. What the miners don‚€™t realize, is that if the mines are flooded, the now very small foundation under Satia will become weak, causing Satia to collapse into the earth. If John does not harvest the essence in time, there won‚€™t be a Satia left.
Some time later (maybe three-four weeks, depending on the player's farming skills), John finally harvests a small bit of the essence. Deciding that he doesn‚€™t have much time, John heads back through the tunnel and back into Satia (at nighttime). After avoiding the guards, John arrives at the miner barracks. He enters the barracks, only to find that they are totally deserted. John heads back outside, and is stopped by Guy. Guy says that the majority of the miners snuck back into the mines, and they are planning on flooding the mines in the morning. Guy also says that Gary has lost his mind to revenge, and is leading a diversion attack on the Eden HQ. John now has to make a choice on how to use the essence.
Ending 1 (if John chooses to use the essence on the Boss):
John heads to the HQ, where he is stopped by Gary. John says that he needs the miners to attract as many guards as possible, so that he can sneak into the HQ and give the essence to the Boss. Gary agrees, and gives the attack order. Suddenly, a small militia of miners charges at the door, taking cover behind various things. The miners that have weapons open fire on the building, blowing out several windows. Guards begin to pour out of the building, and the battle begins. While this is happening, John sneaks into the HQ and works his way into the Boss‚€™ office. There he finds the Boss. The Boss calls on several guards, who come and seize John, who tries to reason with the Boss, and tries to tell him about the miners flooding the mine. Unfortunately, the Boss doesn‚€™t want to listen, and orders the guards to take John away and execute him. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the building starts shaking as if it were in an earthquake. The floor gives way under the guards, causing them to fall away from John. John then lunges at the Boss, and applies the essence to him. The boss immediately becomes remorseful and apologizes to John. John and the Boss then escape the crumbling building, only to find that Satia is collapsing into an underground lake, a lake that used to be the mines. Several miners, including Gary, charge John and the Boss, trying to take the Boss down, but the ground collapses underneath them, causing them to be swept away in the current. John and the Boss manage to escape the crumbling city, thanks to Guy (who saved them with a pickup truck).
John, the Boss, and Guy all arrive at John‚€™s farm, where Cass, the mayor, and several citizens and farmers are waiting for them. They all agree that is was best to let Satia crumble. That way, there would be nothing left to fight over, and now they could start anew.
Ending 2 (if John chooses to use the essence on Gary):
John heads to the HQ, where he is stopped by several miners (who are armed with makeshift weapons). The miners ask where John is headed, and he says that he needs to tell Gary to stop, else Satia will be destroyed. The miners don‚€™t allow John to pass, and begin to attack him. Guy saves John by hitting the miners with a pickup truck (Guy sure loves them pickup trucks, doesn‚€˜t he?). John then begins to sneak his way around the makeshift fortifications outside the Eden HQ. He eventually finds Gary, who is happy to see him, until John tells him that he needs to call off the attack. Gary decides that John is a threat, so he has two miners escort him away from the HQ. Guy suddenly appears again, and rams one of the fortifications (a small wall of hay bales). The bales fall onto several people, including Gary. John quickly applies the essence to the trapped Gary, who then realizes what he is doing is wrong. Gary tries to call off the flooding, but the miners say that the makeshift bomb already been lit. John jumps into the truck with Guy, and they both rush to the bomb site in the mine. When they reach the bomb, the timer has only 45 seconds left. Neither of the men can defuse the bomb, mainly cause the miners rigged it to be impossible to defuse. The bomb is also so powerful that wherever it blows up, it will still collapse a small bit of Satia. Guy decides that he will take a bullet for Satia. He radios Gary and tells him to fall back. Guy then loads the bomb onto the truck (25 seconds left) and floors it. He drives to the tunnel that they built, hoping that the straight tunnel will take him and the bomb far away from both Satia and John‚€˜s farm. The bomb then explodes while Guy is inside the tunnel, causing it to collapse. John and Gary both rush out of the town, hoping to find Guy. They find Guy, a ruined truck and a large crater,Guy was alive but badly hurt. John and Gary hurry over to Cassandra and she gets him in bed immediately and starts tending to him.
Later, John, Gary, and the rest of the gang, stand outside the Eden HQ. The Boss finally agreed to meet with them, after seeing the destruction that they‚€™re capable of. The citizens of Satia and Eden decide to split Satia halfway, and all of the citizens are freed from being miners (except for those who like mining, in which case they become Eden Employees). Satia then
Diamond Beach: On the eastern side of Satia resides the Beautiful Diamond Beach. The beach stretches for miles north and south, passing the borders of Satia on either side, and the harrod river flows along the shore. The beach got it‚€™s name from it‚€™s sparkling sand. Research has shown that the sparkling is caused by tiny flakes of gemstones (mainly diamond). As to where the flakes came from, nobody can say.
