There's no reason to quote the main post. Especially when it's nearly a page long. -Sevith

So I decided after starting to play, I wanted to reply!

I like the characters and it has a good idea! The mapping is eh-ish. But that will get better with practice.
So i'm going to adda spoiler box with comments on what I think is great!
Spoiler:
I've been playing for a while.
One thing I don't like is that town them that I hear everywhere!! GAH
the notes go on forever!

I'm up to the part where I get Vampris.
Suggestion to people who are going to play: level up and buy weapons and scrolls!

The flashback was quite funny! The shadow Team!!! GAH

I like how they all appeared and they say "where's your priest" and then you say "over there" and then they say thank you!

Spoiler:
The poison and darkness
attacks!
They have bow animations?!

I'll help you more with this later.
I like the game! I don't want to stop playing!

Why didn't you like the game? This is not constructive criticism, and thus, a worthless post.

Personally, I'm not a fan. The mapping was painful, the plot was weak, and the 'scenes' could have been a lot better. (Waking up on the island, and in a bed, etc.) You'd just need to devote a bit more time to them to show what's really going on. The cheerful 'town' music that plays through most of the game is unsuitable for the mood when the character wakes up on the island, (although that only lasts about 3 seconds) and also has a ridiculously long note in the middle that really got on my nerves every time I heard it.

A couples of good things, were the dialogue and the combat. In spite of some typos, the banter between the 3 characters amused me, although the plot (that I saw) was weak. After the first castle, I couldn't be bothered playing anymore.

The 'boss' in the castle was also actually quite a challenge. Beat him first time, but he required a bit of care, I quite liked that. The skills and side-view system could have used a bit of customisation too.

That's all I can really think of for now. It's not all bad, and I expect you'll do better next time around.

Thanks for this. My 8 year old is making his own game and this gave him a really good feel for how events are triggered such as getting the free sword, the hidden money, and having the bandits (or whatever they were called) show up and attack.

He has figured out an amazing amount by himself but this really helped him understand linking events by triggering.

Wow, I'm surprised at all of the feedback I received since I was last on, I thought this project was as good as dead, and on page 4 by now.
To people who want the battle script, it's just Tankentai side view, go to script resources.

Thanks for all of the avatar comments, greatly appreciated XD

On top of that, thank you for all positive comments and constructive criticism. I am now 14 and my vocabulary has increased substantially, so I have decided to make a new game, and fix some flaws. My mapping has improved quite a bit, but the new game I'm making is a spoof game. After this I am going to create a full time game, with probably a unique battle system and much more game play. I invite you to play it when the demo is posted (going under moderation approval).
Once again, thank you.

This game takes quite a long time to download, but looking forward to seeing how this turns out. It seems like a good game from [some] of the comments.
Also you can look up how to create your battle system so you can see your character, just look around.

Well, I downloaded and played it for about an hour, and the dialogue seems pretty neat.

But the mapping and hometown music gives me a headache. The music is extremely unfitting for the hometown, and the maps themselves look very square and empty, which is a bad combination. The story also seems kind of awkward and random at times.
I liked the idea of enemies moving around on the world map though. Neat one. smile.gif

Anyways, I'll finish the game soon and see how it turns out as a whole. Sorry if this came off as kind of tactless and stuff. I really hope to see any new games of yours though, and how they turn out. This is a good start. biggrin.gif

I don't mean to necropost, I have just returned from my 1 year slumber and wish to bring this game back on the reviewing. I may do a prequel to it one day, but for now I'll either work on my dungeon exploring game or perhaps start a new project if I get a better idea.

okay i have played this game for just 8mins
and i would say it is okay
but it has lots of basic stuff
such as characters
and map tiles
not that i have anything wrong with them but
if you aren't very good at drawing use something to generate it for you
the biggest problem with the game is it moves to fast
i've already got a girlfriend
that should be at the middle or end
but it seems you did try to make this very fast
now i try to make things fast when i am trying out something new or learning something new
but it would be a better game if it had custom characters at least
it's a good game for a first game
but that is one reason why i don't want to make a game yet
i advice you to learn more before your next game
i have been using rmvx for about 3 weeks
and already know a lot about eventing, databasing, mapping, and scripting
i am trying to learn all of them so i don't need to much help
but i am still not that good at all of them
but other than the stuff listed above it is a good game
but it needs to be 10x harder for me really to get into it
so i will probably play it every now and then
but when you make a game put 10x more effort in it then this game