Satia town: The town of satia is not very large, seeing as the majority of satia is taken up by farmland. The majority of the buildings are as old as the town itself, and a few wooden buildings have fallen to disrepair (due to a current lack of money), although they are still being used frequently. A large wall, built to fortify the town during the great war, protects the town from the western side. Seeing as Satia is a friendly place, and the residents enjoy newcomers, the wall has not been locked down in years.
Satia Plains: To the south of Satia town lies the plains. These plains a filled with nutrient rich soil, and they are perfect for any form of crop. The majority of the plains are covered with crops, but several miles of open ground surround the crop fields.
Western Forest: To the west of the town, a few miles past the open fields, stands the grand western forest. Most of this forest is untamed, making it a dangerous place to travel alone. A large road was cut straight through the forest, allowing farming shipments to come and go, but the road is scarcely traveled otherwise.
John Age: 20 Personality: John can best be described as loyal and hardworking. He is also a people person, seeing as he easily becomes liked by most of the town. Deep inside, somewhere in his subconscious, John is emotionally scarred‚€¶ although nobody, not even John, knows why. Occupation: Farmer of Satia Background: Not much is known of John‚€™s background, seeing as he woke up as an amnesiac. He apparently has a deep connection with Eden Corp, and Eden Corp has a deep resentment for him. Goal(s): To save Satia from the evil Eden Corp.
Cassandra Yemmin Age: 19 Personality: Cassandra is very caring for people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. She seems to be drawn to John, due to his winning personality and his work ethic. She is a very empathetic person, and she selflessly cares for any weary traveler, no matter who they are. Occupation: Cassandra doesn‚€™t have an occupation, other than tending to weary travelers who are in need of hospitality. Background: Cassandra was born and raised in Satia. While her father has always been there, Cassandra never knew her mother. Her mother apparently passed away from malaria when Cass was young. Goal(s): Cassandra wants to keep Satia, and her people, as happy and healthy as possible. No matter what the cost.
Fredrick Yemmin Age: 52 Personality: Fredrick is a kind and caring man, who holds a deep love for Satia and her people. He would willingly give his life in order to save satia, if such a sacrifice was needed. Occupation: Mayor of Satia Background: Fredrick is the 16th mayor of Satia. His grandfather was the mayor of Satia when Eden made it‚€™s first offer. Fredrick‚€™s grandfather always told his grandson that one day he would be mayor, and he would lead the people of Satia into great and horrible times. Because of this assumption, Fredrick spent most of his teen years studying under his grandfather, until his grandfather passed away. Fredrick promised his dying grandfather that Satia would never be taken by those unworthy of it‚€™s glory. Goal(s): Fredricks life goal is to keep Satia safe from those who would harm it, all while running the town himself.
Gary Markwell Age: 22 Personality: Gary, while a very kind man, can be quite rash. He holds a deep love for Satia and the Yemmins (seeing as his family was redeemed by the town and the mayor), and he will do whatever it takes to protect Satia, no matter how suicidal his plan may be. Occupation: Gary is a local lumberjack that helped build many important buildings in Satia (such as the church) Background: Gary and his family came to Satia shortly after Fredrick became mayor. Gary‚€™s family was running from a large criminal organization (like the mafia) who was trying to kill Gary‚€™s father (due to his loose tongue). Fredrick gladly accepted the family, giving them shelter in the town. When the organization arrived, Fredrick himself met with the leader, and they eventually made a trading deal. Fredrick gave the organization $500,000, and the criminals left the town in peace. Stunned by the fact that the mayor gave away half of his own money, just for their lives, the Markwell family pledged eternal allegiance to the town of Satia. Several years after, Gary‚€™s father vanished without a trace, and he was soon followed by his mother. Gary figured they decided to go back to their life of crime, which filled him with rage. If Cassandra had not been there for Gary, he would have most likely hurt someone. Ever since, Gary and Cassandra have been fond friends. Goal(s): To protect Satia and the Yemmins from any form of harm.
Boss (Pat Leonard) Age: 36 Personality: Pat is very controlling of everything. He rarely listens to reason, especially when he‚€™s angry. Background: Pat seems to hold a very deep love for his father. When the mayor of satia refused to sell the town, Pat could tell that his father was very hurt. Pat‚€™s father truly wanted to help people with satia, but he wanted to mine under the town in order to gain materials that could arm the innocent citizens in the great war, all while supplying the troops and citizens with food. Of course, even though the war ended, Pat still wanted to fulfill his fathers legacy. Unfortunately, Pat misunderstood his father‚€™s motives, and decided to instill a slave-like system on Satia, so he could punish the town, all while still getting what his father wanted. Goal(s): To control Satia and fulfill his father‚€™s wish.
